That's because it would go off topic. If you want to do something like that, go make a thread about it.

I don't think it would really go that far off topic. This topic is about whether DC/Marvel/Anime characters are stronger - Pitting characters who are close/similar in strength would expand the topic. From my readings, I understand that there are very powerful characters in DC/Marvel, but I believe it would help this topic if there are characters who close in strength are pit against each other. I mean, the previous pages are basically full of "MARVEL/DC HAS ULTRA POWERFUL PEOPLE, ANIME LOOSES HARHAR." My recommendation would be more constructive, imo.

I would make a thread but "vs" threads are already against the rule, and I little to no knowledge on DC/Marvel comics.

If you are talking about bringing two or more anime characters together against two or more DC/Marvel characters, then I apoplogise. I may hav understood, because the post (underneath) is clearly talking about putting DC/Marvel/anime characters together, rather then two things in the same "category".

Yes, I did mean that. I did misunderstand the post in a way but I was just reinstating what I had mentioned a while back. It could also work for Anime Heroes vs DC/Marvel Villians.

I have been wondering about this for a while, this thread is pretty much a Vs. thread. Why haven't any mods lock this thread yet?

Here's the problem though, barely anyone in this thread (or this site for that matter) knows much about western comic book super heroes/super villains. I bet you if you asked any Crunchyroll members if they know anything about western comic book characters, they're response will most likely be commercially successful ones (ie., Spiderman, Batman, or Wolverine), even then they'll only know the ultra basics.

They obviously won't mention any thing like the Batman franchise having gone through 5 different Robins, the 1st ex-Robin Dick Grayson becoming the Batman in the current timeline, 2 of the 5 Robins have died while one of dead came back from the grave because of Superboy Prime (or was it Superman of Earth-2) altering reality from a ALL CAP RAGE punch, or the newest Robin, Damian who is Bruce Wayne's and Talia al Ghul's (daughter of Ra's al Ghul) son.

If you want to start a discussion that's fine by me, but you or someone else will have to start the discussion simply because I'm terrible at starting discussions. Although for the moment I see no point since there just too much lack of knowledge of western comic book characters.

I guess that's kind of the reason DC is doing their big Reboot thing in September. Western Comics have a really small readership compared to Manga these days and they are making a big push to bring things up. 40,000 issues a month is considered good and a book isn't risking cancellation until it drops below 20,000. Heck I've seen books allowed to keep going all the way down to the 15,000s. It's not that they don't have good stories or characters, they just can't seem to bring in new readers.

Actually the new Action Comics sounds really interesting. They are making Superman less powerful instead of more powerful. Back to Leaping tall buildings instead of flying, able to take a hit from a tank shell but not indestructible and taking him back to his Golden age roots of beating up slum lords and everyday crooks. Crusading Hero of the common man sort of thing.

That kind of Superman isn't a Planet moving god with a swiss army knife of super powers, but he sounds like a more interesting hero to me.

Superman is one of the co-founders of the Justice League, it'll be total waste of potential if common crooks and organized gangs are all he fights. I rather they leave that to other heroes who are better suited for that job like Batman or Green Arrow.

Im sorry, but, until superman can blow up an entire planet with a large ball of energy, then I will have to go with Goku on this one... kind of unfair if you ask me. lol

Lets not forget Superboy Prime, all the powers of the silver age Superman. The guy was rec-coned out of existence and he punched his way back into the story!

Magneto is pretty powerful (without being a reality warper), considering that he could well be the master of electromagnetism which happens to be one of the fundamental forces in nature. The comics have kinda underpowered him.

Also The Sandman and his family the Endless. Captain Atom tends to end all, seeing as he can create and then wipe out a universe by himself. Bendovian the Sinestro Corp sniper can kill people from 3 sectors away.

Kinda hard to think when you throw in all these op characters, its more like:

Can Golgo 13 kill the Batman?

I personally think this is a really neat conversation. Though the OP made the opening question much too vague.

There is a myriad of ways that someone can be strong. Some that are so different from each other that you couldn't actually test their outcome fairly versus one another. Like comparing Apples to Oranges as the age old adage goes.

Imagine for a moment a Wearwolf vrs Superman. Both of them in there appropriate state are incapable of killing the other. Superman even knowing it is a Wearwolf would never use silver bullets because he will never kill. Likewise the Wearwolf would never have the forethought to bring Kryptonite to make Superman mortal.

For a really bizarre fight imagine Rogue versus Luffy. You could imagine at first Luffy is freaking about Rogue flying around until he has to hit her and probably give her a good clobbering. But the moment she gets to touch him with her hand. She can either even up the fight or suck him dry of his life essence. Then of course after wards she will demand meat! heh

This is a foolish comparison. Anime and comics cover such a broad spectrum of characters that general statement like the OP's makes no sense. Both fields contain godlike characters of incalculable power.
comes to mind as a recent example from anime. But there have been plenty of other dieties. Likewise Marvel and DC have had Beings such as the Greco-Roman gods running around, The phoenix force, Planet devouring giants whose mere servants (ie the silver surfer) were powerful enough in their own right to be go toe to toe with GROUPS of top shelf heroes. etc.

The same two spectrums of characters. Include any number of rather mundane 'slice of life' heroines and heroes. You could find anyone from the lower end of the spectrum and compare them against someone 'higher' and say "look my side wins". while comparisons of the most powerful comes down to an equally pointless "My all powerful god, is bigger than your all powerful good"

pointless.

now a specific comparison between characters might be more... viable ... as a reason to debate. but seriously what it amounts to is a discussion about how many anime characters can dance on the head of a pin.

can we find something more meaningful to talk about?

Hah, sorry but Itachi does NOT stand a chance. He'd get utterly destroyed.

It's not really very fair, because anime would totally out number marvel or dc.
