To think, or not to think.

So are people supposed to think before they speak. Or speak without thinking? I've been told by people that you need to think first, then speak. I've been told by others to not think so much as to simply speak because it makes a nice and happy world flow.

So, CR. Quality or Substance?

If you think first without speaking.... you leave an awkward silence that is creepy...

Depends on the situation, but if you are planning to say something that will offend someone then yeah, would think about it first and prepare yourself for some backlash...

Think first, but do it in a fast without putting "err" infront of what you say or any other gesture that might imply you have thought before speaking. Subtle is the way

From what I've seen, speaking freely without thinking about what you're saying has gotten some people in trouble. Thinking carefully on your actions can help you.

Think quickly, and don't take too long. Sometimes it is best just to speak quickly and not censor yourself, while other times you had better think it through carefully. It depends on the situation.

i've always been the type of person who prefers to think more than speak... so i would say think before- it keeps you out of trouble

I would say it's better to think first. And it's kinda necessary anyways with the whole nervous system and blah. But anyways, it's better to contemplate over things.

Thinking first is best, but there are some situations where you don't need to think like yelling "watch out!" to help save someone from being in harms way.

'Think first' is my answer. It's more rewarding on a materialistic scale. People are more liable to help a person that has been polite and nice to them, rather then truthful and hurtful. Which is where my policy of "I'm honest, you just have to ask the right question." comes into place. It's all about ambiguity and being able to reflectively influence people by manipulating them through a social persona. Do this and the only people you should worry about is empaths.

Substance over quality? Well, why not have both? Why not just have quality substance, or a substance that turns events into pure quality? I really don't see the problem.

Thinking first to build or make a 'happy' world flow is such bullshit by the way. If thinking made a happier world then there should be urban arcadia with factual equality by now. No, thinking doesn't enact much unless it is followed by actions. Well, I hope my post was specific. I was at a loss for words for 5-10 minutes.

Think first. Speaking w/o thinking first has gotten me stumped many times and left me feeling awkward. But that hardly means we need to plan what we say. I hardly ever speak w/ many people, and i'm completely tactless and let myself be led by the flow if there's a conversation going. So for people like me, you have the word blunt and that kind of saves us, i guess, from being labeled as rude. But it's still not exactly a compliment much as it is an excuse for something undesirable.

To think or not to think. Doing the latter can be lazy and disrespectful.

Less talk, less mistake..
before you talk, you must think first because maybe someone will get hurt..
