I just started to use the flingo on my TV. And I can only see half of the substitles. I've tried on all formats, 16:9, 4:9 and etc..nothing works, the subs are always just under the screen. I have an 1080 TV. Is there a way to fix this?

Also while we are on the topic about flingo. Will there be more episodes added? As in some anime like Shugo chara there is only 50 episodes.

Regards

I suspect your TV is set to overscan the picture (which aside from causing a problem like the above, also harms the image quality). This is still the default setting for even many flat panel televisions, even though it is only needed with CRTs and similar technologies.

Unfortunately, how to disable overscan varies from one HDTV to another, so I cannot give you specific instructions. On my HDTV, for example, it is requires turning off "Cropping" in the "Screen" menu.

Yes, overscan will screw up your ability to view our subtitles. Lately we have been trying to compensate for overscan by padding the sides of the screen but we would have to manually go back through all of our older subtitles to resolve all these issues which will take some time.

Ok, so, I will try to look for how to disable that. I'll be in touch if I find it

On some HDTVs it's called "Just Scan" in the screen ratio selection.

Hi, what's going on with Crunchyroll on Flingo? Nothing has been updated since new year of 2013. Please let us know if this is going to happen soon. Cheers.

Hi again,

Yes Flingo managed to sort that out late January but this morning random episodes disappeared from most if not all of the series listed on the Flingo channel. I use a WDTV Live box to watch. What's happening? Have asked the guys at Flingo so I hope this is resolved soon.

Hi, it's gotten worse today on WDTV Live's Flingo channel. Many new episodes have only one, two or three random episodes left, and at least one has become an empty folder. Can anyone tell us what's happening? Thanks.

Hi anyone,

No response from either you guys or Flingo to date. Did someone mass move, rename or write over files or something that the flingo script cannot cope wIth? As of today, there are scores of empty folders both new and old series alike, other than Usagi Drop, which you have announced as being dropped due to licensing. Zero episodes. Many. Please reply, just let us know that someone is aware of the problem. Thanks.

We really don't have anything to do with the app as supported by Flingo.
Not made by our engineers, we don't have any magic buttons or anything to press to make content disappear.

Really, the best thing you can do is reach out to them.

Hi Bjaker, thanks for your post.

Yes, testflingo at Flingo is trying to fix it. It's just mind boggling for what is essentially a url linking script that is smply monitoring changes you make to your folders (usually, a new episode added weekly) then presenting it into a simple GUI to navigate via a simple remote control, to break down practically once a month!

Which was why I asked, have there been file renames, overwrites or moves to new folders that the guys at Flingo have to keep coping with.

Cheers.
