It's sexism.

Still around, and always will be.

To me, it doesn't make a difference. If my boyfriend cheated on me, I would feel like I wasn't good enough and he had to look for someone else who was. No matter if it's a man or a woman he'd be cheating with. The same goes for girls. A girl cheating on her boyfriend with another girl is just as bad. And the excuse "it was just for fun" is the worst excuse ever. Couldn't you have that fun with your boyfriend/girlfriend? Did it really have to be with that one person? Geez, think twice before you kiss someone and think thrice before you have sex.

I never understand why lesbians are so much more accepted than gays either, but that's just one of life's injustices.

I have never agreed with anyone more.
Let me ask you this, if you saw two girls holding hands, would you think that they were friends or lovers? Most likely friends. Now what if it was two guys?
Honestly, as a girl, if I ever did cheat on my boyfriend with a girl I would consider it cheating. And it would make sense if my boyfriend broke up with me. Why is it though, that lesbians are more accepted. How many times do you here people making fun of lesbians? Not much.
(I also want to say if my boyfriend cheated on me with a guy I would probably break up with him but as a yaoi fan I would still imagine what happend... )

An excellent point, usually people would assume they were gay but sometimes guys just like to mess around and have a Bromance and do that sort of thing for a laugh, its usually clear if they are just having fun, but if I saw two guys casually walking holding hands, honestly I'd think "Oh they must be gay" but if I saw two girls doing that I'd think "Maybe they're friends" see that 'maybe' in there...its just not as plain to see as it would be with guys. Its confusing but its true lol.

It doesn't matter if it is a girl or a guy.
There is clearly a lack of commitment

I am the 'one man woman' type...

When I love a guy, I love him....that is why I still grieve....simple...he is gone forever...

I've been hit on in pubs by chics and my first instinct is to deck her ass, sorry to offend anyone, I believe in live and let live,
but I do not swing that way...

Is this a bad time to quote Steel Panther? "Eatin' Ain't Cheatin'"?

The irony of the song aside, I'd be pretty pissed off...when I'm in a relationship I can forgive the (un?)lucky lady damn near anything, but any kind of cheating would mess with my head - even if it was girl on girl and it DID give me some ehh, interesting mental images.
Yeah, threesomes are interesting, but it can get hella complicated especially if your other half happens to be bi and you aren't...even if you 'trust' them, who really knows another person to that extent that you can trust them implicitly? Have faith in them to be honest and true perhaps, but faith, like love is blind, you can never truly tell if they will stay faithful to you (especially after a threesome, or a drunken fuckabout with another chick) afterwards.
But no, cheating isn't cool.
If you decide to play the field as part of your thing (read open relationship...pfft) then that's as maybe, but then it doesn't count as cheating, does it?!
If they want to go off with someone else have the balls (well, tits, but you know!) to tell me - I might get hurt, might be a bit pissed, but at least I'd understand that you found someone who fills a hole (so to speak...pun intended) better than me and you're happier with them...liars and cowards make me hurl!

On the aside about guys/girls holding hands, its not a hard and fast rule, but I look at HOW they're holding hands and their general body proximity during hand-holding.
Its uncommon but not unknown for straight guys to hold hands...equally and frequently for straight girls. However what I get a better indication of is whether or not they are linking fingers too...usually that level of intimacy (as its maximizing skin surface area contact thereby feeling closer and more intimate) indicates a much closer than friendship relationship. At least it does the majority of the time for me

Gender is irrelevant. If people A and B are together, and A does something intimate with C, UNLESS A has pre-cleared it with B, A has cheated on B. Curiousity is a valid answer, however, it does not negate the fact that cheating had occured. Besides, if A is going to be so flirtacious, does B really want to take any associated chances?

Goddamn it, if you think about it, girls can cheek kiss, hug, talk endlessly about the way other girls look, and call each other hot without being called gay, but if a guy did any of that with another guy it'd automatically "make him gay". Again, just a lame double standard somebody came up with.

Gezze, You understand me! Yes! I mean you hear all the time girls calling other girls pretty or being jealous of them. Why can't guys have that same freedom? It just makes me wanna blow! Every time I hear a guy call another guy gay without proof I just get incredibly mad. This is just one of those things in life that's cruel and unfair. The world may degrade woman but in factors like these, they also degrade men.

Lol, I don't know where you live to have that type of thing going on.
But in europe, we kiss on the cheek, hug, shower together, and say about other guys they are hot, without being "gay".
You should move to europe :P

It's just because girls don't obsess over stuff like that as much as guys do. It's a matter of preserving masculinity, I guess....but it's a stupid double-standard.
