Park Min-young cast in drama, Chun Jung-myung to join her?

Actress Park Min-young is still on the set of her current drama City Hunter, but she’s already been cast in her next project. (By the by, doesn’t Park Min-young always star in the crack drama of the year, two years running? That’s some thunder. Perhaps she’ll be three for three before the year is even out.) She’ll be starring in the upcoming KBS drama Man of Honor (The Glory of Jae-in), known also as the highly anticipated reteam of Baker King Kim Tak-gu‘s PD Lee Jung-seob and writer Kang Eun-kyung.

The drama is about two young people who overcome their fates and find love. Park will be playing a young woman who dreams of becoming a nurse like Florence Nightingale, even as she struggles with a harsh life. So not a light and fluffy drama, this one.

Not that I’d expect anything different from the Baker King team — that drama pretty much branded them as the overcoming-down-and-out-circumstances-to-achieve-your-dream drama people, though truthfully that drama drove me kind of nutty with its makjang story elements. Everything’s all Fate with a capital F and Destiny with a capital D, but the B didn’t stand for baking so much as Birth secrets. But for all its faults, Baker King was a ratings juggernaut, so they certainly know how to make a drama addictive.

The real question is who will play her leading man. Chun Jung-myung is reportedly up there as the top contender, which is just all manner of squee-inducing. So much pretty. But the lead role is still unconfirmed, so we’ll have to wait and see. My fear is that somehow this drama cocktail is going to end up Cinderella’s Sister crossed with Baker King, which might make me hurl. But there’s a chance it’ll be more triumph-of-the-human-spirit, less I-love-you-but-you-might-be-my-sister, right? RIGHT?

Man of Honor follows The Princess’s Man and premieres in October on KBS.

Who doesn't like a character driven underdog story?

I enjoyed the writer/pd's previous drama (Baker King) immensely, I'll definitely be watching The Glory of Jae-in.

Chun Jung-myung cast in Park Min-young series

Actor Chun Jung-myung has been cast as the male lead to an upcoming TV series set to star actress Park Min-young, according to his agency on Monday.

Chun's agency Red Line Entertainment told 10Asia over the phone that the actor will play a baseball player named Kim Young-gwang in the KBS drama tentatively titled "Young-gwang's Jae-in" starting October.

Kim Young-gwang will be a character who by destiny meets nurse's aide Jae-in, played by Park, after suffering from an injury in the drama telling of how Jae-in becomes successful after overcoming her hardships.

Producer Lee Jung-sup and scenarist Kang Eun-kyung, the duo of smash hit series "Bread, Love and Dreams" (KBS, 2010) which saw viewership ratings of over 50 percent during its run, will come together once again for the new show set to air following current Wednesday and Thursday primetime series "The Princess' Man."

Park Min Young plays with the nuns

Here is the still came from upcoming drama Man of Honor, starring Park Min Young and Chun Jung Myung.

Park Min Young plays Yoon Jae In the bright and cheerful girl despite her hardship in life. And we convince that Min Young will again success to make her character believable.
Just see how fun she posed with the nuns (which took care of Jae In in her childhood), and the nuns were funny too !

Park Min Young’s perfectly portraying 18-year-old Jae In with her happy cheerful personality !

Although the story maybe a cliche Korean drama story – if we recall that the writer of Baker King Kim Tak Goo penned this drama –Man of Honor debuts October 12.
