One of my favourite forms of entertainment is stand up comedy. It takes a lot of intelligence to do as unlike music which can be editted to sound right (same goes for movie and TV) stand up takes pure wit and nerve to stand up in front of a crowd and try to find what they find funny. I myself am currently thinking about trying a bit of it myself but I want to see some people's opinions on it first.

So what do you think of of stand up, who's your favourite comedian.

Also for a bit of shameless advertisement I have a blog testing some of the things I have written myself which the link for can be found on my profile page

Also finally if this is in the wrong form section sorry there wasn't really a section in entertainment I sort it would fit.

Nothing like watching stand-up when I'm down or in a bad mood. My favourite comedian would have to be Daniel Tosh. His stand-up is way better than the material he uses for his show.

I haven't heard of Daniel Tosh myself but I think I will look into him. My favourite comedian has to be Russell Howard his whole giddy act is funny and the stuff he writes is rather good. Actually he is one of the people that got me into the idea of trying stand up.

Ha, well if you do look into him, just a bit of a warning, his material can be pretty offensive at times. Well, it's almost never not offensive, but that comes with the territory of comedy.

If you have Sky TV, go to the music channel Flava and every Thursday they have a comedy show on about 10:30 Live from London and they have a mix of best and upcoming comedians from all around the world performing. Watched it last week and it was hilarious.

Fav comedians:

George Carlin, his views on religion are utterly hilarious. www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeSSwKffj9o
Kevin Bridges, the best Scottish comedian since Frankie Boyle.
Chris Rock! I have all his shows on DVD
Michael McIntyre, I can relate to all he jokes about!
Stewart Francis (his classic one-liner style is brilliant, he just makes it work)
Eddy Izzard, his "cake or death" is a classic
Jason Anderson, he's from the US and he's brilliant.
Frankie Boyle for his controversial but epic performances on Mock The Week "I had attempted to make two gay friends in hopes of getting some fashion advice...but instead....they fucked me."

My favourite comedian is Michael MacIntyre. Most comedians tend to pivot around some sort of category like Russell Howard usually talks about things on the news, Russell Peters about race and Michael MacIntyre about daily life. Maybe you should pick something? or just mix it up.
