Diagon Alley is a high street located in London. It is accessible to the wizarding world, to which it is something of an economic hub, but hidden from Muggles (non-magical folk). Lyranne held on to her grandmother's sleeve. She was looking around curiously. Just moments ago, they were in Charing Cross Road. They entered a building, called 'The Leaky Cauldron' Lyranne noted, and it was as if she was transported into a different place.
Her grandmother laughed. "Now, dear. Don't be scared or shocked at what I'm about to show you."
"You mean things are stranger than this?" she asked her grandmother as they walked into a courtyard. "Grandmother, what are you doing?" Lyranne questioned. The elderly woman was touching the bricks of the wall surrounding the courtyard.
"Would you like to do the honors?" Her grandmother asked, sparkle in her eyes. Lyranne walked over.
"What honors?"
Grandmother just smiled and took Lyranne's hand. She placed it over a brick. "Push against it."
Lyranne did as she was instructed, and the brick sunk in. An entrance revealed itself.
"Welcome to Diagon Alley, Lyra." Grandmother smiled and lead Lyranne. She looked around. "Oh, I haven't been here in ages," she started to say. "I don't even know where to start with your school supply shopping. No, we'll go to Gringotts Wizarding Bank first." Lyranne walked to wherever they were going, gaping at everything and everyone.
At the bank, they exchanged their muggle money for wizarding money. "I guess we should get you a wand first."
Grandmother lead her granddaughter to a humble shop.
"Ollivander's Wand Shop," Lyranne read and walked inside.

The whole day consisted of walking and shopping and repeating the process all over again. In the end, the two companions got everything they needed, from wands to robes, cauldrons to textbooks, and a new pet owl. The most interesting experience for Lyranne was getting her wand.
Grandmother and granddaughter walked into the dusty wand shop.
"Despite its shabby appearance, the wands here are really good. Mr. Ollivander will find you a perfect wand," Grandmother said.
"Incorrect, miss," an elderly man approached them. "The wand finds the wizard, or in this case, the witch." The man bowed. "Mr. Ollivander, at your service." He studied Lyranne and her grandmother. "You two come from the world of muggles?"
"Yes, we do. My granddaughter, though, was accepted into Hogwarts..." As Grandmother was explaining their situation to Mr. Ollivander, Lyranne walked along an aisle containing boxes of what she guessed were wands. Compelled by curiousity, Lyranne pick off one of the boxes from the shelf and peered inside to look at the wand.
Mr. Ollivander stopped short in the middle of his sentence. He was looking at Lyranne with an intrigued expression. "Unicorn tail hair, holly, 9 and a half inches. Interesting choice, try waving the wand around to see how it feels."
Lyranne squished the wand around. She shook her head. "It...doesn't feel right."
Mr. Ollivander came up to her and took her arm measurements. "I think you'll be better suited with a longer wand, and something more flexible--like willow." He took various boxes off the shelf and had Lyranne try them.
After going through ten boxes, still no wand felt comfortable. When squishing around her eleventh wand, Lyranne toppled over some boxes. "Oh, I'm so sorry..." She started to pick up wands and boxes and put them into place. Most of the wands were out of their boxes, and she had no clue where to put them. Lyranne picked up one wand. She felt something strange, a feeling she hadn't felt when testing out the other wands.
"Bring that wand over here," the wandmaker instructed. When she had done so, Mr. Ollivander studied the wand. "Yew and dragon heartstring, 10 and a quarter inches." He gave it back to Lyranne.
Lyranne grasped the wand and squished it around. Then, the toppled over boxes and wand flew up into the air and organized themselves back into their proper places. She looked to Mr. Ollivander.
"Remarkable," he said, pushing up his glasses. "I guess the wand has found its owner." He smiled.

"Lyranne?" Her grandmother asked, concerned.
Lyranne looked up. "I'm sorry, Grandmother. Yes, what were you saying?" They were walking back home, already out of Diagon Alley and in the streets of London.
"I was saying what would you name your new owl?"
She looked down at the cage. "Artimesty, after Artimest, goddess of the night."
Her grandmother smiled. "Child, you are a wonder." She sighed. "Tomorrow we'll be off to King's Cross and Platform 9 and three- quarters."
Lyranne was about to says there was no such thing as a Platform 9 3/4. She thought. Maybe there was. She wouldn't be surprised, afterall, she's seen so many things today that will seem so far-fetched to others.

Anastasia entered Diagon Alley with Karin, her fox-like cat. She walked around, in astonishment, trying to locate the things needed for her year in Hogwarts. Anastasia found a wand store called 'Olivanders'. Anastasia walked in slowly, looking around.
"May I help you?" a man asked.
"Uh...yes please. Im looking for a wand," Anastasia stated.
"Then youve come to the right place. Olivanders the name."
Anastasia shook his hand. "Im looking for a wand. Do you think you could help me find one?"
Mr. Olivander smiled. "No ma'am. The wand will find you."
Anastasia was hesitant towards that statement, but she listened. She walked around the store looking at random wands.
"Are you new? You must be from the muggle world."
"Yes I am, Mr. Olivander." Anastasia walked around some more. Then, she felt a pull towards one of the boxes in the back. Anastasia opened the box and out of the many wands, one stood out. She picked it up.
Mr. Olivander was watching. "That right there is an 11-inch Rosewood Dragon Heartstring. Try swinging it around."
Anastasia did as he said. She held onto the wand, and with a tiny motion, she flicked the wand and felt a sudden of energy. She flicked it again and this time, a tiny flicker of fire appeared. Weird, The fire didnt burn anything, she thought. Instead, it slowly disippated. She didnt know how but Anastasia knew that this wand was for her. "I'll take this wand," she said, so sure of herself.
"Great choice," Mr. Olivander said.
After buying the wand, Anastasia went outside. She looked around, not sure what else to buy. She didnt think she had to buy an animal since she already had Karin so she headed out. Before leaving she noticed a bank. Is muggle money not acceptable here? she wondered. Anastasia decided to exchange some of her money just in case. After eaving the bank, Anastasia headed to the train station.

Charlotte landed in the outskirts of Diagon Alley. She rubbed Silfene's fur before she took off, soaring the great blue sky. Charlotte walked around and did her shopping for this year's school year. Charlotte walked inside Potage's Cauldron Shop. Charlotte looked around before buying a big black cauldron. Charlotte enjoyed Potion making, though her face never showed it. She was fascinated with all the different Potions she could make. After finishing her shopping, she called Silfene again and they headed back to the dorm.

Leona walked inside the Diagon Alley. Her pet owl named Alexander was resting on her right shoulder, sleeping. She was there to buy Alexander some treats at Eeylops Owl Emporium until she saw a guy standing there, mumbling something to himself. She guessed that he was looking for something. "If you're looking for the Quiditch shop, it's right over there." She said, pointing at the store at the corner that had the sign 'Quality Quiditch Supplies' hanging above the door.

Leona was looking through the treats, cages and owls with Alexander, who was already awake. She lightly petted his head as she talked to the store owner about what treats would be good for her pet. She lightly smiled when Alexander smiled, enjoying her hand on top of his head.

Leona exited the shop with a bag of treats for Alexander. She looked around to see if she needed something else. Something caught her attention. A brand new telescope that was on display in front of the shop. She decided to check it out and entered the Telescope Shop. As soon as she entered, she went straight to the telescope. She didn't notice that someone was also looking at it as she was more focused on it and planning to buy it for her Astronomy class.
