I really liked it! I think I just thad one of those moments - "NEWANIMEONCRUNCHYROLLOMGZZZLAWL" - type thing and I just watched it without really looking into it. But I'm glad I did. It set a pretty high stage for itself, I just hope it can continue.

So far so good. When this show was announced, I sought out and read the first few chapters of the manga, mostly to determine if the anime would be inappropriate for my 14 year old son, which I am still on the fence about (heavy graphic violent content, but not actually shown so far, just the aftermath. Some implied sexual content, with potential for serious sexual content with Shiba in the mix, but I doubt it will go there too much, since the protagonist seems to lack the cojones to be the instigator of any sexual content in the story...)

The first episode, with the exception of the visual sequence at the beginning showing part of a past that is only hinted at in the manga, is fairly faithful to the first three or so chapters, as I remember it. It leaves some scenes out, but it gets the mood and doesn't change anything too significantly. I did not read very far beyond the content of this one episode...

I like Kyouhei (@AsuraCryin - whose name is eminently forgettable), despite his apparent lack of spine, because of his basic rebellious nature, even if that rebellious nature is shown in his desire to just be left alone by "the shrine". Shiba is one of the most beautifully drawn, wildly out of proportion "Barbie-doll" anime girls I have ever seen. You can almost ignore the fact that she would have chronic lower back pain from carrying that amount of weight on her upper chest all the time, because she is not frequently drawn (from what I have seen in the anime and recall from the manga) in skimpy attire with tons of cleavage showing. She tends to wear sensible cloths with either high neck lines or turtle necks, which is what a modest, overly endowed girl would do. It doesn't have the same negative impact that the same basic body style had for me in shows like Freezing and High School of the Dead, where I felt that the outrageous proportions detracted from the story. The little sister character, Utao, is a bit annoying and a fairly standard shrine maiden character, but also cute in a very nice, little kid kind of way.

The story is full of well used tropes and cliches, but that is not necessarily a problem, as long as they are used to tell a good story and not the story in its entirety. So far it seems to be telling a fairly good story, with some mystery and a fairly dark, more mature tone than most stories of its kind.

As for the "excessive blushing", I would point out that many of the characters were rip-roaring drunk for the first several minutes of the episode, which is frequently shown with increased facial coloration, which does actually happen when drinking.

2nd episode bored me a little. The characters are so... dull..

I do like the robot song though.

The backstory for episode 7 was really great even though it was fairly predictable what happened to their sensei. Makes me like Aki more now and it makes him even more like his doppelganger Accelerator. I still don't understand why the village just didn't kill him.

This anime has actually been pretty good so far and I think its been shaping up to become one of the better animes for this season even though I wasn't quite expecting it to. I found the backstory in episode 7 to be good as well even though you kind of knew what the end result was going to be from the start. I was expecting the reason for Kyouhei giving up being a seki to be tied to the events shown at the beginning of episode 1 rather than the backstory in episode 7 though.

I dropped it after 2 episodes. May I'll pick up later. I didn't like the robots for some reason. They just kind of make the show strange in a lame kind of way. It's hard to describe I just don't like them and how they do the fighting for the characters. It reminds me too much of a rip off or Shadowstar Narutaru.

Honestly, it's been good so far and the backstory made me rage (in a good way of course). I think the main thing we're waiting for is what the village is hiding from the Seki.

That. Loli. Is. So. ADORAAABLE

Totally going Rena on her. THERE SHALL BE NO STOPPING ME.

But, otherwise, it's enjoyable. Probably a 6.5/10 from me. A 6.5/10 on the good scale, that is. I rate things as such:

Bad scale 1/10
Good scale 1/10

A 1 on the "Good" scale is average, a 1 on the "Bad" scale is downright putrid. A 10 on the "Bad" scale is below average, and a 10 on the "Good" scale is a wondrous gift from some omnipotent being.

mmm now they introduced the crying girl in the very first scene in episode 1.

So far I liked the direction of the story. I agree this title got cliche here and there.Oh well ,it still interesting enough to watch.

Just wondering if everything will be wrapped up nicely in just a couple more episode?

Next episode should be really interesting. They're starting to unravel the opening scene and the power that Kyouhei had (or has).

gaman ..watashi mo

Lets see how this one ends

UPDATE:
The series finished at episode 13 and left a very open ended ending. Now the story is starting to center around Kyouhei.

So I hope they have funding to work on a sequel or OVA at least when there is more story written by the mangaka.
