wait..we got r-15.. i was just talking about this with Hirruo last night..oh god here we go

Obviously, its not going to be a masterpiece you know that, but if it does good at its genre and is actually funny then we might have a good show here.

Well that's quite the trio of comedies which is my favorite genre. Usagi Drop sounds intriguing on the premise for its genre, while Cat God (I got a cat and he insists seeing all cat anime, heh ) and R-15 (harems...could go either way of good or bad generally) sounds like simple fun.

i will just let you know from other sites it says the guy is an ero novel wirer "porno writer" so I think cr is watering that down or not waning many to know, perhaps I am wrong but still.. oh well it looks like it will be fun

Glad to see CR picking up some of the same titles as NicoNico. Their service has... left something to be desired.

Yeah I saw that on other previews too elsewhere for this particular series hence my 50-50 take on it. Oh well that's why next week will be time to screen a bunch of new anime episodes, hurrah!

the manga is around 6-7 volumes, look at most anime with adapts with only 12 epiosdes, they will be lucky to cover 1-2 volumes if that for the anime. You have to and others have remember 99.9% of anime never stay true source material unless it's shounen anime.

Not true at all.

Shounen, especialy long series, tend to have filler added.
the worst (best?) examples of being altered for anime, FMA, Hayate no Gotoku! (series 1) and Pani Poni (Dash) are all shounen .
It's more up to wether the author and publisher of the manga want it to be faithful or not.
See Dance in the Vampire Bund where the mangaka asked for it to be a very loose addaptation. (or CLAMP and Go Nagai adaptations never following the manga)

The most fathful adaptation I know of is Kanon (2006), which is the orignal game prety much exactly, every line is the same (almost nothing cut or added), all the backgrounds are near identical and nearly every scene is framed the same way as the original.

Gosick just got through 13 light novels in 26 eps.Higurashi's first season is 16 volumes as manga. Each ep of Katanagatari covered a whole novel.
You can adapt 7 volumes of manga to 13 eps fine.

See the comment on the scriptwriters interview with ANN on if it will be pased like the manga on the lines of wait and see. So this could a loose adaption.

even then i don't seem them covering that in the anime hell look at lotte's toy for example 90% of the source material is not even covered by the anime but I am just speaking from personal prescriptive. I have only personally read the higurahi visual novels so I don't know much about the manga to anime adaptation from that and gosick light novels are still ongoing in japan last time I checked. I do appreciate you pointing out where I was wrong on some points but I just don't see them doing the

To be honest though I prefer most source material over the adaptions but that just me, however it's not the case this time around.

Yuruyuri
Usagi Drop

R-15

LICENSED

Ro-Kyu-Bu! (Sentai Filmworks... no announcement for simulcasting)

Still up for grabs....
with additional info in this format (studio, premiere date, TV Station, time, other notes)

Double-J (DLE, 6/28, Nippon TV, 25:29 note: only 4 minutes per episode)
Blade (Madhouse, 7/1, ANIMAX, 22:00, note: probably will be passed on just like the other superhero shows)
MonHun Nikki Girigiri Airu Mura G (DLE, 7/1, Kids Station, 22:54, note: kiddie show)
Kami-sama no Memo-chou (J.C. Staff, 7/2, AT-X, 23:00, note: involves drugs, so simulcasters might skip this)
Ikoku Meiro no Croisee: The Animation (Satelight, 7/3, Chiba TV, 24:30, note: historical slice-of-life)
Morita-san wa Mukuchi TV (Studio Gram, 7/5, KBS Kyoto, 25:30, note: only 3 minutes per eipsode)
Nyanpire The Animation (GONZO, 7/6, Kids Station, 22:54, note: only 4 minutes per eipsode)
No. 6 (Bones, 7/7, Fuji TV, 25:15, note: noitaminA block)
The iDOLM@STER (A-1 Pictures, 7/7, TBS, 25:25, note: just like the game)
Mayo Chiki! (feel., 7/7, TBS, 25:55, note: combine the maid/butler high school comedy genre with cross-dressing)
Mawaru Penguin Drum (Brain's Base, 7/7, MBS, 26:10, note: new show by director Kunihiko Ikuhara of Revolutionary Girl Utena )
Manyuu Hiken-chou (Hoods Entertainment, 7/10, TV Kanagawa, 25:00, note: think Samurai Girls)

I expect to see No. 6, Mawaru Penguin Drum, Mayo Chiki! and The iDOLM@STER all picked up for simulcasting... since No. 6 is noitaminA, I'd expect to see it with either Crunchyroll or Funi (since CR already has the other noitaminA show, Usagi Drop); I can't see simulcasters completely passing on the overly hyped Mawaru Penguin Drum unless it's not put up for simulcasting at all...; Mayo Chiki! just has that typical simulcast kind of feel... the rom-com... someone always picks these up (same with The iDOLM@STER).

It also seems like a lot of shows are being picked up by more than one simulcaster this season too... so I wouldn't count anything that NicoNico or Hulu is airing out for possibly being picked up by CR (we already know that both NicoNico and CR are doing R-15, there could be more).

How did you sign up for premium there? I clicked on the register for premium in account settings and they said they aren't offering it yet.

Although I'm not sure about signing up for premium with them yet, especially if other places are going to be sharing simulcasts with them. I guess if they pull a Sentai and only let you see the first 2 eps if you're only registered and have to pay to see the rest then I'll have no choice, except I won't do it for Sentai, they usually have 1 show, so far Niconico has at least 5 unique ones right one time with airing in Japan.

The real reason for the post... CR's lineup is looking pretty decent this season, even R-15 doesn't look THAT bad...

There could be 2 other simulcasts that could be shared with NicoNico: Dantalian no Shoka and Itsuka Tenma no Kuro-Usagi, since those are apparently via Kadokawa.

It should be noted that Kaitou Tenshi Twin Angel was also apparently from Kadokawa, but as it has already premiered, apparently will not be shared with Crunchyroll.

Personally I am hoping that at the very least that Dantalian no Shoka (or The Mystic Archives of Dantalian as NicoNico lists it) is also at CR.

For those that are wondering why Kadokawa is dealing with NicoNico, the two companies are co-invested in each other:

I'm assuming iM@S won't be picked up.
It's easily the most hyped show this season, with iDOLM@STER 2 having come out fairly recently.
Aniplex (A1-pictures are owned by them) haven't mentioned the show at all, they've been hit and miss on simulcasts and very tight on region locking them.

Simulcasts have been of whatever the Japanese producers will alow/offer at a sensible price. Type of show makes almost no difference, which companies made it does.
