After seeing the new summer lineup for Crunchyroll I was excited to see the anime they licensed for this season. Then I saw the license restrictions which pretty much resulted me into downloading the anime I wanted. I know there is a U.K anime legal streaming site called animeondemand but they don't have as much of a selection since they just started and off course we are supposed to support them so they can get to where Crunchyroll is now. The thing is they charge more for their subscription with very limited shows that are about 3 episodes behind the latest episode with SD quality. Overall what I am saying is the more licensing restrictions there is with the new anime the more people will download illegally such as me myself because I paid for a subscription and they're not doing a good as a job as I hoped. I understand they can't get the license for every country and that their primary market is America but still the amount of anime they licensed for the U.K was abysmal and so far only found 1 anime that I'll be watching for this season . I collect the dvds and manga to support the industry as much as I can as well as subscribing to this site and i hate having to result to torrents when i can't get my hands on certain anime they release for the seasons makes me feel bad even though i should feel like a pirate.

I'd imagine just some studios have stricter region packages they agree to. Like typically Kadokawa doesn't seem to do UK. Probably not Crunchy's fault since I'd imagine they'd want as many regions as possible, but it might be out of their hands

if they got the license then there isn't much Crunchy can do about it, as RyanSaotome said Kadokawa does seem to restrict the UK a lot. and also if CR did get the license as well as Animeondemand then that would probably be too much competition for Animeondemand, if what you said is true that their quality and service is lacking, it might force them to shut down. anyways things could be worse.

Wow. Regional restrictions in Asia (except Middle East) is way worse than UK, mind you.

-Sacred Seven - Was licensed from Bandai and not the Japanese distributor... It's would be pretty hard for Bandai to give CR international rights when they don't even have them.
-Kadokawa Series - 3 (soon to be 4) of their series are on 1 week delay anyway. Your not missing anything.
-Usagi Drop - AoD will probably keep up to date with this one.

If your still not happy, do a little research into some features of your browser.

Most people would agree that it would be best for consumers if AoD and Niconico stopped getting clashing simulcasts altogether, but that's not in either companies best interests,...

I think they do try their best to get us stuff in the UK, ive noticed several US only titles slip accross to the UK in the last few months so its always good to see that. Getting permission to show as much as they do must be a total nightmare, we dont have anywhere near the amount of distribution houses that the US have so it limits CR to only be able to release things that the original owners allow. Its not a perfect system, but i have to be thankfull for the hundreds of episodes we do have access to, ive yet to come accross a show that is available to the US that i havent been able to stream in the UK but im sure i will eventually.

Blame Animax for that. They're morons and they monopolized licensing rights for the entire Asia region. Speaking of that, CR now doesn't give a shit about the rest of the world. In the past they did and it was great like the Spring and Winter anime seasons even in Asia. Sooner or later CR is gonna be like Hulu with restricts to US only. Don't say I warned you if it really happened.

I thought Animax was just sucking on Funi/Viz/Bandai's d**ks. Animax once made simulcasts but it didn't last.
