After finishing watching the first episode, one item that stuck out in my mind is that from the moment Saya leaves school until she arrives home, we don't see another human being. There is no one around the school, the streets in town are deserted, and I didn't notice anyone in the shops she walked past.

Also, the "clumsy, but good at athletics" just doesn't mesh, but it is not as if other anime have not ignored such realities.

To be honest, she was only clumsy in the miko dress.

I think Blood-C follow a similar pattern of event that you normally see in old anime.

Before school event(s)> In-school event(s) > After School event(s)/Mission briefing > executing mission > post mission event

I hope that the next episode will not follow this pattern otherwise the story would be too predictable.

This isn't necessarily true. If you saw Episode 2, you'd noticed that she does trip while in her school uniform.

I'm not going to bother watching more, episode 1 was rather.. For a lack of better of better words, not good.

Didn't like Saya's hairstyle and that whole "too-goody-shoes" thing was taken too far if you ask me. I mean, get late to school because you were picking trash in the streets? Please, spare me. I can understand helping an animal or a human that is hurt or in danger, but trash? Nope.

The twins looked like copy-pasta (I mean, I've seen anime before with identical twins, but you could still get a feel that they were different - these two are 100% the same in everything), the whole "plot" seems rather silly.

Oh and Saya is in love with her dad. Maybe I'll watch it sometime when I'm in a silly mood, but not now. It's just not that good. I'd rate the episode 5/10. Just enough to make me watch it and make some inane comments about it.

I hope episode 3 picks up a bit, because I got a bit excited at the end of episode 1, and really hoping the story will get driven but it's still slow at the moment. Got to love the Opening tho

So far the formula for the show is 15 minutes of saya going through her everyday life and then coming home and switching personalities to dark saya to slay monsters at night with a good 2 to 3 minutes of nothing happening before finally getting to the action.

I'd say it's a little more complicated than that.

mmm not sure what's going on yet but there's more than surface impressions would lead you to believe.

The story started to pick up a bit with episode 4 but the plot is still rather slow moving so far. I'm sure its leading up to something I'm just not sure when its actually gonna get there. I do kind of like the formula of how each episode starts out with Saya doing her normal routine and then fighting a demon at the end of the episode as it reminds me of some older animes like Cardcaptor Sakura where pretty much every episode started out as a normal day yet they almost always wrapped up the episode by capturing a clow card.

From a practicality standpoint, a miko outfit would not be as easy to move in while fighting.

Before this episode, I considered making the comment her father must have some ancient family secret for getting blood out of clothing. With this latest episode, however, it was obvious that wasn't going to cut it. Given the cost of school uniforms, and often the restrictions placed on acquiring them in Japan, and it seems this isn't about practicality, but simply appealing to the school girl uniform fetish in the audience.

This series is beginning to give me a sense of uneasiness, which I am confident is quite intentional. I would not be surprised if we find out that Saya's father really isn't her father. I even have a sneaking suspicion that Saya may be the one responsible for the death of the woman she thinks is her mother. It is being made increasingly clear the elder bairns see her differently than humans.

I found the series a bit dull at first (and a bit disappointing as I like Clamp and enjoyed Blood+ so I was expecting great things.) I liked episode 4 though as they are starting to reveal just enough to keep things interesting.
