uh.... i don't like the main character's ADD/bipolar personality. Her clumsiness is fine, but there were so many times i imagined it would get better. Especially when she was going home and saw a CAT. I was beginning to see her as an interesting person who can think clearly. Then she completely turned me off with, "OOO, there's a CAT."*I'm happy again.* not expecting this anime to be interesting
You are talking about the animal that has the lines on its forehead, I take it? If you are, that's not a cat, it's a dog.

A lot of stuff is finally starting to happen but so many questions! Who really is Fumito and what does he want with Saya? Same goes for their teacher and what is up with the dog? Also doesn't she remember what happens at night? Up until now I thought she was the same person at night but only what should I call it... in "Serious Mode" but now it seems like it's a split personality and that her "Night" personality is starting to invade her normal one...

Then there's the Covenent. The teacher said that it was pointless talking to the creatures because they only see humans as food but there was clearly some sort of agreement or pact between the two races considering that they keep mumbling "Honer the Covenent!"

Oh... fuck... all these questions... don't be like... LOST... answer them!

Then again I'm clearly ranting a bit and it's only episode 5 yet so I'm sure we'll get our answers. Episode 5 was good, a lot of stuff happens and at the end an Elder Bairn attacks during they day. It's gonna be interesting to see what happens in the next episode.

Wooow so many haters.
I don't get it; combine the masterful shojo art styling of Clamp with the best fight choreography and animation in years and you'd think this show would be a sure bet. The plot is subtle and a bit slow, but it does move; we already know that Saya is some kind of monster queen, she's been hypnotized to ignore her fighting abilities and think of herself as an ordinary girl, and unlike the previous Blood shows she has been manipulated into fighting her own kind Before she knows her true identity. I think this show is going to be much more effective with an identity revelation that tears her family apart rather than pull them together. Of course Saya is sappy with her "Dad", she's been hypno'ed to think like that! Of course she's clumsy in school, it's the perfect disguise! I'm glad that the writers have left things vague when it comes to how much "school Saya" knows about "fighting Saya" and how much they both know about "previous Saya". Too many animes leave memory blocks/amnesia as a convenient on/off switch, when a little bit of muddiness can add lots of flavor to the show.
The martial arts animation here is visceral, amazingly detailed, and most of all bloody! This stuff is the exact opposite of Bleach and Dragonball Z (maybe that's the problem?), Saya's skill is awe inspiring and jaw dropping to watch, but like real fighting matches, the animators leave the outcome in doubt, with every wound and knockdown you can see Saya hunting for the advantage and struggling to defend her life. Best. Intensity. Ever!
Maybe people were expecting a blood+ sequel or they can't see the details from bad pirated streaming quality? How do they hate the fights??? That really throws me off...

My impression of Episode 5: "FINALLY! The plot decides to show itself!"

Just like Mawaru Penguindrum, Blood-C has really been a bit of a "Wild Card" for me (meaning that I don't have a firm opinion on the show yet, but I'm interested enough to keep watching to see where it goes). In the first 4 episodes, I thought the action scenes were great, but the "school life" half of those episodes seemed a bit pointless and monotonous. However, Episode 5 seems to be promising a good pay-off after trudging through the first 4 episodes that are "so-so."

I'm liking it so far. It's not like either Blood+ or Blood the Last Vampire. Not that I am saying I like it better than either of those at this point, just that I think it's interesting. They did well with the fight scenes. They've been made to be pretty epic every time she fights. That's not really enough to blow me away or anything, but at least it's something I can look forward to just about every episode. The Demons or whatever they are Elder Bairns are creepy. So are a lot the characters. Most of the first few episodes I think were just about observing Saya to get a feel what her normal life is like. Wake up, wash all the blood from your cloths, pray in the shrine, eat at the cafe, go to school, come home, grab a sword, have an epic duel to the death with some strange powerful demon, go to bed and do it all over again the next day. Now that we observed her they are going to show us her life is going to dramatically change.

Here are some of my theories on where this is all going:
1. Saya is some kind of demon but she was raised by a human and doesn't know it.
2. The guy in the cafe is a demon and so is the leggy blonde teacher, they are just too creepy not be.
3. The black hair guy in her class that she likes I think is also a demon, but I am not sure whether he knows or not. That is why I think they are attracted to each other. Demon pheromones or something.
4. I think the dog is some kind of holy spirit or guardian. He seems be near shrines a lot. I don't think he has felt the need to intervene yet, and is probably content on the letting Saya kill the demons since she seems to be doing pretty well at it.
5. Here is one for all you Charleston Heston fans. "The Guimauve is made from people!" That is why Saya really likes it and it makes her light headed eventhoug she finds the taste strange at first, because she is a demon and demons like to eat people. It also backs up my theory that cafe dude is a demon for making it. He IS the only coffee shop in town you know. Therefore where else are all the demons in town going get their coffee and people treats from? You can expect them to just have plain old treats with no people in them. That would be boring and pointless for demons.

Okay, while I agree with you that fight scenes are awesome. I don't really agree with you about the part that fights are in doubt, at least so far. It's been pretty much the same story, Her eyes turn red and demon doesn't stand a chance when that happens. The fight is always over in seconds after that, and of course she is covered in blood when it's over. Her eyes turning red is kind of like when Voltron pulls out his sword of light, it's game over. and then you can't help but wonder, "why does he/she do that every fight and why doesn't he/she do that from the very beginning since no one can stop stop it?"

hmmm. I didn't notice that she doesn't remember that happened the night before. She is hurt so from fighting so I think she remembers everything. Maybe she blacks out when her eyes turn red. That would explain why she didn't seem to remember about the fight against the three demons well. Or maybe it must be something to do with her recent headaches giving her short-term memory loss, Her demon spirit is probably awakening because of the " people"Guimauve Fumito has been feeding her. That is probably exactly what he is trying to accomplish. I'm pretty sure he is the guy going on about what it means to be human with all the blood in the glass bubbles. Anyways I think she knows because she acknowledges that it is her duty. She's probably slayed demons on a regular basis for a long time because her father raised her that way and doesn't think much of it. As far the covenant goes, it's obviously news Saya, but I think it is obviously a deal that that humans brokered with the demon/monsters. Bascially, you have to let us demons eat few humans from time to time if the rest of you want to live here. Something like that.

The series was on a break last week.

You can always check Countdown to see the time until the next episode of a anime, and if you hover over the series image, it will give you additional info, including any programming notes, such as the note of the break last week. (That note is no longer there, but was present when I checked last Friday).

Stopped watching after episode 3. The only thing that's moved fast has been the combat. And I'm too old for that now a days
