Maybe there should be a section on the front page that site mods and up can edit for when there are problems.

From my perspective as a customer of the CR service there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the people who first hear about the problems and the higher ups that can actually put some kind of notification on the front page saying there is a problem. This disconnect creates confusion for the customers b/c in this case the info that "Hey the 720p video feed is down" wasn't even communicated to the paying customers, 720p only available to subscribers, and it was down for almost 24 hrs.

This isn't the only time that I feel the staff of CR has left us in the dark. A while back there was the problem where the videos weren't loading correctly and they constantly buffer, play 3 seconds, buffer....... Nothing was ever on the front page and this went on for a while. Supposedly there was a problem with a service provider that CR uses but the only way to have found this out is dig through the forum.

I just don't understand how all that clutter can be on the front page yet we are still missing some kind of CR service notification on it.

Sorry for the rant it's just the lack of communication has just really bothered me.

Without going into too much detail, please understand there's quite a distinction between Staff and Volunteer Staff. That in itself should self-explanatory in regards to how far and how much a volunteer can help out.

I understand what you are saying. I wouldn't expect a volunteer staff to jump through hoops or anything. And I understand that volunteer staff don't have the privileges that Staff have. I am just saying that there needs to be some kind of system set up. Again there were people that thought the problem was on their end, some users went as far as uninstalling software and reinstalling, and a post of some kind or a notification on front page would be helpful in these kinds of situations. It would also cut down on the amount of post made here on the forum which is where I am guessing the volunteer staff come into play.

As I said in the earlier post about the video problems earlier this year, nothing was said on the front page, and the problem went on for about a month. I know that actual staff knew about the problem but never said anything about it on the front page. A note on the front page, such as the one for checking out the new summer line up, that could have said something like "Some users in the U.S. may have problems with video playback. We are aware of the situation and are currently working on resolving it." and either have a link to a dedicated thread on the forum for the CR staff to give updates, or just a link to the video playback problems sticky in this section of the forum.

I am not trying to come off as rude or anything if that is what it seems like I am. I just wanted to give my feedback on the site in a thread i thought it would be relevant in. I love this site and I am just posting on a way that I think would make the site better. Oh and btw thx for getting the 720p stream back up and running.

I really don't think I had anything to do with them fixing it.

The problem started as an occasional 720p for me, now nothing works, not even SD.

Have tried updating flash, downgrading flash, different browsers, different DNS, and sending tech support requests.

Am, using os-x snow leopard.

Other vid sites work fine.

Other flash sites work fine.

Only CR is having the problem.

Works on my iPhone though.

None of the videos are working for me, either, and I've done nothing on my PC that would change the playback. It was fine about a week [maybe two] ago, but since then, all of the videos [even SD] stutter like crazy. It happens every few seconds, and any time I try to "seek" through the episodes, it takes even longer.

I love Crunchyroll, I really do. But it seems every few months or so something comes along like this and basically makes watching the simulcast shows unwatchable. And what a time for something like this to happen, with so many new shows starting.

Could it be a Canadian thing? I know a week back a lot of people were having issues with 720p things not showing at all [I never had this issue], as evidenced in this thread, but ever since that was "fixed" for them, it was around this time that I suffered the stutter issues.

I would really like to see a possible fix for this soon. I've already tried responding in the "Help with Video Playback Problems" thread, but to no avail. Here's hoping it gets resolved soon.

I am having similar "stutter/freezing" issues and it seems to get worse the closer to the end of the episode you get .... The 720p problem gets fixed and now this BS I am sorry CR but What the heck are we the user supposed to think?!? You have relayed that you are changing/have changed servers and other possible "upgrades" have had some "issues" If it is not broken why do you guys have to keep "fixing" and "upgrading" things just get everything working again like it was for almost an entire year since I joined and leave it ALONE!!! PLEASE!!! Things like this make me and I am sure others pull their hair out and wanna stop paying for this site which I think is tragic because I have been very happy with CR for a long time until recently!!
