@crossy no they wont be able to cure AIDS and they will just make cancer worse by adding more cells but they can be partially beneficial to people undergoing chemo

I agree. Down with abortion but since that isnt going anywhere let us at least make it useful. The problem is though if a market comes from abortion clinics we will never be rid of them. It has nothing to do with Church and state seperation and I am for research but people. Think about it. America is all about God. The reason Church and State seperation was made was so Christians could worship their God without having Catholics forcing catholocism on them. You guys totally turned it around but it is not because the state and Church are not to touch each other. Protesting is allowed so all of you can shut up. You protest against not having same sex marriage. Christians protest this. Get over it.

Edit: i agree PF the disease curing is good but cloning is definitely bad

So you're saying Christians can force their ideas of what is considered to be a living being on non-Christians? Is that not hypocritical? It should all be a person's choice. Christians should, ya know, just preach to Christians and not force their way of thinking on others.

The whole point of stem cells is the fact that they can form into any cell. We can systensize new cells which could possibly cure AIDS or cancer, no one knows for sure. And the whole thing with cancer is yes, it is a group of cells, but like white blood cells, there is a possibility of making a new cell out fo the stem cells that can break down a virus/disease, only this case, directed at cancer.

And yes, I'm back... for the moment. I've been watching anime, playing guitar in jazz band, etc. I've been around CR, but I havent posted in a while because... well, I have obligations and stuff. I'm so glad to have free time again.

Yeah, I remember that too. I came on pretty damn early. I was on a week or so before I even signed up for an account. I <3 this site. And yeah, nothings promised about the future, but hell, you gotta take risks for everything. We wouldnt be building a space station if we didn't take risks.

I'm soo glad to be back though. But now that I have free time I think I'm going to play a little more FFXII over the weekend. Its good to still be in the beginning, not even having Bashe or Penelo or anyone and being level 25. <3 powerleveling.

Limiting Stem Cell research is a dumb idea. They come from DONATED unborn fetuses right? Then what does it matter. If you are going to have an abortion anyway you might as well donate it to science. You let the baby die in vain? At least let it contribute to something. I mean sure people who have abortions may rationalize this way, but who the fuck cares if they are going to have an abortion anyway. Let them feel proud of themselves and we can cure cancer.

I agree although im 100% against abortion if your going to have one then just use the fetus soo it doesnt go to waste youve already murdered it why not @ least redeem yourself by possisbly helping save lives

I for one , cannot argue either side of the abortion aspect of this thread. I feel that while both sides make valid points, that neither is incorrect , or wholly justified. It is up to the individuals involved in the said abortion , as those are the ones who will have to live with its consequences.

As for stem cell research , I feel that no bit of material that may possibly be used for the greater good should go to waste. I myself am going to donate my organs to those who need them , and my corpse to medical science upon my death.

I think Abortion and stem cell research is horrible. You should watch "the silent scream"

to discuss stem cells, you at least need a bit of research on them. Try a book by Campbell & Reece called Biology. it tell you your answer in there.

i disagree, i dont need to research it to know i support it.

edit: altho i should point out that yes, i have researched it some, so i do know about it

can it help people? then i support it.

i have a friend who is 19, and hes been going out ith a 16 yr old for almost 2 yrs
recently tho, she got pregnant [which sucks], and if she doesnt get an abortion, he will go to jail, and her family will disown her
bad, right?

Stem cells treat muscular dystrophy in dogs. =P

Like I said. Abortion is bad, but stem cell research is good. If we can't stop abortion might as well put it to use. The baby is dead anyway. Might as well help people. Scientists don;t randomly go to pregnant people and force them to have an abortion. Scientists never randomly killed people to find out anatomy. Research is good, abortion is bad.
