Bae Yong-joon aiming for comeback next year

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon is looking to resume his activities next year, according to his agency KEYEAST on Wednesday.

An official at KEYEAST told 10Asia over the phone that Bae is aiming for a comeback within the first half of next year "although nothing detailed has been discussed."

She then added, "He is always looking into a number of scripts including those for films and dramas and is determined to make it be as soon as possible."

Bae, who rose to mega-stardom in Korea and throughout Asia with the 2002 hit KBS TV series "Winter Sonata" co-starring actress Choi Ji-woo, last starred in historical epic "Four Gods" in 2007 while making cameo appearances in school drama "Dream High," of which he was creative producer of, early this year.

However, he had halted all activities thereafter to treat a ruptured disc in his neck that he had first developed after falling from a horse while filming "Four Gods."

Outside of his acting career, he has been actively promoting Korean culture in Asia as well through various efforts including running a Korean restaurant in Japan and publishing a photo essay titled "Discovering the Beauty of Korea" last year that has been sold in multiple languages as well as being made into a television documentary.

Will Bae Yong Joon be healthy enough to lead a drama?

I read an article that he was suppose to make more appearances in Dream High, but he couldn't because of the injuries he sustained four years ago on the Legend set were still affecting him.

As far as I know, they didn't make him do any heavy lifting in Dream High (as in, his role didn't call for much). If he couldn't handle his appearances in Dream High, how will he handle a 16 episode drama? Considering how fragile the media paints Bae Yong Joon's health, I find this comeback news of his very strange.

Bae Yong-joon active again in 4 years

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon is stretching his arms and legs for his new project soon.

According to the entertainment biz on the 10th, Bae Yong-joon will be going over his next project as he is starting his engine after 4 years since his 2007 TV drama "The Legend".

Bae Yong-joon made a short appearance in the drama "Dream High" he helped to produce but it wasn't his official role.

Bae Yong-joon had been saying there were many things lined up and ready to go for him but he is especially interested in a particular drama. This drama was planned 3~4 years ago but requiring a top star and overseas shooting at the same time, it wasn't easy to get on the starting line. However, it is being sprung to life with Bae Yong-joon showing interest.

While Jeong Woo-seong, Hwang Jeong-min and other top stars have decided to appear in this drama, whether or not Bae Yong-joon will move a step closer is in question.
