I think they should have accents in dubs to make it as real and as true as possible. But, even when they do, I wish that the accents were more believable. Some of the voice actors do terrible accents...

For the most part if an anime's from a certain part of the world the dub I like it if there are appropriate accents, but if its a horribly fake american attempt at an accent then I'd prefer the actors to use their own accent. Not to say that all american (or any english speaker) voice actors can't cut a decent foreign accent though

Baccano's dub is the best example of english ADR/Dubwork. I suggest everyone watch it on Hulu to see a good example of when Accents should/Shouldn't be used, as well as to hear a great example of when the English track is better than the Japanese.

Aren't you a little too old to be watching anime?

Are you KIDDING me!?

Anime is an art form. It is aimed at all ages from child to adult. It's no different from movies and TV; it's entertainment. You don't outgrow formats of entertainment.

Telling someone "Aren't you a little too old to be watching anime?" is just as ridiculous as saying "Aren't you a little too old to be a. listening to music/ watching movies/watching TV/looking at art?"

The answer is NO, I'M NOT.

Please think before you post next time.

I saw a brief clip of Baccano a little while back. The dub actors are very talented.

What the hell!? No, idiot, do some research on the subject and you'll see the truth. FYI I have tons of friends my age and older and we ALL WATCH ANIME.

Look at the original poster's age: 24. Another who contributed is 20 and Cecilthedarknight who also contributed is 25. I'm sure they would not appreciate such a rude comment made to someone so close to their ages "for watching anime" because it's apparent they all watch it as well.

Are you trying to piss us off? It's obvious here that the only "lonely" one is YOU for wanting attention so badly. So stop acting like an immature little troll or I'm going to report your ass to a mod.

And this is the internet. People have the freedom and rights to complain about whatever they want. In this circumstance, it's really not hurting or offending anyone, so just let them carry on, huh?

Where do you get off being so high and mighty? Look you just sat here and continued to try to argue for no blatant reason while I'm just joshin' about. Can't say you didn't contribute in attempting in trying to agitate me. I simply played along.

That wasn't being "high and mighty", that was giving you advice: people are going to argue regardless of what you say so I think you're wasting your time.

Go watch some funny anime if you're so agitated. That always helps me calm down. In fact, I'll think I'll go do that right now.

Good day.

I agree with that. It was totally hilarious. I have a friend who is REALLY anti-dub and even SHE prefers Hetalia in English. XD
"It's more offensive that way", she says.
