Hey everyone! I hope that it's ok for me to create this thread here... I'm looking for some hw help regarding the types of video games we play. Here are some questions that I would like for you to answer:

1) Do you play video games rated M or above? If yes, continue to answer questions 2 and 3. If no, that's the end!

2) Do you find that you play violent video games more than other video/computer games? Yes or No

3) When I kill a character in a video game I feel sad? Yes or No

Thx for the help everyone who does respond ^_^
If you like, you can mention your favorite video games. I don't play that often but if there are any recommendations, I'll take them!

1) Yes, I find myself playing Mature rated games more often then not. On the basis I find 'grittier and edgier' stories much more satisfying.
2) Yes.
3) Yes. When I kill an NPC, an innocent one, I feel angst. Even if its just pixels and a simple AI, I feel an odd spout of emotions. I think "What would happen if I was walking down the street with my family and they were just killed mercilessly by a random guy in a power suit?"-- I don't go running around killing people in videogames unless they've done something to really deserve it. I pefer to be a 'technical' pacifist.

1. Yes, I play M-rated games. But not the typical ones. I play ones with actual mature themes, rather than "duh hur, violence."

2. Absolutely not. Unless you consider games like the later Personas and Ju-On to be violent, which I don't.

3. When I kill someone? Not usually. (You can count it for no if you need strict yes/no.) When the plot kills someone, maybe. I didn't feel sad at Aerith's death, but both P3 and 4 pulled some strings.

So yeah, if you couldn't gather, I like Persona, and the entirety of the Shin Megami Tensei line. I also like the Dragon Quest and Etrian Odyssey series. For non-RPGs, the Xanadu series (a few were released over here- Faxanadu and Legacy of the Wizard), Tetris (though who's not played this yet?), and The Guardian Legend. If you want a more specific genre, I can throw some out for that, also.

1.) Yes any games that are fun
2.) Aren't all video games violent in some way? So yes
3.) Nope, it makes me neither sad nor happy killing things (there is a whole lotta things to kill so yeah)

Fav. game is Metal Gear Solid 4, Resident Evil 4, Star Ocean Til the End of Time, and Starcraft 2

1: Yes
2: Containing violence, yes, more often T rated violence however.
3: It depends on the character, Innocent characters, particularly human ones, yes. Monsters, evil characters, or characters actively trying to kill me, no. Although in some cases, even if they are trying to kill me I avoid killing them, say a guard in Oblivion catches me stealing, I usually just run, even though my character is capable of easily killing him, it doesn't feel right for me to do so, so I don't
