Sigh, one that's only 3 minutes each and one that I have no interest in =/ ah well. Most the other titles this season are pretty awesome. Was really hoping for Mawaru Penguindrum, Kamisama no Memochou or Mayo Chiki. Hopefully Funimation will get them... though they seem to be pretty slow at getting those out. Still waiting on Baka and Test.

Well, I'll be watching Idolm@ster but I'm still hoping for Ikoku Meiro no Croisée.

Now get Nyanpire, Mawaru Penguindrum, Ikoku Meiro no Croisée, and Kamisama no Memochou. I will love Crunchyroll forever. I will even wait for the idolm@ster unless episode 1 is what is debuting on July 30th, then I might still watch the fansubs, but I will rewatch for Crunchyroll sake.

Why IdolM@ster Oh well, I hope Funimation picks up Mawaru Penguindrum and TAN picks up Kamisama no Memochou , as for Ikoku Meiro no Croisée if any legal site/company can pick it up and stream the anime that would be great til then I'll just put it on my watch later list |

Still waiting on Baka and Test. The problem with Mayo Chiki is that the primary network for it is TBS. CR hasn't had a simulcast of a TBS series in over 2 years. As I recall, Funimation had only one during that time (Dance in the Vampire Bund), which started well into the season, so it is true they are a better prospect. TAN had the only other TBS simulcast during that time (IS: Infinite Stratos), and it also started late (a first a the time for TAN, although it is obviously going to happen again this season). EDIT/UPDATE: Aria the Scarlet Ammo, simulcast by Funimation in Spring 2011, was also a TBS series. I can't recall any significant gap in Funimation's simulcast announcements in the past, so unless I am mistaken, that does not bode well for them having anything else new for this season other than Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu Ni!. I would say the best prospect is for Kamisama no Memochou, as even though Sentai's announcement for Ro-Kyu-Bu! included simulcast rights, TAN has not announced it. Further, Kamisama no Memochou is being handled by the same company, Warner Brothers Japan. |

I don't think Funimation is going to pick up anything else... they've got Toriko, One Piece and Baka to Test, that's about all they usually care to handle at one time it seems...
I'm a bit disappointed with CR's lineup this season as far as new titles go. I would imagine they did it this way because they have as many continuing titles from last season as new ones this time around, but the fact that 8 shows are late casts, 6 non-exclusive and the newest one not airing until the 30th, which is also 2 days behind the 4th episode is airing... still worth a premium membership but hopefully it doesn't keep heading in this direction. Also Sentai needs to drop simulcasting all together or go with the Funmiation/Viz model of free for all in 360p or license a few more titles... Maria Holic wasn't worth 6.95 a month, their back catalog isn't either, and it's probably why lolibasketball hasn't gotten a simulcast yet either because that title certainly isn't worth the money. Venting over... I love CR and all they've done for legal anime, but I hope they continue to move forward and not backward like they have this season. |

So far behind on anime... need to catch up

Is CR steaming only ep. 1 on July 30th or eps. 1-4 (I believe they would be on by then)? The post makes it seem like it's only going to be ep. 1.

I know there are a lot of viewers that like that kind of thing, I'm just giving a voice for anime that's more substantial. |

Funimation has stuck with two new simulcasts each season begining with Fall 2010 (with the exception of Toriko making 3 last season), so I would not rule out them adding yet another series as a simulcast. I think CR needs to work on establishing a new relationship, or at the very least, redefining their relationship with Kadokawa. Not having the Kadokawa titles available to premium subscribers until a week late is definitely a blow. I fear, however, that the relationship with Kadokawa is more likely to get worse than better. I do not know when Kadokawa's simulcast agreement with CR is up for renewal, but unless NicoNico bombs big time, I fear they could pass over CR completely for simulcasts at some point in the future. TAN did go with making IS: Infinite Stratos available for free members, but then reverted back to the old model with Maria Holic Alive. Frankly, I don't think Maria Holic Alive had nearly the "pull" of their previous series, so they may indeed be reconsidering whether they should simulcast or not. I really don't see them try to expand their simulcasting, as between CR, Funimation, and now NicoNico, there is not a much left. |
