I'm not sure if its considered Shonen but: InuYasha is the only one I can think of that has romance in it.

cross game has romance + baseball. it has points of view of both the boy and girl, and not your typical fighting manga, but im pretty sure it still classifies as shonen.
also rurouni kenshin. a "Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story" (a la wikipedia)
(third edit LOL. these keep coming to me) and there's also MAR aka Marchen Awakens Romance .

Chibi Vampire/Karin was definitely shounen, for both the manga and light novel. There are plenty of shounen manga/anime with females leads and vice versa with males as shoujo leads.
...Inuyasha was a shounen too 
To answer the question; My favourite shounen romances are probably Durarara, School Rumble, Code:Breaker, Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle, Youko (Inu) x Boku SS (Yay! for the anime next season!)

No, Karin was shounen. It ran in a shounen magazine, Monthly Dragon Age, which I'm pretty sure isn't a shoujo magazine. The manga felt shounen to me. Like said earlier females have been the lead of shounen stuff many times, like Soul Eater XD?
My favorite shounen mangas with romance would have to be The World God Only Knows , Gosick , and Bakuman

Eden No Ori. I've recently tried it, and it was some what good. It doesn't have the type of drama like most other romance drama has, which is probably the reason why I liked it.

Yup Add Code:Breaker to your list, It's got fighting and hints of romance. Oh don't forget Until death Do Us Part, definitely a must read for shounen and romance.

All I think of now is; Good Ending. ( I think it's named that )
It's Shounen and Romance, there's no action more "Slice of Life" and school stuff. The normal, plain, boring thing, like everyone says. >:I
