Are there any here?!?!
What bands are you watching/into? I'm kinda into this band I was recently introduced to: Within the Ruins and Absence of Fear (have some music posted on Newgrounds look 'em up)

Gotta say though all time favorite bands: The Fall of Troy, Dance Gavin Dance, and (lesser of the two but equal in awesomness) August Burns Red

Here's a prog-fan!
I'm not really into much core-music but The Fall of Troy was really interesting! Thanks for introducing them.

I listen to of Devin Townsend alot. He's the Frank Zappa of metal I just love Opeth and the later music of Ihsahn (ex Emperor). Planet X and Meshuggah are also some of my favourites. If you haven't heard Meshuggah then you need to check them out. I'm sure most metal-core bands have them as their influences.

They should actually have a whole section in the forum about J/K-pop and that kind of music and let the music forum get some space for other kinds of music. I mean, the music forum have no diversity at all. And don't me started on the music section. It's a JOKE!

Devin Townsend is awesome. Loved Ziltoid the Omniscient.
I haven't gotten that much into his other albums yet. I've listened to the title track of Deconstruction, and it's amazing. Gonna check out the rest of it.

I haven't heard anything by Isahn after he quit Emperor. Is it anything like Emperor?

Hmmm... I stopped listening to metal because now I'm obsessed with Britney Spears, hmmm..

I like bands like Devin Townsend (all of his work), Cynic, Katatonia, and etc. I really haven't followed the metal scene at all lately rofl. I dunno why, I really enjoy the music, I just haven't and I'm so lazy when finding new music.

Haha that album's awesome! My band's actually gonna play Hyperdrive on our gig on Saturday :D
You should check out his old band, Strapping Young Lad!

Check out Ihsahn here. It's from his lastest album, After.

What I like about Ihsahn is that his first solo-album reminded me of the last Emperor-album, which was the first songs I heard with them. The second had slower songs and also some vocals by Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth). The third is like the second but kind more experimental. So Ihsahn develops the music and sound differently on every album. That way it doesn't get boring or anything.

I saw Cynic at Metaltown last year. They were f*cking AWESOME!

if ur talking about me thank you so much, if not, damn....lol otherwize i forgot something amazingly important to all metal prog dudes, guthrie govan is one of if not the best guitarist of all metal prog sound (minus chug parts) and everyone should check him out, Paul waggoner from between the buried and me too, but everyone in the world should replace whatever yngwie means to you with guthrie. look him up its actually true. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEdl_a2vlXk thats my dude right there.

btw that ishan band is sick, thats pergamaster its been a while since i heard a good metal band not try to copy sikth, but i guess this is kinda old so w/e doesn't matter its still awesome.
