Do you think it's possible to watch every Anime ever created?
My friends and I talk about this a lot, some of us think it's possible while some of us don't, so I wanted to get some other opinions. |

it depends on the time you have in hand. but for ma it's impossible. there are lots of new animes being released every season. and you can't make sure if you already watched all the animes especially the very old ones. but maybe if you're awake 24/7 and just watching anime all the time :/
but it's more to impossible to me still. |

This is my life's goal, I swear. Unfortunately, as previously stated, there are so many new series being released. When paired with the ocean of already existing series, it just might be impossible to watch them all.

It's possible but you'd have to have no life, be single, and not really have much of a job.
Because if you think about it you have some 35+ YEARS to cover, and some of those series go into the triple digits for episodes. In addition some of those series have never been heard of in the US because they are so obscure or never been translated. |

Ignoring the time it would take, I would say it would still be impossible. The reason is that media for every anime that was created is unlikely to exist.
As an example, if there were a anime from the 60's that wasn't very popular in Japan, and never sold overseas, do you think the studio that made it bothered to preserve the film? Indeed, simply verifying the titles of every anime ever made, and the number of episodes for each would be a monumental task. |

Yes, that's my real age.

Its impossible, you'll have to be a loser with no life, no work, but is somehow capable of having enough money to support your insane task in order to watch every anime in creation.
Even from a technical standpoint its still downright impossible mainly because you will have to scavenge some ancient/unpopular anime that have never been release overseas, never heard of, and the worst part is you might not even be able to purchase them. |

I think it's impossible because there is likely to be at least one that you just won't like or that makes you bored and trust me nothing is worse than feeling you wasted your time doing something. Well there are worser things but it's definitely up there...

Of course it is...you'd just be very, very, very disturbed and old at the end of it all.

The question as to whether or not it would be physically possible is pretty much irrelavant unless you'd be willing to live a completely one-dimensional life and somehow manage to support yourself in the process.
Even if you truly love any artistic medium, you have to mediate the often inherent urge to engage in it obsessively. That would seem most appropriate with a medium like anime where there is certainly a lot of chaff to wade through. |

Don't forget that there are many awful animes. You can marathon a season of a good series in one sitting, but for a bad series it's like work just to watch more than one episode.

I think the biggest question is, how much will you actually remember? 30 TVs showing different anime shows - engage! Focus on the ones you like the most.

In general, one is going to run across shows that aren't to their liking at all, and I don't think anyone is without genres of fiction that suit their whims while others just piss them off. |
