Kaede entered one of the practice rooms and set his violin case on the table, before his eyes went to the piano that was set on the other side of the room. But he knew he would have to practice the violin even though he loves the feel of the keys pressing against his fingers. It was magical whenever he played the piano, but the magic had to wait.
He picked up his violin and set it under his chin, and before he could play a single note, his cellphone rang.
With a loud groan, he picked it up and rolled his eyes when he heard his brother's voice. "Kaede."
After a long pause, Kaede finally sighed and said, "Hey Ren..."

Aimi walked through the hall, looking for an empty practice room. She stopped at one practice room peering through the door's window at Kaede, who was talking on the phone at the moment. He had a violin, which made sense when she remembered Kaede telling her that his parents wanted him to play the violin..... It made her sad when she remembered how bitter he had sounded when he talked about it. She didn't think Kaede should have to be forced to learn the violin if he didn't want to. But then what did she know?...she turned, still staring at Kaede as she slowly entered the practice room right next to his. Then she got to work on perfecting those song. She would sing them a million times if that's what it took to perfect them. She didn't mind though, she loved these songs and probably would have sang them a million times (and maybe more) anyways.

"What the hell do you mean I'm not good enough?! Are you kidding me?! I have been practicing my ass off learning these new songs on the violin and you're telling me I'm not-"
Kaede was interrupted once his brother cut in. "Mother and father don't want you here. I'll take your spot." He said it so blankly and so expressionlessly that it pissed Kaede off even more. How can he just talk to his own brother like that? As if they were complete strangers. The whole thing just made him go insane. It made him want to hang up and just forget that he had a family in the first place. It would make things so much easier....
"You can't just take my-"
"It's already decided little brother. Goodbye."
Before Kaede could say anything else, Ren hung up on him.
He held the phone to his ear and gritted his teeth. "You stupid bastard...." he murmured under his breath. Without even thinking twice about it, Kaede chucked the phone and threw it hard against the wall, the sound echoing throughout the room.
He could care less right now....

Kaede slowly opened his eyes and took out an earbud and turned to look at the familiar face. "A-Aimi?"

Aimi looked around nervously, trying to remember why she came and interrupted Kaede in the first place. "I heard something crash against the wall...and it sounded pretty loud so I came to see if everything is alright..." She looked at him, tilting her head to one side. "Is everything alright?" she asked, seriously caring.

He didn't want to answer. He didn't want to open up again, but somehow, Aimi made him feel it was alright to do that. To talk about what he was feeling. Without answering her question, Kaede looked down at his hands and twirled the earbud with his fingers.

"oh.." Aimi said. Without saying a word, Kaede had told her how he was feeling....Sitting down directly in front of Kaede. Looking into his eyes she said intently, "Kaede, do you think you could tell me whats wrong?" She realized how bold she was being, it scared her. what was I thinking, he probably doesn't want to talk to me about why hes feeling this way...nobody else has ever wanted to talk to me about that sort of stuff....but then again, Kaede is different she thought to herself. She felt like Kaede was the closest person to her...He was the first person to actually talk to her(and not the fake version of herself) in a long time. For that, she felt eternally indebted to him..

He looked up at her and felt like he wanted to tell her. Tell her everything, but he was hesitant and fearful for some odd reason. With a loud sigh, Kaede finally met her eyes and locked their gazes together. "My brother just called. You see, I was supposed to go to England to play a performance with the violin. I had practiced for months and months....Then he calls..." He gritted his teeth and shook his head. "Apparently, I am not good enough for my parents. So they dropped me, told me not to come, and chose my perfect older brother to play at the concert....All that hard work....for nothing.." He let out a sigh and tore his gaze away from Aimi. But she wanted her to know how he felt. How much it pained him that his own parent's didn't want to see him.
So he took her hand and laid it on his chest, right above where his heart would be.
"It aches.....I can feel is aching Aimi...."

Kaede's eyes went wide and he was hesitant to wrap his arms around her small body. But he did. He circled his arms around her and held her closer, closing his eyes while he was trying to forget everything....
"Thank you Aimi...."

Aimi loved the feeling of someone being so close to her. And she was glad that someone was Kaede. She wanted to stay like this forever but she knew she couldn't. After a while she pulled away and looked at the piano, then she looked back at Kaede. with a half smile on her face she asked. "do you think you could play for me?"

Feeling Kaede's heartbeat made Aimi's heart break. She knew exactly what it was like to feel like you're never good enough. She remembered all those times when she felt that way and how alone she had felt. She leaned over and hugged him tightly, her body slightly shaking, "I know how that feels and....I'm so sorry.." she whispered in his ear...

Kaede's eyes went wide and he was hesitant to wrap his arms around her small body. But he did. He circled his arms around her and held her closer, closing his eyes while he was trying to forget everything....

Kaede loosened his grip from her and looked over to see the piano sitting there as if it was never been played before. A small smile formed on his lips and he nodded his head. "Yeah....I could."
Kaede slowly stood up and extended out his hand to her smiling as he said, "Here."
