What was the last book your read for your own entertainment? This may be a duplicated thread, but I am looking for suggestions on what to pick up next. A brief description is alright, but no plot spoilers please.

As an example: I just finished reading "House of Leaves" by Mark Danielewski. It's a book about a book, about a fictional documentary about a peculiarly haunted house that doesn't exist. If you have read it, or do read it in the future you will know what I mean.

Thank you in advance to all who post.

The last book I have picked up was Back on Track: The Diary of A Street Kid by Margaret Clark.
Basically the story is about a street kid and her horrifying adventures in the streets. It's a good read, but can get a bit graphical.

But the last book I read for fun was Lolita by Nabokov, one of my favourite books that I just recently bought..
And currently, I have been reading mangas such as Addicted to Curry, Getbackers, Gakuen Alice and Furuba (fruits basket).

I remember seeing a film version of Lolita years ago. I cannot recall if it was based on the same book though. Also, I have not read Lolita before, so I might pick it up. Thanks for the recommendation.

Oh I see. You should read it. It's definitely worthwhile.

No problem. :)

Have you read any of the more recent Forgotten Realm's books by Salvatore? I hear mixed reviews.

Was Hannibal Rising better in print form? I wasn't very impressed with the film version.

I take it you were reading it to them. I am not so certain I could get up in front of a group of children and do that. In some of the classes I have taken recently presentations have been neccesary, and I just hammer it out without thinking about the group in front of me. I know it can be difficult to keep the attention of children (former roommates had two children). I am getting off-topic though. Very sorry.
