personally, i watched planet of the apes..i don't like the movie, i was so disappointed..it seems like this movie is pointing out the study done by charles darwin..if humans came from apes then all apes should be human now..this is like a part two..i'm not going to watch it..this is just my opinion..peace..

Sorry if this comment doesn't help, but I don't really have anything to say about it.

The first ORIGINAL Planet of the Apes came out in like... 1973 or soemthing.. I haven't seen it, but i know that they made a couple others after that. . .

In terms of the newest one, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, it was actually really good :0 also because i liked the cast XD
But i was hoping to see the aftermath of the apes' takeover but you don't see it :p

RotPotA was like District 9 in a lot of ways.

First of all, the ape actors were really humans in spandex hopping around on those high tech bouncey things. Obviously this is done so we can relate to the non-humans.

Sadly people will prefer Avatar over both of the movies I speak of above.

This is quite good, even better than the remake that came out in 2001.

The story is quite good, Weta provided some nice special effects and the cast (especially Andy Serkis) put up a great performance.

I really am curious to see what happens next.

While I wouldn't call myself a fan of the Planet of the Apes franchise, I was pleased with the movie. When I first saw the trailer, it looked like it was going to be yet another gritty reboot and that somehow Caesar lead a group of apes (a shrewdness of apes?) to take over a major US city and then the world. Instead, the movie manages to be as interesting in characterization and intelligent in themes as the original film. I would have preferred a faster pace, but I'm glad I saw it (unlike the 2001 version).

I watched the screening for it. I actually really liked it although there were some parts that I didn't, but overall it was good! Bonus part was it was filmed in my city!

I enjoyed the original Charlton Heston Planet of the Apes. I thought the Mark Wahlberg remake was terrible. Surprisingly, this movie is actually pretty decent. Rise of the Planet of the Apes shouldn't really be thought of as a prequel, but rather as reboot of the series. While I admit to having rather low expectations for the movie, I found it entertaining . Rise of the Planet of the Apes provides a good setup for the inevitable primate domination. I would recommend giving this movie a chance, you may end up enjoying it.

I really enjoyed it!! It's great how the movie exposes certain animal rights issues. A pretty good reason for apes wanting to dominate humans

This thread is way old but I'll bite.

It was pretty good, like someone above mentioned: it should be seen as more of a reboot. I really enjoyed it
