Go with the flow.
Have fun.

The MHC Rules

1) Fighting with other Ringmasters without a valid reason is a NO.

2) You cannot leave the Circus grounds without notice.

3) Killing another Ringmaster or their Guardian is treason. You'll atone with your life.

4) Betrayal is absolutely unforgivable.

Information on the MHC

It was ungodly, the noise that threatened to break down his door. The loud rapping sound of knocking, that strokes him awake from his slumber. Unable to even think properly, Madara climbed down from his bed, with closed eyes. He threw the door open with triumphantly.

“Do you have any idea, what time it is?” He asked the uninvited guest, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “There’s a reason they made clocks. It’s not just for show, ya’know.” Due to the late hour, his voice was deprived of its usual haughtiness.

As Madara took a closer look at the guest, he noticed a few things.

One, he bit his nails to the butt.

Two, he looked just as annoyed and tired as Madara did.

Three, he really did not want to be there.

Now it wasn’t the obvious neglect of facial emotions that gave it away. Or the fact that, he looked itching to relieve his early morning bladder, but rather because he had blandly introduced himself, and told Madara to ‘please shut up’ along with the above, that combined so perfectly to create the bright “CAUTION: HIGH MAINTENCE” sign that flashed above his head.

The boy’s name was Richard, or something. Second Division. And acted like he hadn’t been taught a day’s worth of manners.

All of which Madara omitted from his mind. When he heard what the boy had to report.

“There’s a Lucifer spotting downtown, down near the pubs. A unit has been dispatched. But have all returned injured. It seems this one is stronger than the rest. I have orders to rally up you and Ringmaster Fujiwara.” Says Richard, or something. “I tried Ms. Etoh’s room. But she is not there. If you could get her and follow me.”

Madara snorted. “If you can’t find her, then you’re truly out of luck. Luna doesn’t tell me where she goes.”

“But… you’re her Guardian.”

He cocked a slender eyebrow. “Yes, not her mother.” He reached inside the dark room and retrieved a jacket that he threw over his shoulders. “Where did you say the Lucifer was?”

“U-Uh, downtown sir.”

Without so much as a goodbye, he was down the dimly lit hallway. And out the front door of the late Victorian dormitory he shared with Luna. Flying out the door with two feet, he landed on all fours. The minute his paws hit the ground, his animal instincts kicked in. Feeling Luna calling for him, he took off at a blinding speed.

Across town, in a pub the general public would not dare step foot in, was the slender build Etoh Fujiwara, who sat at the bar, with a ginormous mug of beer. She downed half the mug with a neat flip of her wrist, with her free hand she balanced a cigarette. The patron around her gave her cruel stares, as they took in the small star tattooed the nape of her neck.

Ringmaster.

They tainted the name, with sneers and snorts; all of which the girl ignored. Until, a tall, brawny man stepped up to her with face marked up by scars, slammed his hand down on the bar, causing her drink to slightly spill.

“My brother was killed by the likes of your people.”

Etoh took a draw of her ciragette, and turned slightly to man, blowing the puff in his face.

“It pains me to hear that.” She said sarcastically. “But we don’t kill humans, only people who have lost their way.”

The man spat, and sneered. “You’re not welcome here.”

Etoh didn’t even blink. “Are you going to throw me out?”

“I’m a liberated man, I’m not afraid to hit a woman.”

A smile perched slightly on her lips. “That how you got the scar?”

The man looked outraged as he took a swing at her that should’ve shattered her jaw. While the rest of the bar, looked on with horrid amazement. The only problem was, the girl was no longer there. She was standing a good five feet away, laughing, as the man’s fist connected with her abandoned glass. Shattering it.

The bartender was around the bar, with his hands knotted up in the man’s shirt.

“That’s enough Ty. Take a walk.”

Ty looked incredulous. “Take a walk? Don’t you remember-”

“I do.” The bartender’s voice was low. “She’s a Ringmaster. Walk it off, kid.”

Ty swore and took off.

Etoh was no longer smiling, she looked at the bartender with dark resentment, as if he had taken away one of her toys, she had intended to play with. “That wasn’t necessary,” she said. “I can handle myself.”

The bartender regarded the girl. “It’s my bar I’m worried about,” he finally said, “I’d take my business elsewhere if you don’t want no trouble.”

“Never said I didn’t.” Says Etoh, sliding coolly down to her seat. “Besides I didn’t finish my drink.”

The bartender slid her, another mug of beer. With a snort of disgust, and the bar went back to murmuring. Eyeing the girl, as if she were the barrel of a gun.

When suddenly the door to the bar few open, and Ty was standing there in the doorway, face now pale, and a bloody cut ran across his chest. Immediately everyone was out of their seats, rushing towards him. “An attack,” he said. “There are bodies in the alley. Lucifer. Blood—everywhere.”

The commotion around her lasted long enough for her to drown her drink, finish her cigarette, and slid off her seat. The mob of people parted like the red sea, as she passed them. Barely giving Ty one last chance, before she was out the door, into the dark night.

“Where are you, Lucifer?” She said with a gleaming amusement. That was as deathly as it was beautiful.

The world around her was dead silent, when out from the dark alleyway, strolled a man dragging along the bloodied corpse of a woman. A smile flashed on his disfigured face, as he dropped the body without so much as flinch.

“You called? Pretty girl. Do you have a wish? I’ll grant it for you…” He said. “In exchange for your soul.” He flung himself at her, brandishing his claws, and his fangs bare.

As his claws were about to come in contact with her thin frame, he was knocked sideways by a large force.

A white tiger.

“I do.” Etoh said.

Madara immediately formed into the shape of a gun, grasping the handle. Etoh pulled the trigger.

“To kill you.”

Artemis was absolutely pissed. A concerned leopard circled around her warily, flashing occasional glares to the Ringmasters lined up in front of them. It was way too early for this, and Artemis hated being up when it wasn't necessary. She wanted to punch these idiots until they bled, but Cor was making sure she kept herself together. And that wasn't going too well.

"You guys were... partying...?" Artemis asked, her voice not raised, but still laced with anger.

The Division Four idiots bowed their heads in shame, not even daring to make eye contact. The smell of alcohol hung heavily onto their clothes, and many of their cheeks were blushed with drunkenness. Some could barely even stand, grabbing onto their friends for support. How the idiots had sneaked out, she didn't know. But they were in a shit load of trouble.

"...You know what? I'm too tired for this. I'm leaving you guys with Ringmaster Helga," Artemis stated, yawning. The ten wasted idiots cried in horror, begging for anything but The Helga. Miss Helga was famous for her punishments, and people were never the same after spending even a day with her. Artemis was deaf to their pleas, motioning for the MHC guards to bring them over to Helga's special dorm, that was famous for its horror stories and tales. Cor watched in amusement as the fools were dragged away, crying and sobbing.

Artemis just rubbed her drowsy eyes, already making her way back to their dorm. Cor followed after her, yawning as well. That had been a complete waste of time. The two were met with a surprise, bumping into Etoh and Madara. They looked wide awake, obviously having been up way before Artemis and Cor. Perhaps a late night or early morning mission? Either way, Artemis was happy to see Etoh, immediately latching onto her with a hug. Meanwhile, Cor had changed into his human form, nodding a greeting to Madara, before slightly coughing.

Artemis, hearing the cough, immediately pulled away, flashing him an embarrassed smile, before returning her attention to Etoh.

"Did you guys just get back?" she asked.

claire + aldor

A banging on the door followed by an abrupt exit.
Hours later...
"Claire, ...Claire!" Aldor, in his fox form, began pacing in circles on the bed attempting to awaken his master.
"Aldor.. shh... sleepy time. Good fox." Claire murmured, still half asleep.
"A few of your roommates have gone missing..." he whispered.
Claire shot up out of her bed. The room was dark, she waited for her eyes to adjust to see the empty beds.
A sour look appeared on her face. "Why the little... The nerve of some people..."
"I know, I know. They'll be severely punishe---"
"THEY DIDN'T EVEN INVITE ME!!" Claire punched the air with both fists.

Aldor reverted to his human form to bump Claire on the head.
"Not the idea here Claire... Wait, somebody's coming."
Claire walked towards the door to hear someone knocking.
She opened to see another female Ringmaster of Division 4.
"Claire, did you hear? There was a Lucifer found downtown."
"No kidding? At this time, sheesh." Claire shrugged it off. "Council business, I'm sure.
You wouldn't happen to know where some of my roomies went, would you?"
The girl laughed. "Oh yeah, they left a while ago. I heard Miss Cyra took care of them. I'm surprised you didn't go."
"Heh, I was asleep. Ooh, Cyra? Glad I didn't go then. I guess I won't be seeing them for awhile.
Well I'm not supposed to be up for a few more hours. I'll see you in the morning."

Claire shut the door behind her and lied back down in bed.
"What are you thinking about Claire?" Aldor, back in his fox form, settled beside her pillow.
"If I had gone out with them, would I have encountered this Lucifer..?"
"Council members were down there. They would've handled it otherwise."
"Yeah... the Council." She closed her eyes. Aldor laid his head down too.
Suddenly, she cried out "OOHHH! This kind of thing just makes me want to get up and train more!!"
Aldor used his tail to cover her mouth. "Quiet already! After you sleep some more you can, okay?"
She met his eyes. "Okay then Aldor."

"Are you still mad?"

Madara, leaning against the side of the rocking carriage said nothing. It was all in the look he gave her; he looked as pleasant as she imagined the gates to Hell would look. " I am not mad."

"Oh, yes you are." Etoh gestured accusingly to her Guardian, and despite the amount of alcohol swimming in her blood; she did so with as much grace as she would somber.

"I am not." Madara hissed through his teeth, even his human form; he looked every bit as deadly as a white tiger should. "Just because you woke me up in the middle of the ni--"

"I never woke you up."

Madara jabbed a finger at Etoh. "OH yes you did!" He said a voice trembling with rage. "If it weren't for you, I would be sleeping right now."

"Huh, I see." Said Etoh. "Than next time theres a Lucifer spotting, I'll just have to tell them over at the other divisions not to wake Madara up before sunrise. Since he likes his sleep, very, very much. Would that make you happier?"

Madara snorted at her, brushing the dirt from his shoulders. "Bite me."

Etoh leaned back against the carriage. "You have dirt in you're hair. Should probably rinse that out, before it hardens."

Madara pressed his lips together, with a incredulous look. As if he were thinking of something to say, but there just wasn't enough words in the English dictionary to accomodate him. "How is it YOU, never get any dirt on you?"

"I'm pure and innocent, it repels dirt."

Madara snorted haughtily. "Oh yeah. Than I must be filthy inside and out."

Etoh as just about to reply when the carriage stop to a halt with the sound of screeching breaks. "Ride's over!" The coachmen said, pulling the door open.

Madara followed Etoh out of the carriage, and down the path towards their dorm. His shoulders sank slightly, tired and sore from running. It also didn't help that it was the early morning. Or late, late night. It also did nothing to aid his attitude, when the couple bumped into Artemis and Cor.

Artemis was happy to see Etoh, immediately latching onto her with a hug. Meanwhile, Cor had changed into his human form, nodding a greeting to Madara, before slightly coughing.

Artemis hearing the cough immediately pulled away, flashing him an embarrassed smile, before returning her attention to Etoh.

"Did you guys just get back?" she asked.

"Morning Artemis. Always a pleasure to see you." He said, taking her hand, and kissing it.

Madara gave Cor no reaction in return. He just stood and stared pass him, as if he were a ghost. Ignoring him was something Madara came to do as a habit.

Etoh smiled, and elbowed Madara harshly in the gut. "We did. Some early morning business. What about you?" She said, pleasantly. But the minute she cocked her head around to face Madara, she looked as deadly as venom. "Aren't you going to greet them, Madara?" Her eyes wide and threatening.

Madara snorted. No way in Hell, princess. He said mentally.

"Morning Artemis. Always a pleasure to see you." He said, taking her hand, and kissing it.

Artemis laughed, used to Madara at this point. "Likewise," she grinned.

Madara gave Cor no reaction in return. He just stood and stared pass him, as if he were a ghost. Ignoring him was something Madara came to do as a habit.

Cor just shrugged it off, having gotten used to Madara as well. He actually found it quite amusing, so he didn't let it bug him.

"We did. Some early morning business. What about you?" She said, pleasantly.

"Aren't you going to greet them, Madara?"

Madara snorted.

"Same here," Artemis replied, sighing at the memory. "And it's fine, you two must be tired. You should get some rest."

But before she could say anymore, one of the Head's secretaries popped out of no where. Cor immediately tensed, and Artemis' face went blank. The Head's secretaries were famous for appearing and disappearing whenever they felt like it, popping up only to deliver bad news. They were also notorious for being brutal killers, who dealt with the MHC's dirty work. They were stronger and more powerful than most of the Council members, and had ridiculously annoying personalities. Just the way the Head liked them.

"Found you guys!" she smirked, as if she had accomplished something great. If Artemis' memory served her right, her name was Trish, or something like that. One of the Head's favorites. She was tall and slender, but curvy in just the right places. And maybe a bit too curvy, in some places. Many times, she had given Artemis' chest a pitiful look, which pissed the girl off to no end.

"Can we help you?" Cor stiffly asked, resisting the urge to hide Artemis behind his back.

"No need to be so wound up!" Trish laughed, patting him on the back. Cor immediately stepped away in disgust, while Artemis quickly wiped away the nasty germs on his back.

They were satisfied as Trish's eyes twitched, clearly annoyed by their antics, "I'm not some kind of stain, you know."

"Whatever you say. What do you want?" Artemis flatly replied.

She could tell that Trish was ready to punch her as she answered, "Head wants to see you and Etoh. Don't know why he'd be interested in puny sticks like you, but he wants to see you guys after breakfast. That's all I have to say. Until we meet again, watch your backs." With her whisper of a threat, Trish disappeared.

Artemis rolled her eyes, and Cor snorted. But pushing aside Trish's annoying attitude, the two were worried. When the Head called for you, nothing good came out of it. Most of the Council members had experienced it firsthand. Artemis sighed, hoping it was nothing too bad...

claire + aldor

Claire woke up almost automatically at first light. She spread the curtains open.
"Rise and shine Aldooorr!" She scratched her fox's head. His ears perked up and he opened his eyes.
He could see that Claire had already been up and gotten dressed.
They spoke telepathically, "Just a few hours ago you wanted to sleep."
"Yeah but that was then. I actually couldn't fall asleep after that."
"Hmph. I guess that incident got you all worked up huh?" Aldor did a cat-like stretch before jumping off the bed.
"Yeah, turn into your human form so we can get breakfast. I want you eating at the table now, not on the floor."
Aldor ran into the bathroom to a hamper with his human clothes in it. He came out, as a human, all dressed.
"Let's go then."

Claire and Aldor walked side by side to the dining hall. She pulled out her phone and began texting a few friends.
Aldor shook his head. "How do you know where you're going when your head is down looking at that thing?"
She continued texting while speaking to him. "Does it matter? I've been doing this for how long now? I'm a pro Aldor."
She put her phone away before getting her plate. The dining hall was especially noisy this morning with talk of last night.
Claire decided with eggs and french toast with a glass of orange juice. Aldor got a plate of bacon.. only and milk to go with it.

Claire frowned at his meal choice. "Aldor, really? That's all you're getting? Bacon?"
"What? This is all I'm hungry for right now."
"Aren't foxes omnivores? You can eat anything right?"
"True but I have a different palate from your typical fox."
Claire's frown remained. Aldor gave in. "Fine, I'll get a muffin or something."
"Good."

They sat down with their breakfast at a table with fellow Division Four Ringmasters and their Guardians.

“Now that is what you call a piece of work. Wonder who put nails in her cereal.” Madara snorted, grumpily. He didn’t like the secretaries. But would never dare cross one. It was just not done.

Etoh elbowed him slightly, before she linked her arm through his, and dragged him out through the dormitory doors, and into the courtyard.

It was daybreak.

The sun sat prettily on the horizon, in all its glory of colors. Golds and yellows beamed down upon the two couples, Etoh’s face was a contour of shadows and brightness.

“It’s a thing of beauty, isn’t it?” Madara said. “Not as beautiful as me, but it’s close.” He added.

Etoh was about to reply, when a voice interrupted her.

“Haven’t you ever heard, modesty is an attractive trait?” A voice polished with a pose accent said.

The courtyard was filled with secretaries, all of who dressed in cloaks shielding their faces; like unmasked assassins. Only they were much more dangerous.

Etoh turned to the source of the voice, stepping slightly in front of her Guardian, involuntarily. Like a reflex.

He had his hood drawn back, his grey eyes were empty, despite the amusement that lined his face. She knew him well, the well feared and well known Wesley Crew; head of the secretaries. He regarded her with a cocked eyebrow, and a ghost of a smile.

For a spilt second it was so silent, it was nearly deathly.

But Madara who didn’t miss a beat, stepped in front of Etoh, his broad back blocking her view of those surround them.
“Only from ugly people.” He said easily. “Which reminds me Wesley, how’re you?”

Although Madara had intended the pun. Wesley was by no means ugly. Etoh should know; she had dated him for a good month before he dumped her for a red head named Ivy.

they liked to p a r t y

Artemis and Cor trailed into the courtyard after Etoh and Madara, wanting to pass through and get to the Dining Hall. To their surprise, the place was filled with secreteries. Many of them were just lounging about, eyes eagerly waiting to spot some prey. This time, Cor didn't hesitate to pull Artemis behind him, frowning at the sheer number of them. Unfortunately for Cor, he hadn't been quick enough, and a few familiar faces jumped up and surrounded them in glee.

"My, my! If it isn't the beautiful Artemis," Casper crooned, reaching out to pat her on the head.

Artemis kept her face emotionless as she slapped the unwanted hand away, sticking even closer to Cor. How she hated these freaks. If he ever tried touching her again...

"Hah, feisty, aren't we?" Casper laughed, rubbing at his stinging hand.

"Just the way you like them," Sonia giggled, annoyingly smacking at her gum. She blew a bubble and popped it, causing another round of giggles to erupt.

"To what do we owe this pleasure?" Cor asked dryly, giving each of them pointed looks.

"If my memory serves me correctly, this courtyard belongs to us as much as you," Kain replied, his eyes never leaving the book in his hands. "We just wanted to see how our favorite Council members were doing."

"That's right, that's right!" Sonia tittered, now twirling her hair around her finger. "We just came to say hi, ain't that right, Casper?"

"Indeed," the secretary replied, grinning. He took a step closer to Artemis, his arm reaching towards her once again. The girl desperately wanted to spit on him, but Cor mentally warned her against it. So instead, she opted to slap it away once again. To her disgust, Casper caught her arm this time, twirling her away from Cor and into his arms.

"Can you not?" she asked flatly, not even trying to squirm out of his grip. Despite his slender frame, she knew he could overpower her in a second. Resistance was futile.

"The bastard..." Cor mentally hissed, completely ready to pounce.

"Don't you dare," Artemis warned.

Casper, not oblivious to Cor's anger, snuggled even closer to Artemis, who stiffened even further. "Artemis, why won't you go out with me? I've already asked you so many times! With flowers, even!"

"Casper, that's enough," Kain butted in, finally slamming his book shut. He tucked it under his arm as he gave the secretary a soft smile, that was more threatening than patient. "You're making Sonia jealous," he added, nodding to the girl. Sure enough, she was still standing there, arms crossed, tears pouring down her face.

"Casper... You... You said I was your most important one!" Sonia wailed. Cor couldn't help but snort, Artemis rolling her eyes. Casper immediately let go of her, whether it was because of Sonia's tantrum or Kain's scary stare, she didn't know. After one more look from Kain, he immediately went over to comfort the now sobbing secretary.

"I think you guys have had enough fun," a voice said, piercing through all the conversations. All sound and movement stopped, everybody's attention now directed towards the girl standing by the courtyard's entrance. Artemis and Cor groaned inwardly, not believing their eyes. What was with their luck today?

It was Celeste, Vice-Head of the MHC. Only twenty, and she had gotten so far. But no one questioned it. Her skill and talent were frightening. Not even the secretaries dared to defy her. Well... she was the Head's daughter after all. No one expected any less.

"Get back to work," she said, a flicker of annoyance passing through her eyes. Artemis let a satisfied smile slip as she heard Sonia whimper before disappearing with the other secretaries.

"And you two," Celeste added, looking at her and Etoh, "Come with me. The Head wishes to speak to you now." Without a second glance, she turned around and began to walk away. Artemis followed, sighing. She had wanted at least a piece of toast... Instead, she walked behind Celeste, as the Vice-Head led them towards the Head's private building.

Once inside, she made sure to keep close to Cor, due to the place being as creepy as ever. The hallways were endless, with so many twists and turns, Artemis was almost certain that the place was a maze. The walls were always cluttered with strange paintings and diagrams, newspaper articles, and stuffed animal heads. Some she didn't even recognize. Doors also lined the hallways, strange noises coming from behind most. After what seemed like forever, they finally arrived at a set of large, double doors. Various keyholes lined the entrance, along with keypads and strange buttons. However, instead of going through them all, Celeste simply kicked the doors open, and ushered them inside.

They were led into what seemed like a waiting room, a receptionist behind a desk and all. The strange thing was, there were no signs of other doors. It seemed like this was it.

"Wait here," Celeste commanded, and then in a flash of an eye, she disappeared.

The Head's office sure had changed since the last time Artemis had been here...

first post in a long TIME

September woke to Dru's large chest hanging in his face.

"Morning sunshine." Dru grinned, reveling a mouth filled with pointed teeth, "How did you sleep?" Her voice suggested she had no real interest in his sleep.

September shut his eyes and sighed. Dru's eyes began to sparkled with delight. "Was that a sigh or a moan?" She placed a hand on his's bare stomach and began sliding it downwards. With another sigh September abruptly sat up, "That's enough." Dru tumbled to the floor. She looked up bewildered and slightly hurt by his action. It was rare for September to deny her, her morning fun.

"I was only teasing you don't have to be so ruff." She grumbled brushing herself off. She was standing only in her undergarments. "Cover yourself," September croaked realizing this. Adverting his gaze he made his way across the room to his closet.

Mornings went like like this: Dru would taunt him in some way, he would do his best to ignore her attempts, and then they would leave for breakfast. It was routine and September was no longer bothered by it, much. She was after all his Guardian and had saved his life on multiple occasions. He owed it to her to put up with her attitude.

❀❀❀

September stocked his plate full of meaty entrées while Dru stuck to a cup of yogurt and fruit. After grabbing their food, instead of making their way to the Council table they both took a seat at the Division Four table. It was only recently September had been promoted to Council rank and had yet to make any new friends. He was still too nervous and unsure to sit at their table.

He greeted everyone at the table and joined the conversation effortlessly. Apparently there had been a battle against a Lucifer late at night. Why hadn't he been notified? All Council members were told when there was a strong Lucifer on the loose. This only reinforced the idea that he did not belong with those people. They all hated him. It was so obvious now. Why had he not seen it before? He was such a fool! To even consider that he might fit in with them. He would have to try harder next time he was around them. He had to be more friendly and welcoming toward them...

Dru sighed as September's mind raced. He was over thinking again, and whenever he did this it was so strong it broke through her barrier against his thoughts. Quickly regaining her composure she graced the table with a smile and greeted everyone just as September had. She paid special attention to Aldor. Today Dru wore a white lace dress that showed of her curves and had weaved white flowers into her hair. The color white was perfect for her, it contrasted well with her dark skin and hair, and gave the illusion of innocence. She hoped all of these factors would attract him to her.

"Good morning, September, Dru." Claire returned their greeting. Aldor was in mid-bite with a strip a bacon when Dru took the seat next in front of him. "Hey.. Dru." He continued eating, keeping his eyes on his plate.

"Well, I know you're new to the Council and everything but why sit with us? Rubbing it in our faces eh?" Claire pointed at him with her fork then took a bite of her french toast. The others' faces showed expressions of uneasiness. Aldor also gave off a sign of being a bit bothered. Claire noticed. "Nah, I'm just kidding you September. You're always welcome here." She said with a huge grin.

The Headmaster's clambers as always, induced paranoia in Madara. He kept his eyes angled, always looking back and fourth, at the various of doors that lined the walls, feeling as if someone was prepared to jump him, or even worse---Etoh.

He kept on hand around her waist, a gesture many found intimate, but to him; it was just natural. But considering their height difference, his arm was pressed gently against her back. Which involuntarily twitched every time he heard a noise; or thought he had heard a noise.

"It's lovely to see you, Etoh, Artemis." A voice suddenly said, causing Madara to slightly jump.

Scowling at him, Etoh nodded at the man that came through the doors, out of Madara's grip.

"It's been a while, Headmaster."

Despite his fearsome title and legacy, the Headmaster was not-unlike any other Ringmaster, he was charming, a face full of unshaven whiskers, and bright blue eyes. Like any other man you would see on the streets; the only difference was. He was beyond deadly. A man who could kill his victim, with a smile on his face.

A shiver ran up Madara's spine.

To which the Headmaster, smiled and winked at him; nearly taunting him.

Madara pressed his lips and said nothing. Let him taunt him, as long as his head was still attached to his shoulders; he was good.

The Headmaster took his place behind the large mahogany desk. Gesturing for the four of them to take their seats. Etoh and Madara shared the loveseat. Despite the patience she showed on her face; there was twitch to her eyebrow.

"You had called for us?" She offered finally after many moments of silence.

"Hey.. Dru." He continued eating, keeping his eyes on his plate.

She giggled and her eyes lighted up like Christmas lights. She had not expected any response from him. Occasionally, while blending her fruit and yogurt, she would peak up at him.

"Well, I know you're new to the Council and everything but why sit with us? Rubbing it in our faces eh?" Claire pointed at him with her fork then took a bite of her french toast.

September's heart rose into his throat and he was speechless for a moment. He didn't belong anywhere. Not with the Council or the Fourth Division. He should just get up and leave, sit outside. Maybe dig a hole for himself and live there. Die there.

"Nah, I'm just kidding you September. You're always welcome here." She said with a huge grin.

He relaxed and took a small bite of bacon. "You know I'd never do that." He casually laughed and continued, "I'm sure soon enough you all will be apart of the Council as well."

Inside September's head Dru spoke, "You know, she was not really "kidding." Deep down that is what everyone is thinking. You are just selfish and want everyone to idolize you for getting so strong so fast. Even though we both know it was not natural. How does it feel to be sitting at a table with people you could squash like bugs?" September scanned the table looking for any signs that proved what she was saying right. Nothing. Everything was normal. But Dru's words ate at him.

let's take it s l o w .

"You had called for us?" She offered finally after many moments of silence.

The Head remained silent, staring past their heads at the large doors. Artemis' eyes began to wander around the room, finally settling on the receptionist who now stood next to the Head. Cor was desperately resisting the urge to tap his feet, wondering why in the world they were sitting here. All of a sudden, the receptionist broke the silence again, bending down to softly whisper into the Head's ear. At what she said, the Head broke out into a huge grin, standing up from his seat.

As if on cue, Celeste walked in, wearing a pair of bloody gloves, her once white dress now splattered with red as well. The receptionist, as if this happened everyday, immediately held up a trash bin, which the Vice-Head walked over to. Discarding her soiled gloves, she reported, "It's gone now. You can go into the office.."

"Thank you! Now, let's go, shall we?" the Headmaster gestured, heading towards the door they had walked in through earlier. The receptionist bowed in farewell, taking back her seat behind the desk. At this point, Artemis and Cor were very confused. Not to mention curious as to what Celeste had just gotten rid off... Regardless, they followed the Head right back out the door, into the hallway they had come from. Instead of continuing, he turned right back to the closed doors. This time, Celeste quickly punched a combination of buttons, inserted a weirdly shaped key, and kicked the door open once again.

To their shock, the room had entirely changed. The receptionist and her desk were no more, and instead, they were met with a ginormous room filled with books. The bookshelves covered all the walls, the floors were scattered with ripped pages and ancient scrolls, and even the desk was barely in sight, cluttered with various manuscripts and of course, books. Artemis' eye twitched, as she caught sight of a dead something laying on the ground, a sheet soaked with blood attempting to cover its corpse.

"Don't mind, don't mind," the Head laughed, as if reading her mind.

"It's not... a person... is it?" Cor asked, afraid to know the answer.

"Hmm... I don't think it is?" he replied uncertainly, glancing at the body curiously. "Is it, Celeste?"

Celeste, who had cleared away most of the books from the Head's desk, along with the floor, shrugged as she brought out extra chairs for the guests. She motioned for them to sit, before perching on the desk next to her father, who had also taken his seat. Artemis and Cor gingerly sat down, rather terrified. What had they done to deserve this?

"I'm sure you're wondering why you're here," the Head finally said, eyes twinkling. Celeste crossed her legs and flattened her dress, which was still covered in blood, Artemis noted. She met the Ringmaster's gaze, and Artemis immediately looked away. Her eyes focused on the Headmaster once more.

"We have a bit of a problem..." he trailed off, his eyes now deep in thought. "We can't tell you the details yet," Celeste said, taking over, "but we want you two to check out a lead. It'll only take a day or two. A carriage has already been prepared, pack what you think will be necessary, and meet by the gates. You will be briefed on what's happening on the way there."

"Thank you, Celeste. You guys may go now," the Head stated, and for once, the smile was gone from his face. Artemis had so many questions, but decided to keep quiet after looking at his serious expression. Nothing good was happening when the Headmaster looked like that.

Celeste led them back outside, escorting them to the courtyard. "You have an hour to gather your things. Make sure to grab something to eat," and with that, she was gone.

Celeste led them back outside, escorting them to the courtyard. "You have an hour to gather your things. Make sure to grab something to eat," and with that, she was gone.

They had been cast off into the courtyard once again. With slightly irritated faces. Madara's much more than Etoh. When she asked him what was wrong. He held up four fingers.

"Four." He said.

Etoh cocked a thin perfectly trimmed eyebrow. "Oh so you can count. That's wonderful."

Madara pursed his lips. "Yes." He said. "I can always tell you how many hours of sleep I had gotten in the past night." He pointed with his free hand. "I am running on four hours of sleep."

Etoh continued to stare at him. "Don't be so trivial, Madara."

"TRIVIAL?!" He said, shocked registered into his every corner and curve. "I am so not TRIVIAL. We may be linked by souls." Madara said tightly "but you're flippancy is wearing on my patience."

"And your absurdity is wearing on mine."

Madara's mouth tightened. He farcically rolled his eyes. "I need food." He declared, strolling towards the dinning hall.

Shaking her head, Etoh followed him bemused, and shaking her head. God you're obstinate.

There was something excellent about the day. And he just could not, for the life of him, put his finger on it. The day itself was early, the sky was coarse grey, with unfathomable ash clouds, that seemed to stretch on and on for anchors. It was cold and melancholy, the wind blew blissfully, agitating ether side of the train car, he sat in.

He took a draw of his cigar, his Cuban cigar.

But nonetheless, Sebastian Joseph Ellwood, felt better than he had in years. So good in fact a large absurd grin was pressed on to his thin lips, causing the mistress that perched promiscuously on his lap, to frown. "Why're you smiling like that?" She asked, blowing the hair from her eyes.

"Because you're with me here, Darling." He said easily, pulling the girl, whose name had completely escaped his mind forward, for a kiss. Nervously, Anita or Anne pulled away, her cheeks blushing red.

"I bet you say that to everyone you meet."

"Of course not." Only the females.
