let's f l y away .

Artemis sighed, deciding to pack before grabbing some food. She and Cor headed towards their dorm, feeling drained and frustrated. They felt like they had gone through a week's worth of trouble, when it wasn't even past breakfast. Artemis sighed, the lack of sleep finally getting to her. Cor, who could run perfectly fine for a week with only three hours of sleep, glanced at her in worry. The last few days had been busy for them, and Artemis had been running on five hours of sleep each day. She needed at least eight to properly function. He hoped this wouldn't affect her performance, especially if the need to fight arose.

When they reached their room, Artemis gave Cor a mental list of things to pack while she was in the shower. She was hoping that some cold water would wake her up, but it barely helped. Cor insisted on drying her hair for her, and she took a very quick nap as he did so. Unfortunately, it took less than five minutes since her hair was so short, and she felt even more tired than she had before. She lightly slapped her cheeks to wake up, quickly changing her clothes. After slipping on a casual black dress with boots to match, she was finally ready to go.

Slipping on the shoulder bag Cor had packed for her, she made her way towards the Dining Hall. Cor quickly followed with a bag of his own, stomach grumbling. When they arrived, the breakfast frenzy was still in action, the Hall filled with the chatters of their fellow Ringmasters. Artemis paid them no attention, heading straight towards the food. Just like Cor, she had been starving.

The Dining Hall offered a wide variety of food, but Artemis decided to keep it simple. She grabbed a plastic container meant for salads, but filled it with muffins and pastries instead. It was almost like dessert, but to her it was a beautiful breakfast. Cor grabbed a container as well, but filled his with things much more nutritious than his Ringmaster's. After piling it with vegetables, fruits, and some toast, he finally joined Artemis who had been waiting by the Hall's entrance.

The weather was nice and clear, and the two still had forty minutes to kill before heading towards the gate. So they headed towards the courtyard, taking a seat under their favorite tree. Artemis had often napped here when she was little, dreaming about the simpler, happier times. She began to reminisce as she quickly ate, finishing her food within ten minutes. Cor, who was used to her fast eating, shook his head, not even halfway done with his.

Artemis couldn't help but feel drowsy, now that she had a full stomach. The summer breeze also felt nice, and the fluttering sound of leaves felt like a soft lullaby. She let out a small yawn, deciding to snuggle into Cor's side. She pushed his meal away from his lap, replacing it with her head. She curled into a tiny ball and drifted off to sleep, Cor silently laughing. She had done this a lot when she was younger too. He grabbed a small blanket from his bag, which he had packed just in case, predicting this would've happened. He draped it over her then continued to eat, making sure not to spill any crumbs on her sleeping face. He leaned against the tree as he ate, wishing everyday was just as peaceful as this.

[ I q u i s t o r ]

Etoh ate mechanically, scooping up chucks of her cereal at a time, and washing it down with orange juice. All to Madara's displeasure. He ate a simple salad, with a can of apple juice on the side. Which looked irrevelant next to Etoh's large bowl of cereal, her fruit salad, her muffin and her protein bar, all of which she somehow astonishingly managed to fit into her tiny frame, and still stay so thin.

But surprise no longer registered under the list of feelings he felt for Etoh. Considering how long they had been together; nothing seemed to surprise him anymore, especially not her diet.

When they were done, she shuffled off their plates, and headed straight for their room. Madara lead Etoh down through the building connecting to their dormitory. He held Etoh's slender hand in his, wondering just how long had they been together; and how was it possible that her hand felt so tiny and significant in his. It was amazing, he thought sheepishly.

Until, a shadowy figure stopped them in the middle of the hallway. "You there, child." The figure asked.

"Zylphina" Etoh replied, unmoved. But Madara could see the tightening of her eyes.

Zylphina was the Circus's Inquisitor. She was a frail old woman, and paranoid misanthropist. She had been next in line to inherit the status of Headmaster, if it weren't for the lost of her son, to a Lucifer, nonetheless. Now she barely outranked the Council. Pity may be a feeling Madara had once felt towards her, but no longer. Her obstinacy and her hatred towards Etoh for being born of Lucifer blood was unforgivable in his eyes.

Now, the Inquisitor moved toward Etoh like a drifting gray smoke. She stopped in front of her and held out a hand; long-fingered and white, it reminded Madara of an albino spider. "Look at me, child," she said and suddenly those fingers were Etoh's chin, forcing her head up. She was incredibly strong for a woman of her age. "You will call me Inquisitor, and nothing else." The skin around her eyes was mazed with fine lines like cracks in a painting. Two narrow grooves ran from the edges of her mouth to her chin. "Do you understand?"

"I have a name, it is not Child." Etoh retorted, her hand reaching up and tightly grasping the Inquisitor's wrist. "And if you would so kindly remove your hand, Zylphina. Before I am forced to remove it, myself." The venom in Etoh's eyes was undeniable, and fearsome. Even Madara stood no chance against her once she was agitated. He wasn't even sure the Inquisitor did, but he knew she would sure as hell try.

"You have no right to challenge me, you filthy child." She tore her hand from Etoh's grasped. "You have no right to call my name ether. You are as bad as one of them, a liar just like a Lucifer. Satan's spawns."

"Actually" said Etoh, "I prefer to think that I'm a liar in a way that is uniquely my own."

A small smile curved on her cracked face. "You are intolerant of my authority. Just as Lucifer was to God, and for his betrayal; he was cast off into the pits of Hell." said the Inquisitor. "I will see to it, that you envy his fate."

It was like a challenge for Etoh, and she loved challenges. Every corner and curve on her face was suddenly laced with malice, she shook from the uproar of anger that rooted through her skin. She tried her best to keep calm. "I do not see how I have defied you're authority, Inquisitor. If anything you have crossed your line of jurisdiction." Said Etoh, "I suggest you learn you're place, or I will be forced to show you, where you're rights are." Her voice was deep, and filled with promise.

"Are you threatening me, Child?"

A piece of her composure had broken. She instinctively raised her hand threw it against the wall of the hallway. It began to crumble. "My name is Etoh Fujiwara." She said. "I have business I need to attend to, if you have any further concerns..."

Her eyes darken significantly, her skin began to shimmer where the maze of lines ran beneath her skin. "Keep them to yourself. Good day, Inquisitor."

Etoh allowed herself to walk proudly into her room, before she crashed onto the floor, her whole body trembling, violently. The silver lines, were barely visibly, but the fact that they were there was already an sign of caution. Immediately Madara was at her side, he drew her into his arms, she was stiff and tense, but as the moments passed, her shoulders relaxed. And eventually he could hear her heart beating again.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

Etoh shook her head, and staggered to her twin feet. Refusing his aiding hand. "I've never felt better." She lied.

Madara frowned, and reached for her injured hand. He reached for the first aid kit and began to artistically bandaged her hand, when she slightly pulled away.

"Don't bother, it'll heal. Us freaks heal fast." she said, "or rather, I heal fast."

Madara pursed his lips. "Oh Luna, how're we going to explain what happened to the wall?"

After they had spent their leisure packing, they headed for the gates.

claire + aldor

"You know I'd never do that." He casually laughed and continued, "I'm sure soon enough you all will be apart of the Council as well."

Claire slightly gripped her fork, then released it. "Hopefully... No, not even hope. It's definitely what I'm aiming for." She finished the last bit of her food and downed her drink. "Aldor you finished?" She tapped his shoulder. He looked up at her and Claire could see past his face that his plate was empty of its bacon. She smiled. "Let's go then. I wanted to check the bulletins before training today."
"Excuse us guys." Aldor waved everyone adieu. They cleared their table and left the Dining Room.

The bulletins were like huge message boards set up in each Division's dorm. An entire wall of each dorm was dedicated to strictly bulletins. All kinds of things were posted up on them; lost and found notices, advertisements of higher Division Ringmasters that offered their teachings to lower Division members, but most importantly, news of any known Lucifers in the area. It was a phenomenon that the bulletins didn't get all cluttered with so much information. There was a rumor that a small, dedicated group of Ringmasters would get up in the middle of the night and keep everything nice and tidy; taking down expired notices & completed missions, organizing sections of the wall to contain a particular type of bulletin etc.

Claire and Aldor took in the panoramic view of the bulletins. "What did you want to look for Claire?" Aldor asked, just to ask a question. He knew exactly why they were there.
"I want to see if there's any good clothing sales going on in town today." Claire said jokingly in a perky tone.
Aldor gave her a look. "You and I both know you want to see if there's any baddies around for you to take down."
"Not just for me to take down alone.. you too Aldor. Now, fox mode. Grab what you deem interesting from the bulletins. Most of the good ones will be taken at a human's height. People won't take the ones posted near the ground."

Claire stood on standby while Aldor leaped into the small crowd of Ringmasters and Guardians surrounding the bulletins. He wiggled and flexed his way through numerous feet, paws, hooves, etc. He reached the wall and began skimming it. He grabbed a few minor, but definitely worthy of Division Four, notices of Lucifer sightings in nearby towns in MHC. He made his way back out of the crowd to where Claire sat cross-legged on a sofa.
"Hey that was pretty fast!" Claire patted the seat on the sofa next to her.
Aldor leaped up and laid down the papers in her lap, then formed back to his human form. "Hah, were you timing me?" He leaned back into the sofa looking over her shoulder.
She read through the papers. "Hmm, there all pretty good. Two of them I'm sure we could handle on our own. The last one, I'd feel better if we took someone with us."
"What is this? Can't handle everything on your own now huh?"
"No, Aldor. Look. The person who wrote this is even asking for two Ringmasters. I guess I'll save it for later."
The two sat on the sofa, looking over every detail of the notices.

Claire slightly gripped her fork, then released it. "Hopefully... No, not even hope. It's definitely what I'm aiming for. [...]
"Excuse us guys." Aldor waved everyone adieu. They cleared their table and left the Dining Room.

They waved goodbye and continued with their breakfast, while keeping up casual conversations with the people seated next to them. September chatted about fighting techniques and Dru listened as a female Guardian bragged about her love life. After almost ten more minutes of socializing they excused themselves and headed out to the courtyard, on their way to the training area.

"Aldor paid absolutely no attention to me. I don't understand. I'm attractive aren't I? In my own way?" Dru folded her arms across her chest.

"I didn't know you were interested in Aldor?"

"I'm not. Don't be stupid. I just want to know I can have him. He is a challenge, being a Guardian and all. Typically they are in love with their Ringmaster." She laughed, to her the thought of being in love with September was ridiculous.

As they approached the Council training building September took out his card and prepared to scan it. Council members had a more advanced training arena, with more difficult levels. It ranged from levels one through ten, ten being the most difficult. You had to reserve your time there and you could choose whether your session was public or private. If it was public others could sit in and take notes while with private only the Ringmaster and Guardian are in the room. September and Dru always did private.

❀❀❀

"Left!"

Dru quickly transformed into a large black scythe which September grabbed. He sliced the MHC's alternative to a Lucifer in half. In a split second she was a black lion attacking several other "Lucifers" that had just appeared. September took down two in front of him with brute force. As each "Lucifer" was taken down four more took it's place. They had started training almost an hour ago, with no breaks in between, on level 10. September was tiring and it felt like his heart was trying to beat its way out of his chest. This was not important though. What was important was passing level 10. They had done it before, but for whatever reason each time it got harder for them. They had an idea why, but didn't want to accept it.

They went at the "Lucifers" for another fifteen minutes until the arena automatically shut off, signalling the end of the level. September fell to the floor clutching his chest. He was breathing so loud he couldn't hear anything else. His chest was going to explode. Two hands gripped his face and open one eye.

"Your pupils are the size of saucers! Much larger than before!" Dru's voice entered his head. "We are getting close!"

He couldn't focus his mind enough to speak with her. He had to concentrate all his energy on steadying his breath. It took a couple of minutes but finally his breathing returned to normal. Dru was already out of the room when he looked around, probably in the showers. He'd head there too, when he could stand.

They were close. So close.

shut it all down.

“Move.”
“No, you move.”
“Would you shift it already?”
“I got here first, moron.”
“I’m the older child, freak.”
“You don't know that!”
“Would you two stop squabbling and get the fuck into the carriage?” Rin snapped.

The door slammed shut. It seemed like their carriage driver was in a bad mood too. Thankfully the ride from the train station to the Circus wasn’t long. Going on missions with her brother was a terrible idea. As much as she loved him, working with him was just difficult as everything became a competition. Their sibling rivalry shone through when it came to hunting Lucifers.

"You know I won that round." Arthur finally said, folding his arms.
Aria snorted. "Please. I weakened the Lucifer. Just because you got the final hit doesn't make you a winner."
"Are you two still on that topic?" Rhea asked, sounding very obviously bored. She was in her human form today. A secret the twins were keeping from the Circus. Arthur possessed the skills and strength to be part of The Council, but didn't want to be part of it. Something about responsibility and too many decisions. "I wasn't going to mention this, but I cant smell anything right now."

Silence filled the carriage only to be interrupted by a burst of laughter from Aria. "Well, seems like I won." Rin rolled his eyes, chuckling softly to himself. Rhea losing one of her senses was quite normal. Any time she forced herself to hold a shift, the penalty is one of her senses. Arthur groaned. His sister wouldn't let him live this down. And he was so sure that he had won.

Absolutely gutted.

***

"Oh yeah! Who the winner? Me. Me." Aria sang as she danced towards the Circus gates. Arthur trailed after her not wanting to be seen with his sister. Their guardians were in the animal forms happily chasing each other around the twins. Aria stopped at the gate, turned around and pointed her finger at Arthur.

"Who the winner?" She shouted.
"You are." He muttered glumly. "Now, can we go get something to eat."

Introducing...

“What about these?” Priya held out a light pink maxi skirt and a ruffled white blouse. At her feet was a pair of five inch black platform wedges. Ziel looked up, his large ears twitched and his black eyes showed no interest in the current discussion.

Don’t you think that is all a bit… impracticable? How do expect to walk in those, let alone fight?

Priya’s face gleamed with pride, “I’ve practiced doing everything in heels. If anything, I’m more capable with them than I am with sneakers.” She said sneakers like you’d say cockroach or mucus.

For some reason I doubt that. Ziel laid his head back down and closed his eyes. She had already tried on several outfits this morning and none had stuck. Priya was indecisive when it came to clothes. Shopping and getting dressed was a battle, and he was tired of being a part of it.

“Ohhhh,” he opened his eyes to find Priya dressed and studying herself in the mirror, “This does make me look taller, but almost too tall.” She sighed and tugged at the loose fabric of her skirt. “What do you think Ziel?”

I think we should get going. At this rate we are going to be late.

“Always the practicable one.” She took one last look in the mirror and nodded with approval.

♥♥♥

She wasn’t sure where to go from here. The Headmaster had sent no further instructions other than to come to his branch of the M.H.C. immediately. No meeting had been planned as far as she could tell. So now she was stuck wandering around looking like a fool. It had been a few years since she had been summoned to this particular limb of the M.H.C. and she was just as unfamiliar with the layout as she had been then.

Ziel trotted beside her, looking more bored than usual. Can’t we just ask for directions?

To where exactly? We were not told where to go.

Can’t we just go to his office?

If he wanted us to don’t you think he would have said so?

I’m not the man’s Guardian. I don’t know what he thinks.

Don’t be so grumpy. Things will work themselves out eventually. They always do. Lets just head back to the front gates, wherever those are.

And so they continued stumbling around the building.

claire + aldor

Claire read through the first notice of a Lucifer terrorizing a local town about a 4-hour carriage ride away from the MHC Headquarters. Aldor noticed Claire reading and felt ignored as he wasn't involved.
"Here." Claire read his mind and smirked as she handed him the paper.
Aldor took it, returning her smirk with a grin.
"Hmm. Seems like only one Lucifer. Senior citizens gone missing." Aldor reports as he reads.
"How many?" Claire asks.
"Just two. For now. The Lucifer will be weak. Since he's only consuming weak souls."
"Don't say that. No soul is a 'weak' soul." Claire took the comment way too seriously as her tone rose.
"Alright, sorry. Calm down." Aldor hands her back the paper. "When shall we leave?"
"As soon as possible."

Claire and Aldor head back towards their dorm to pack the necessities. Claire secured her pack on her back and stashed a few more snacks before zipping it closed. Aldor lifted his messenger crossbag over his head to let it hang on his shoulder. "What's with the snacks? You and your never-ending hunger."
Claire reddened. "It's for the road, idiot. Four hours, Aldor. You'd be hungry too." She walked out, hurried and flustered.
They arrived at the promised meeting place to be picked up by their carriage.
"You did put in a request for a carriage right?"
"Yeah, I did. Before we packed at the dorms." Aldor scratched his nose.
"Well... where the heck is it?"
"Be patient. It'll be here." Aldor sat down at a bench.
Claire, still standing, stared at the empty gateway where the expected carriage would come.
"It's not coming Aldor."
"It's only been a minute!" Aldor yelled out of annoyance.
Silence. He sighed. "Come on, sit here." He patted the bench.
She turned and slumped down. "I hate people who aren't punctual." she muttered.
"I know."

After about five more minutes, the carriage comes click-cloppiting in. The Ringmaster and Guardian seat themselves comfortably inside the carriage while their trek to their mission's town began.

muchwork..

Aria led the group into the Circus with her celebratory dance. She wasn’t going to drop it for a few more hours. She did a little twirl and then proceeded to walk backwards continuing with her dance.

‘Watch where you’re going, Aria. You’ll bump into people.’
She grinned. “Oh please. I’ve got this. Relax.”
‘Whatever you say.’

Arthur looked down at Rhea who was padding along beside him in her Alaskan form. She would occasionally sniff at the air uncertainly. "Nothing yet?" He asked when her head dropped. She shook her head, howling softly. "You'll be fine after a good long rest." He assured her. 'Yeah, I think so too.'

And so they continued stumbling around the building.

'Aria! Look out!' Rin shouted, shifting to his human form, as she unknowingly walked back into a ringmaster and her guardian. Aria tripped over something, her feet, (or the other guardian's) and hit the floor instantly. "Ouch...," She muttered rubbing her knee. There didnt seem to be any bleeding. Aria dusted herself off and grabbed Rin's hand who pulled her up from the ground.

"What did I say? You really should listen to me more often." He scolded her before turning to the pair to apologise on his ringmaster's behalf.

claire + aldor

It's midday when Claire and Aldor arrive at Minned. The carriage ride was uneventful with Aldor drifting in and out of sleep and Claire quietly munching on her bag of chips. The carriage comes to a stop slowly and rocks to its side as the driver opens the door, letting the two out.
"Welcome to Minned." the driver says, stifling a grumble and hitches himself up back to the front of the carriage.
"Thanks." Aldor salutes him off.
The driver returns the salute.
"I'll be at the local carriage station to give the horses a rest."
"OK, we won't be long." Claire replies.

Claire starts toward the town's center square to get a view of the place, with Aldor following behind.
The townspeople eye the Ringmaster and its Guardian; some with hopefulness, some with indifference. Lots of hushed talk too. In no time at all, word gets around that the duo have arrived.
Loudspeakers screech around the town then a voice booms. The mayor of Minned has called the two to report to Town Hall.
"Sheesh, what's with those things?" Aldor covers his ears. "Darn this fox hearing of mine."
"Wonder where the hall could be?" Claire says loudly, trying to get attention.
A few children run up to her. "This way, here." A small girl tugs at Claire's hand.

Once inside the Town Hall, Claire and Aldor are greeted by a smiling, plump woman, predicted to be the Mayor herself.
"Welcome, welcome young Ringmaster and her Guardian!" she says while shaking both of their hands.
"Hello, I'm Claire and this is my partner Aldor."
"I am Mayor Jean of the town of Minned." the mayor says heartily. The mayor walks to sit back in her chair behind her desk and motions for the two to sit down at the two chairs in front of the desk.
How is this woman so jolly when her town has been attacked by a Lucifer? Aldor glances at Claire.
"May I ask what Division are you from?"
"Division Four, ma'am." Claire answers proudly. "We're here because of a notice your town put out about a Lucifer attack."

The mayor's rosy cheeks seem to lose a bit of their color. "Yes. It was about two weeks ago when our dairy man disappeared. He ran the farm that milked cows and goats. Our quota for dairy products has decreased since but a few women have volunteered to work at the farm to sustain our population. Then a few days ago, another man was reported missing. Just a normal civilian according to the police reports. No connection to the dairy man whatsoever but we assume it is the Lucifer's doing."

Claire nods in understanding. "I see your dilemna Mayor Jean. Don't worry though, continue with your town's usual safety precautions and we'll handle this Lucifer."
"Oh bless you both!" the mayor takes Claire's hand and holds tightly. "I hope this burden isn't too much to handle. Anything you need, don't hesitate to ask me yourself."

Claire is taken aback by the kindness of the mayor but manages to say, "Okay."
Aldor hides his smile, looking at Claire's awkwardness, then stops as he remembers something.
"Ah, Mayor Jean. I wanted to ask who was that over the loudspeaker?"
"That would be Jack, my nephew." the mayor answers innocently. "Why do you ask?" She really is oblivious.
"No reason. Just wondering." Aldor says.

The two exit the town hall after more blessings from the mayor.
"Where should we start Claire?" Aldor stretches.
"Let's visit the dairy farm. See if we can pick up the Lucifer's trail." Claire takes note that it's about three more hours until sunset.
By asking around, they find their way to the dairy farm which is a 10 minute walk from the square. It's clear to Claire and Aldor that the townspeople are really shaken from the Lucifer. Only a few are found walking from the countryside to the city, otherwise, everyone else seems to be locked up in their homes.

Aria tripped over something, her feet, (or the other guardian's) and hit the floor instantly.

Startled, Ziel whimpered with shock as something, or someone, fell on top of him. He twisted to get out beneath the weight but before he could even budge whatever it had been was off him. He shuck himself off and was again startled when Priya reached down and picked him up by the skin of his neck.

"What did I say? You really should listen to me more often." He scolded her before turning to the pair to apologise on his ringmaster's behalf.

She was laughing, almost hysterically. She waved her free hand, trying to assure the pair it was fine. Ziel was complaining as she laughed, ordering her to put him down. Instead she wrapped him in her arms. As her laughing died down she smiled at the Ringmaster and Guardian, "Please don't apologize. Its actually perfect that we ran into you, we are a bit lost you see." She sighed dramatically and surveyed her surroundings. "Yes, completely and utterly lost." Ziel was struggling in her grasp so finally she released him. He jumped to the ground and sat at her side, refusing to look at the three of them. Priya giggled and continued talking, "I believe we are looking for the front entrance. Well, really, anywhere but-." She paused, realizing she had not introduced herself or Ziel, "Oh, yes, I'm Priya Holandang," she motioned down to the grumpy fox at her side, "and this is Ziel. Pay no attention to him, he is only tired."

"Yes, completely and utterly lost."

“Can’t say Im not surprised.” Aria said, “Have you seen how big this place is?” She smiled, remembering when she first came here and had got lost continuously. In the end, Edgar made her a map which she kept with her for the first three months.
'That because you have no sense of direction.' Rin's voice popped into her head earning a jab in the stomach from her.
"You weren't much help back then." She snapped back.
"You've the one who never listened," was his response. They had somewhat forgotten about the pair in front of them and gone back to their usual bickering. Thankfully Arthur had caught up, Rhea at his side eyeing the two strangers.

"Oh, yes, I'm Priya Holandang," she motioned down to the grumpy fox at her side, "and this is Ziel. Pay no attention to him, he is only tired."

"Oh hello. We're the Stanfield twins. My sister-" he motioned Aria, who had grabbed Rin by the ear and pulled him down to her level, "..., yeah. That's my sister. Aria and her guardian......, Rin." He looked over at the two and then back at the newcomers. "They're like that." He explained as Aria yelled "CHEAT." Rin must have shifted into a fly or something. He should stop them.., but then again he didn't want to be caught up in their little 'fight'.
'They'll come to their senses soon.' Rhea put in helpfully. Arthur raised an eyebrow, doubtful.
"Arthur." he said. "And thats Rhea." She woofed her hello, earning her a chuckle from Arthur.

"So, how come you guys are here at Mist Haven?"

Priya nodded and smiled as the male Stanfield twin spoke. She enjoyed watching the Ringmaster and Guardian ruff house. Though her and Ziel's relationship was quite different now, there was a time where it had been similar. Of course, things changed, and Ziel forced the two of them to grow up. Both stopped messing around and focused on the important things. Whatever those were.

"Arthur." he said. "And thats Rhea." She woofed her hello, earning her a chuckle from Arthur.

"Pleasure."

Ziel decided to acknowledge the new guest. He cocked his head and his ears twitched at their voices.

"So, how come you guys are here at Mist Haven?"

"Well, the Headmaster summoned us. I assume for advice or aid of some sort." That was usually the case. Rarely was she called in for a casual chat. She was a bit young, but she had done her studying and knew all there was to the Circus and the Lucifers they fought. There was not much else she was good for. "Have there been any serious problems lately?" She was curious. The Headmaster had been vague in his letter to her, which was unusual. There were many other places she needed to be. Headmasters usually went into detail of their problems to draw her in. Whatever was the most pressing or interesting usually got first pick.

"Have there been any serious problems lately?"

Arthur just shrugged. “I have no idea. We just got back from a week long mission in some god forsaken city nowhere near here.” He looked down at his attire. Work clothes. 'Not to mention, but you have Lucifer blood all over you. Thank goodness I cant smell.' Rhea randomly commented. That just made him more uncomfortable. He loosened his tie a little before he spoke. “Well until you’re summoned by the Head, you really haven’t got much to do.” He sighed, scratching his head thoughtfully, “I don’t know---Aria!” Arthur shouted for his twin, stopping her in her tracks. She looked over, noticed his ‘I-don’t-know-what-the-fuck-Im-doing-face and stalked over.

“Whut?”
“Do you know if anything serious has been happening?”
She blinked a few times. “Why would I know?”
“You are a council member, you know.”
“I was on this mission too, you know.”

‘We could ask Etoh.’ Rin suggested. He too had come, in his Alaskan form, following his ringmaster back to the group. Aria clapped her hands, “Ah! Thats right. Etoh would know.” She grinned, patting Rin’s head. “Good boy.”
‘Don’t push it.’
Aria stuck her tongue out in reply, then quickly turned her attention to the group. "We could go back to the Council dorm. She could be there." and added quickly, "We can wash up too." The Lucifer blood off Arthur's clothes was making her head hurt. Trust him to get it all over his garb. He really needed to get over this inability to make decisions. Its affect in battles was becoming more and more obvious.

“I have no idea. We just got back from a week long mission in some god forsaken city nowhere near here.” He looked down at his attire.

Ziel shifted into his human form, where his sense of smell was less intense. The smell of Lucifer was killing him, and bringing back unwanted memories. He towered over Priya now in his human form. Unconsciously he placed a protective hand on her shoulder. He watched with jealousy as Priya spoke. She was already so comfortable with these people even though they had only just met. "Well, I hope it was successful." She said.

He loosened his tie a little before he spoke. “Well until you’re summoned by the Head, you really haven’t got much to do.”

"No, I don't believe there is." Priya removed Ziel's hand from her shoulder. It was making her uncomfortable. Like something horrible was about to happen.

“Ah! Thats right. Etoh would know.” She grinned, patting Rin’s head. “Good boy.”

Of course Etoh. They would know. She thought for a moment, Just who is Etoh?

How am I suppose to know, Priya?

I don't know, I just hoped you would.

"We could go back to the Council dorm. She could be there." and added quickly, "We can wash up too."

"I hope your Council dorm does not have any rules about not allowing lower Divisions in. Otherwise I won't be able to go." Quite frequently on her travels there were strict rules between the Council and lesser Divisions. In some places you could not eat outside of your group. In others Council members had a completely different building, set apart from Divisions one through four buildings.

"Well, I hope it was successful."

"I'd say it was." Aria said cheerfully. It was her latest victory against her brother. Arthur rolled his eyes. "Yeah. Absolutely fabulous." Aria brushed off the sarcasm in his voice. Aria continued,"Though, that Lucifer-" then cut of her sentence midway grinning sheepishly.
'Keep assumptions to yourself. Smart move.'
'Well, I do have my moments.'
'And what few they are.'
Arthur scratched his nose, paying zero attention to his sister. The only thing on his mind was winning the next time they undertook a mission together.

"I hope your Council dorm does not have any rules about not allowing lower Divisions in. Otherwise I won't be able to go."

Aria was confused. Was there a rule like that? She really has no idea. Arthur came over pretty much every day and Edgar would visit often. Visits were probably allowed. She looked down at Rin, maybe he knew. ‘Dont look at me. I didn’t read the handbook either. If there is one.’ She pushed her bangs back making a quick decision. “I don’t think we do,” She said confidently. “Arthur visits all the time and he is in Four.”

"Let's go then." Rin had shifted back to his human form, obviously impatient. "I wasn't going to say anything but Arthur. You reek. Badly." Aria stifled a chuckle. The bluntness of Rin, funny in some situations.

"We'll go back to our dorm," Rhea had shifted to her human form too. "So he can wash up." Aria nodded in agreement. "See you guys later." She waved, before adding, "Oh and his clothes. Burn them. I doubt you'll be able to get the blood off." Rhea gave a thumbs up as her reply before shifting back into her animal form.

The council dorm wasn't far off from the gates. As they causally walked through the grounds of the Circus, Aria noticed that there were more ringmasters than usual. Certainly more than a week ago. Maybe Priya wasn't the only one called in.
