Note: I've skimmed a few comments in this thread before posting, so my apologies if things have been said before.
I am glad to see I am not the only one who used several lists to manage the content on CR. I also used my Watching list as a way to keep track of series I have already seen, rather than track what I am seeing. This was always done through my Favorites (once completed, I then moved to Watching).
I also saw Shinji's request for some feedback, so allow me a few moments to propose a page I'm sure others would agree would be helpful.
What would be helpful is a single page which lists out the following (in order):
-A brief history of
unique series viewed (last episode number displayed). In truth, I don't need to know I just watched the last 5 episodes of Gosick, but would like to see the last 5 series I've viewed.
-A current listing of shows I'm interested in (aka, My Favorites). Would
greatly appreciate the images be kept (though reduced in size) because I recognize a series by image moreso than by name.
-A (collapsing?) section of
completed series. It would be a tremendous help if a series is automatically removed from the list above and placed here after the final episode is viewed, though this is more a wish than a request.
The reason this is helpful, for me, is it's very difficult to manage all these wonderful series while trying to remember what I just watched. In some cases, such as with Gosick, I would marathon a good deal of episodes, but with others, I watched the latest (and keep up weekly), such as Stein's Gate.
The current system makes this tremendously difficult, and quite frankly, the new queue would not assist me in this manner. The one thing I dislike about Netflix's service is the internet queue sucks compared to any found within my BD menu and my game consoles. Not sure why it's so bland on the internet, but to see it copied gave me a temporary scare (and leading me to this thread/commentary).
I understand the need for change, but perhaps a survey is a better way to go than a message reading "This is going away. Put your stuff in the queue or else." It did not make me comfortable to see I had no choice.
By the way: the message still exists, and is now moot if our options are to be on hold for a while longer (thank goodness).
I do appreciate all the hard work the site does behind the scenes to keep us all happy.
*cough* this type of service is a value-add for subscriptions *cough*
If you have any further inquiry from me, please message me as I don't often frequent these forums.
Thanks for reading and have a great day.
