forgettin willfully? hmmm. id hatta say no. the more u try to forget them is the more u remember the and make the memories stronger. the more u access a memory, the more it is cemented in ur brain. thats why u hatta read stuff over and over for it to remain. but if u dont take it on it can be forgotten

Yes, I have deleted certain memories. I don't know how I did it though.

I do but not intentionally because I'm kind of scatter-brained, and just eventually forget, because I don't know how to carry grudges or hold onto negative feelings.

But for big things, It still depends on how much time has passed and the severity of what I'm trying to forget. I feel that memories shape us, good or bad, so sometimes its just better to think of the memory in a different light then I no longer have a reason to want to forget it. Or use the memory to help you avoid getting another memory you'd later not want to remember.

Yes. All I have to do is spend thousands of dollars to learn it for my undergraduate degree.

Generally you forget things you don't think about for a long time. When you WANT to forget something, that's the thing you're always thinking about. So it's sort of counterproductive to WANT to forget something.

Yup. Suppressing the memories and focus on other things help. It's not even a hard task.

Try me the days I spend on my Federal IRS tax forms before April 15.

Undergrad degree: I do remember the answer posited by my Ag Engineering instructor from a question he asked us 45 years ago (1967). The question: If you turn a dairy cow upside down and try to milk it will it give milk? This question was so off the wall I never forgot the answer or the question to this day. For those of you who want to know: the answer is yes and it stems from a research project performed back in 1932 here at the Univ of Mizzou--Columbia by that Ag Engineering class.
