Kaiba is pretty wacky at first. Tachiguishi Retsuden by OSHII Angel's Egg OSHII some scenes in Tekkonkinkreet are really wild, reminiscent of Dead Leaves to me. Lots of Studio 4 Degrees Celsius stuff is just crazy. (they animated Tekkonkinkreet) Studio 4°C - Eternal Family Studio 4°C - Deep Imagination Studio 4°C - Digital Juice Studio 4°C - Genius Party Beyond Studio 4°C - Genius Party ani-kuri open your mind Catsoup (the series and ova both) Night on the Galactic Railroad Belladonna of Sadness Elemi Tatami Galaxy Mind Game Cat Shit One The Short Animations of Shintaro Kago any "Ga-Nime" title ^.^ (Highway Jenny, etc)

FLCL: it's about puberty (think back about those years, it fits) This show is 1 of my all-time favs. Koi Kaze: manga was more explicit, anime danced around the topic of incest a little. I felt it was a sensitive portrayal about a societal taboo. Dead Leaves: God, do I love this show! Watched it many times, wish Panty & Stocking w/ Garterbelt would get R1 or BD release to go with it. Aki Sora + Aki Sora: Yume no Naka (OAV): haven't seen this but from what I've read US censorship laws are now so strict that a broad interpretation of the laws' scope can allow law enforcement to arrest any citizen simply for getting caught watching or accessing this.

I remember my Mum and I were talking about TV shows and movies with really strange/nonsensical plots, and I showed her the summary for FLCL on Wikipedia. If only you could see her face as she read it XD Anyone who's reading this: I recommend that you look up The Necro Critic's video 'Top 10 Weirdest Anime'. He has a pretty good list. And yes, Excel Saga and FLCL are on there.
