I'm ashamed of myself for not learning how to cook. I know how to bake cakes, cupcakes and cookies cause I love sweet stuffs. However, to cook dishes that involves fishes, chicken, beef, pork and a lot of vegetables cutting? I think I should pass. Too lazy to work on all those things. Since I'm Asian, I cannot live without rice in our table. So I'm assigned to cook rice and I know how to make FRIED RICE. LOL. Don't expect anything else.

I like to cook. Hell, I LOVE to cook. And I am a good cook (according to my family, ha-ha). The proof is in the body, LOL.
But seriously, I've been cooking since I was 12. I got the kitchen assignment since then.
My only wish is that I knew how to bake.

I enjoy cooking, though I rarely have time to do it anymore. I think the last dish I really put some love into was a mushroom risotto.

I love cooking! It's sort of like laboratory work, but you can eat the results! It's also a great way to make gifts or help/serve others, and express yourself at the same time. My regret is that I don't have a lot of time nowadays to do it as much or to the degree I'd like.

Disaster: Nothing spectacular. Was boiling some chicken bones once, got called to the hospital, forgot to turn off the burner. Came home later to a dry and slightly smoking pot. Fortunately, didn't poison my pet rabbit with smoke inhalation or burn the house down. (Had to throw away the pot, though.)

Masterpiece: Years ago, church fellowship group had girls' night out. We guys prepared dinner for them. I was head chef. They could choose from Filet Mignon, Chicken with red mole sauce, or sushi entrees (only one person chose the sushi-- my favorite!)-- everything made from scratch. A few other guys were my "sous-chefs," and the rest did waiter and other hosting duty. After buying the groceries, we worked non-stop from about 2pm to 10pm at night. That was one of the hardest things I've ever done! Hats off to those in the food industry-- I had no idea what goes on behind a seemingly flawless dinner service until then!

I like cooking, it's relaxing and pretty fulfilling to pour your heart into what you cook and feed gourmet food to your friends and family.

My cooking repertoire is pretty limited at the moment though, I need to learn more recipes.

Some things I cook well:

- Shrimp and scallop pasta with cilantro/basil pesto sauce

- Grilled salmon with a lime/rosemary butter spread

- Cracked peppercorn steak glazed with a sweet teriyaki sauce with wasabi mashed potatoes

I love to cook, I find it very therapeutic. My favorite thing about it is watching my friends, boyfriend, or family enjoy what I've made. :)

Greatest:

- Baked lemon pepper fish with buttered koos koos, & asparagus.

-Oven baked rosemary chicken, with garlic redskin mashed potatoes.

-A huge omelet I made with red pepper, sausage, bacon, sweet onion, spinach topped with salt, pepper, & cheddar cheese.

-My boyfriends favorite was my bacon wrapped Venison steak, with cheddar broccoli rice & grilled corn.

I bake too, but I prefer eating desserts more than I do making them.

I rarely measure my ingredients. I'm kind of a kitchen witch. But rarely have I ever made something completely, tragically, inedible.

I tried making a vegan dish for friends at a party I was having & that failed miserably. It tasted like tree bark & what I imagine slugs to taste like. Ugh...

The other disaster was when I tried making home-made bread for the first time I didn't measure the yeast, so the whole oven was full, I mean FULL of bread. -__-

I make a lot of things really well. I gues I should showcase my pièce de résistance: a brined whole turkey, stuffed with herbs, apple, onion and citrus (aromatics), with rosemary-infused butter rubbed under the skin, everywhere. It smells so good, cooking in the oven. A hit at holiday feasts!

I make fantatic Colcannon - mashed potatoes and cabbage with chopped ham, scallions, cream and butter (I add leeks to mine, too, and crumble bacon bits on top before serving).

At the other, lighter end, I make the best agedashi tofu with fried sweet peppers.

Once upon a time, when I was about 10 I expreimented with scrambling eggs with barbecue sauce. Mom thought it was absolutely disgusting!

I don't cook very much... I basically just cook rice and make sushi and onigiri, and rice noodle omelets.
Worst cooking experience? Forgetting to add sugar and salt to the rice vinegar once... It was very sour.
I love making sushi, when I have decent ingredients. I could just eat sushi rice all day, though. Good stuff.
