My Ordinary Life

I don't think anyone I know who has watched it hasn't liked it to a certain extent. Well, there is that one guy who doesn't like Mai's trolling.

Gintama. I wish they would put it back in Shonen Jump.

To anyone, I would recommend The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, immediately followed by Lucky Star (so they at least get some of the references in Lucky Star), but to anyone who frequently watches anime, I'd also recommend Katekyo Hitman Reborn and My Ordinary Life.

No. 6 definetly!
I agree with everyone who said Gintama, Nichijou, and one i would go with, out on a limb, is probably Uta no Prince-sama. xD
If anyone liked Kaichou wa Maid-sama, or Ouran highschool host club, you might like Uta no prince-sama too ^ ^

This seems to be hard question to really answer-- an anime that almost everyone might like. If such a thing existed, anime might not be such a niche interest relative to society in general that it is. As it is, it may be best to just know your audience (i.e. the person to whom you're recommending a show), and then pick a show that best seems to fit their interests.

My own interest and transition from non-fan to fan grew through watching Haruhi Suzumiya and Lucky Star, and yet I've heard/read posts from people who despise those shows too. They also seem written at least in part for more serious otaku-- I'm sure there are plenty of references that fly over my head, even now after having re-watched them 3+ times.

My fiancee, a non-anime fan, enjoys Squid Girl, and also watches Usagi Drop and Hanasaku Iroha with me, so those might be reasonable guesses at a general-interest anime(?). We also watch Nichijou (My Ordinary Life), but find the humor to be hit-or-miss, depending on the day...

Nekogami and Moritasan since those 2 shows have wide accessibility to anyone.

I'd have to go with Nichijou, Durarara, Eureka Seven, and Mitsudomoe. They would be good "anyone" anime, although I suppose Eureka Seven is more in the mecha genre but has a good story. There are a ton of others I could recommend but they aren't on CR. There are a lot of other good shows (some of which I like more than those listed) but they would definitely not fall into the "anyone" category.

Usagi Drop . . . this is really pretty good to watch.

Steins Gate . . . fiddling with time in a way that doesn't insult one's intelligence.

I try to think if most of the people I know would want to watch "something like this", or not.

Most "any" people just don't care for anime.
