Have you ever judged an anime too quickly?

When it comes to Durarara, the first 2 episodes were INCREDIBLE BORING. Even when I heard about it, a female headless horsemen. It sounded so LAME. I just hated that anime because it's about a female headless horseman. and because the first 2 episodes were so boring. Like I could fall asleep while watching it.

But then, it became one of the BEST animes that I have EVER seen. Sure it has a SLOW start. The beginning would make you fall asleep. But after the 3rd or 5th episode, that's when I really began to enjoy the show. That is when the show became AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

Haven't you ever seen an anime like that? An anime that has a SLOW start so you gave up watching it, but then after watching it for a while ( because of peer pressure from friends) you begin to really enjoy the show???

No. Most anime I've judged early ended up sucking just as I predicted. For example, Seikon no Qwasar.

They really did suck in that one... but I like how it sucked.

Edit: I have, but in most cases, my judgement is proven to be correct in my terms.

I almost did that with Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha but I ended up liking it near the end of the first season. The first few episodes make it seem like a rip off of Cardcaptor Sakura but that changes around 6 episodes in and then it gets good.

I never give up on an anime. except long ones.
like naruto and bleach,
but ones I just stopped watching?
actually never did that.
because I never started an anime I didn't really wanna watch.

Fortunately, I am a completionist, so I apparently* I haven't missed a good anime due to an early judgement, but I have certainly been wrong.

As an example, I was not too impressed with The Twelve Kingdoms at first, but by the end, I was wishing it had at least twice as many episodes, if not more.

* I say apparently, as I did drop two series: Arjuna (dropped after the first DVD) and Fencer of Minerva (dropped after the second episode, as I recall).

Dog Days.
I said that it was going to be in my worst of the season list after watching the 1st ep, good thing I kept watching it, it turned out to become a pretty nice one :P

Gosick
I thought I wouldn`t like it since the first ep was very boring, the second ep was quite exciting.

Zero no Tsukaima
Didn`t like the 1st ep at all when I tried it out the first time, didn`t like Rie on Louise at that time :O
Some months later I decided to give it another chance and this time I watched the whole 1st ep and loved it xD

No, I'm a judgmental person and If I don't like something and don't see the need to continue bothering with it. Actually there have been times where I haven''t heeded my own judgment and continued watching an anime purely out of curiosity and have been disappointed. There actually was a time where I would finish something to completion be it a book/movie/show just out of the drive to know what happens but I've grown out of that. Guess with age you just realize how precious your time is and can't be bothered wasting it on something mundane (well what might seem mundane to me anyway)

The first time I watched One Piece I stopped after episode 1 because I wasn't into it or had better animes to watch then 2 years later I decided to rewatch it and watched it from episode 1 to 500 in 2 weeks and now it is on the top of my favorite animes list :D
The same with Gintama, it was pretty boring at first so I stopped for a while then decided to watch it again and love it.

Now I watch 3 episodes at least before deciding if I should keep watching the anime
