Just passing by since Art Club seems in deep Coma and I was wondering of the Crunchyroll art activity overall.

Ok, if I may: short question.

Some of You probably can tell that I'm a veteran on CR due to my profile avii. Less of You might know that CR had a very active Art Club group back in the date (at the times when society called Shinji a pirate king Arrrgh)... those were times.

Well my deal is that: group is so stagnant that one could not tell whether we're all even alive. Sadly: according to what I know, most of groups seem that way. Driven by curiosity I was wondering how many serious artists or least art enthusiasts come here to CR anymore?

Please forgive myself for long text. I myself am but a humble semi-pro artist and honestly: have tendency to not even bracket on honorable mention once there is anything art-contest related launched on CR. Still as much as I can: I am serious, and have steady line of buyers for my talents I was wondering whether there exists some Serious circle creation environment (with all it takes: anthologies, teaching each-other, help on deadlines, convention merchandise preparation etc.

Question is simple, and seriously out of curiosity about how CR art-life is active. If you lack time -> please ignore ^^ (though I am bit curious bout the answers)

PS: Hope no one minds my shabby works

*sigh* Thought so. But Dvart is nowadays also much more dead than it was back in the date. It's even worse: it seems that since half a year back in time it got very commercialized and company business oriented. So majority of newbie artists and 'Sunday enthusiasts" (meand those that are not some hardcore) just ran off from there >_>

Internet requires some fixing... ongoing generation must make it!

And thanks for reply ^^

Hi! I'm not an artist but I like to draw as a hobby even though how often I draw is a bit sporadic. I think your work is far from shabby

I started a series of perspective tutorials and intended todo more, but a combination of being busy and the limited people who seemed interested made me take a pause. Hopefully I can start it back up again this summer, I enjoyed making them. If the art club groups kicks up again, ill be on board as an active member. Hopefully there are many things I can learn from everyone else as well.

Unfortunately my art is too high of resolution to post here, but you can check it out here:
http://khrom-tx.tumblr.com/art

I paint and draw backgrounds, landscapes and illustrations.

I toyed with the idea about starting a small picture only tutorial(s) for things like composition for landscape, but I'm too busy with other things to start. But if there was interest, then I'd definitely do it.

Here's a (very) small example of things I've painted. This won a regional art competition in 2012 and I've sold a print of it before.
Sorry for the size.

Nice! I admire your line of work as I struggle with backgrounds. I mainly lack time to even draw character designs and since I ove character designs the most: I spent most free time doing them in the end. Thus my background skills are... I wonder if I have any? (seriously, no idea, ast time I drew one was ... 2 years ago?)

I might be contacting you for collaboration in future due to your skill (hope U don't mind)

I'm not that great of an artist, considering that I only have a year and a half of experience, (only through trial, error and observance of other art works from people). But I do plan to take art seriously, and to do that, I have to do as much as I can at a young age to further improve myself for the future!
Endure my rather... horrible line art...
Here is something that I did while my school was having a logo competition for LOTE, (Languages Other Than English); one of our subjects...

(Sorry, quite the Hetalia fan at the moment...)
With this one, I drew Japan and Italy and the logo all seperately and put them all together on one canvas because I thought it was a good idea. Sadly, it didnt turn out how I expected because some clipping error cut Japan's hand off and also made it cover half of Italy's arm, making it look like I was lazy, (though I won't deny that I am quite the lazy person...).

And this is the first of my original characters that I made up.

I usually ask my friends to give me any random names and I try to draw someone that could fit that name; this is the one I made after someone suggested Matthew! :D
God, I can't help but wallow in envy after seeing everyone's great works! Wish I had as much time and experience as you guys!

I have been drawing for a really long time now. My genres are Anime and Anthropomorphic.
My art style anatomy wise is fairly consistent while the shading and lighting vary wildly from piece to piece.
