Anyone else totally hooked on Disgaea 4 yet?? It came out this past tuesday stateside and has since claimed every hour of my spare time..... I reduced my anime watching to only the Blue Exorcist, Occult Accademy and Chaos; Head, cutting out Rune Soldier, 3x3 Eyes, Nero Supernatural Detective and Hell Girl (for now).... I also halted current playthroughs of Breath of Fire 2, Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne, Catherine and Blazblu...... Disgaea 4 has demanded such of me.... LoL
Just wonderring if anyone else is experiencing the JSRPG bliss that is this title....... and to say if you are not, you should be |

I know the general plot of the first one, but that's about all I know. |

Littlelostkitten I'm really interested to play this series but I have a question ... do I need to play the first 3 in order to play the 4th or is it like the Final Fantasy games? I know the general plot of the first one, but that's about all I know. The games are quite standalone. Each one occurs in their own separate 'Netherworlds' so for the most part you could play through them without seeing any former characters until the post-game. Only the second one had a character from the first game as a playable character in its main story, but you aren't starting from there so I guess that is kind of pointless to mention. That said, every Disgaea game (and heck, almost every N1 game in general) will have cameos from past game characters and even other series characters that are made from the same company. No need to worry about it though. Just get this one and enjoy. :) As for me, I'm on the second cycle just so I could make an Android. At the very least, I've unlocked every base version of every class and I spent a good deal of time spamming the heck out of MO4 to level people up so I was able to steamroll through the last chapter of the game with only a couple of characters in the level 1000+ range. |

Thanks!!! I was given the 4th one as a gift and I was getting sad thinking I wouldn't be able to play it right away. |

I still like 2 the best, but that's just cause I spent huge amount of time in that game. Disgaea 4 is good, but I don't play much anymore (so I can't max everything this time around >.<).

I'm really hoping to pick this game up either this week or next week. But it seems only a handful of Gamestops in my area carry it, and most of them are low in stock
I love Disgaea and this one seems to be the best one yet. |
