Is it just me or since Episode 16 the anime has diverged from the manga?

For those of you who read the manga as well what do you think of what they're doing with the anime story vs the manga story?

Wow! I started reading the manga right now. and you are right, as well as others. It is drastically different. I never, ever thought that manga would be this different. I mean, the anime Death Note was close to the manga. I like them both

I don't see the point in choosing one over the other. Both are good in their own special way. Kinda like how there are many different versions of Batman. Or many different versions of The Power Rangers. But yeah. I began reading the manga starting with chapter 15. Looks like Rin is the only demon after all. :(

But I think there should be a sticky. One for people watching the anime and another for people reading the manga, since they are very different. But there's no reason why people can't enjoy both.

Chapter 16

Edit: OK. Yukio's more cheeky in the manga. and he seems more human. His character is has more dimensions to him. In the anime, his character just seems to be one way. In the manga, he has more layers. He is more complicated. He's like a real human being with all the complexities of a real human being. Fears, doubts, a cheeky side. He is not Mr. Professor Man all the way through like in the anime.

Chapter 17

Edit: OK. Wow! It really is totally different and surprising. Of course, like I said, Rin is the only demon and Yukio has no demonic powers. But Shiemi who is so supportive and friendly to Rin in the anime is afraid of him in the manga O_O I was SHOCKED to see that. I guess they are trying to create some sort of romance love triangle between Rin, Shiemi, and Izumo. But Shiemi is afraid of Rin in the manga or at least on Chapter 17. She is extremely afraid of him and Izumo is the only one who's nice to him. Now that I see the manga, there is a STRONGER possibility for a Rin and Izumo romance. and romance between Rin and Shiemi is virtually impossible. I mean, reading 16 and 17, Shiemi is SO AFRAID of Rin. She's not the the accepting, understanding, cheerleader that we get to see in the anime.

Yeah I'd really like to read the manga, but it seems like the anime is going on what we have in mind...like in the anime we started guessing that yukio was a demon after all and it turns out that happened!! I just hope the anime has more seasons. I dont mind that its different from the manga. I mean both of them are different. It is what it is.

It is what it is (o^w^o) But man, it is so SHOCKING. I mean, we get to see Bon's dad. It's like,"wwwhhhhaaaaaa???" I am so shocked that we get to see Bon's dad. I mean, the anime is good. But the manga is like AWESOME. Bon's dad. Yay!!! He is so different from Bon. I mean, reading the manga is so shocking and surprising. Mainly because it's totally different from the anime. It's like a whole new story. It just goes totally and completely in a different direction. But damn, my computer keeps acting up. each and every time I "turn the page" it says "Page Cannot Be Displayed." So annoying. It makes reading the manga discouraging

There are many websites where you could read the manga. Just google manga+ao no exorcist

Btw, did you know that Mephisto is the Impure King???? I was like, Wow!
And the Left Eye of the Impure King and the Right Eye of the Impure King is something that belongs to Mephisto.
It's like, Wow! This is an interesting story, I wonder why it isn't in the anime. But maybe it will show up later.

I heard that the manga to REBORN is different from the anime. It's just out of order and some changes here and there. But just in case they don't show it in the anime, I think everybody should go online and read the manga. It's really good (o^w^o)

Man! You would like the manga. Yukio's so cheeky. I mean, man. In the anime, it's in consent teacher mode where he acts like a teacher ALL the time. In the manga, he's more cheeky. It's like Daaayyuuuuummmm. I never knew that Yukio could be such a smart-ass. It's like o_O Why don't they show this in the anime??? I would love to see his cheeky side being brought out in the anime, too.

Chapter 24

OMG! Reading Chapter 24, Fujimoto Shiro acts JUST LIKE RIN. This was when he was 34. I'm assuming that this was BEFORE he adopted Rin and Yukio. He acts EXACTLY LIKE RIN. Man, there's personalities match up perfectly. o_O

Never mind, he's WORSE. Just read Chapter 24, he's WORSE. Damn, having 2 children DEFINITELY changed him.

Wow! Looks like Mephisto isn't the Impure King after all. (I don't know if it was a mistranslation or if the character got it wrong. Earlier it said, Mephisto, The Impure King, now it looks like Mephisto and the Impure King are different demons.)

Ahaha that's cuz fujimoto shiro is awesome :). And yea that would be cool to see a different side of Yukio. Cuz he's kinda funny but kinda just boring at the same time in the anime. And hmmmm 2 different demons.

Well, he's still Yukio. It's not like he's a totally and completely different character. But he's been cheeky here and there. As in, a smartass. Well, I say cheeky, I'm just using a clean word for smartass. He's still Yukio. So, I'm not saying he's acting like a totally and completely different character. He's still has is serious side.

But it's like, Rin said,"Yukio. I will surpass you."
and Yukio says something like,"When have you ever caught up to me." with a smirk on his face.
Rin goes to jail like, I'm assuming weeks. Maybe months later in manga time.
and Yukio says,"Is this your way of surpassing me??"

When I say cheeky, what I really mean is. We see him acting like a smartass more often. Kinda like when Rin and Bon got into a fight and Yukio held Rin back and told Bon to tell him off. You could say he's acting more like a jerk if you want. Cheeky, smartass, jerk, whatever you want to use. But if you remember Rin's fight with Bon and how Yukio told Bon to tell Rin off. Much more like that.

But you hardly get to see Yukio anyway. I mean, there was this scene were Yukio and Rin saved a boy. Then Yukio had to go somewhere. While Rin and everybody else went to Kyouto. Then, we didn't see Yukio again until Rin went to prison. Now Rin is coincidentally about to be executed XD So, in both the anime and the manga he's being executed XD But for different reasons. He didn't go beserk again. The reason he's in jail is because he showed off his flames to suguro's family, and they all found out that he was a demon and felt very upset by it and thought Rin was dangerous. That's why Rin's being executed. But Bon and the others are trying to rescue him because. Well, Rin used his flames because Bon and his dad were at odd terms with each other. and Rin wanted Bon to get along with his father.

Bon realizes that Rin is right. So now Bon and the others are trying to rescue him. I haven't finished reading chapter 26, yet. I'm almost finished XD

Whoa! This is a good part. Bon makes a very good point about Rin, which DEFINITELY should've been added to the anime: http://www.mangareader.net/ao-no-exorcist/26/36
