I was wondering my Japanese is very low not conversational yet, so im looking at buying the region free blue ray of steins;gate all of them. The problem is that outside of japan i don't see no one selling them and sense i can not read Japanese yet, I have no idea how many shows are on one blue-ray etc.

1) is there a USA seller?

2) how many episodes are on 1 blue ray (BTW there what 4 blue-ray's only?)

3) barring that is there a English version of this page? http://steinsgate.tv/index.html

1) FUNImation plans to release the DVDs (possibly Blurays) sometime in 2012.

2) [ For this question, I am unsure, but here's my 2 cents] I think it's around 4 episodes [for Japan] per Bluray. They're quite expensive.

3) Using Google Chrome, there is an option to translate the page into English but it does not translate text on images.

Japan is 2 episodes per BD so you'll need a good 60.000 yen plus shipping fees (and customs, depending) if you're buying singles. IF there's ever a box set, it won't be cheaper than 40.000 yen (that's being positive).

Or wait for the American release which is gonna be $80 tops.

thanks AsuraCryin , I was wondering what that 2012 date was all about, yea that what i was thinking too that japan blue ray is 4 only. I did not know that about goggle chrome I've been told that i should drop Firefox and pick up chrome if i want to stream shows and that was someone from hulu who told me that.

Yea underlock and thanks, i know for awhile now that japan is higher than USA on all stuff as far as i know, for most stuff im fine with that because i will most likely NEVER see it in USA at all. Hmm but it $89 over in japan i guess if USA gets a discount that will make money?

Yup, 68,000 Yen ($87.38 USD) per Blu-Disk. Of course I am looking at the limited edition (Already Sold Out) which comes with art books.

AsuraCryin already answered.

I go to the following website : http://cdjapan.co.jp

Currently there are only 4 Blu-Disks available for sale (Volumes #1-4). I believe this is a 24 episode show. They anticipate this to be a 9 disk release.

Looking at each disk Volumes 1 and 2 would have 2 episodes each. Volumes 3 through 9 would have 3 episodes each. Keep in mind this is a Japanese release with raw Japanese and no subtitles.

Nice that would help that there not that many blue-ray's, it seems that we get a deal if 3 through 9 would have 3 episode because in the usa you pay $30 per cd? Nm i just looked it up most have 4 episodes for $30 still not a bad deal i suppose

mmm I dont know,

I got my Japanese Bluray 2 disk set with an art book for Arakawa Under the Bridge and each disc hold 6-7 Episodes and I got it at the convention from the NIS booth ,Its about 60 US dollars and maybe more now because of the economy.

So wait for the set since the anime just completed , now they will rerelease and sell it as a set with the artbook ...maybe.... Check ebay for Japanese seller.

Since Funimation licensed this for the North America release then Its probably better to wait for the set which is probably about 3 bluray disc.
The Funimation release of Samurai 7 was 26 episodes and they put in it in 3 discs complete set and Samurai 7 was already in HD. So I would say 3 discs... but then you have to wait for a while.

I myself wlll not buy dvd anymore because you can see the difference between a DVD and Bluray in a big screen HDTV.

^ Marketing is a serious bitch. It's done in such a way that the franchise retains some amount of presence after its initial airing, usually a year off from it's last episode airing. They can distribute the number of episodes in each volume accordingly, but the purpose isn't so much as to optimize the blu ray's capacity; rather, to optimize the amount of time and exposure the series can have.

yeap yeap... thats why i am patient in collecting these things.Since I can stream the anime online , there is no point to rush and buy the scheduled release of the official hard copy.

And thats why there is piracy because it is too expensive to buy the real deal and distribution is too slow.

but as for others who really must have the dvd now, good luck .
