Are you making sure that the links are together .
If that still happens then just duplicate the image then sharpen it .
Lower the opacity until have the result that you want .

Ok the way I see flow as is just the way the picture is moving like in this one :

As you can see the water is going down then it is splashing up .
If you can imagine arrows go down and then up that is the flow of it .
Our eyes follow the picture . So in a sense when we look at this one
our eyes should go down and do a "splash" up .
In this picture :

The womans hair is "blowing" to the left .
Our eyes follow her hair
Same with this picture :

Like in the lesson the flow for the girl that I used in the banner ,
her body was twisted to the left . However , her arm was
coming over to the right . I used these directions to help
position the textures that would compliment that render .
You can think of flow as "directional flow" or "eye direction"
Follow your eyes they will tell you what to do .
