Oh lordy, I've been waiting for this game since the announcement trailer, I have it pre-ordered too.

I'm thinking of going with a Warrior my first playthrough because I think it is an all-around good build to start with.

Hmm I've gone with warrior to get a good feel of the game and I'm trying to see if a Str and faith build will hold up on it's own..

I was forced to watch my friend play this game on launch night, midnight release,

She finished Demon's Souls only dying 2 times and platinum'd it,

It took her until Dark Soul's to FINALLY say.

"Yeah, they don't have any new tricks."

15 minutes later and her first death, losing 8000 souls,

"This game is broken and unplayable."

Well, from watching her play Demon's Souls and play Dark Souls,

I am not getting Dark Souls, but I have Demon's Souls, lost 1200 souls from something completely unavoidable, got the soul back and died again from the same unavoidable dragon, then I decided the Souls series will stay on Gamestop's Shelf.

It will, since that's the build of the Cleric class. strength and faith. Though warrior is probably a better choice since you got more melee stats. I'd invest into resistance since you probably aren't going to have enough for either endurance or vitality.

Oh and if you want a free talisman you can find one in a secluded part in Firelink Shrine, along with homeward bone x 6 and a morning star. Go toward the thorulund cleric, climb the stairs up until you're near the elevators and face the open area. Look for a crack in the buildings and you should see chests. You have to sprint and jump to get there. The height is pretty intense so you should be at at least half health.

Also, there is Lloyd's talisman in the chest in the spot where you have to exit. You'll have to run though since it drops you off at the firelink cemetary. If you aren't above soul level 25+, chances are the skeletons will give you a hard time. Hope a free talisman helps your str/fth build.

8000 souls in fifteen minutes? I want her farming trick. Also the game isn't that hard once you learn the projectary of the bosses attacks and the patterns common enemies follow. I'm halfway through Blightown and the only *ultra* annoying boss was the Capra demon and its two dogs. By the way, if anyone is going to go down to section 2 of Undead Burg and face it early on, I recommend pumping points into resistance and finding the black firebombs in section 1 of undead burg. Its weak to fire, so any pyromancers should have a vacation with him.

My Knight build

VIT: 15
ATT: 10
END: 17
STR: 27
DEX: 16
RESIST: 14
INTEL: 8
FTH: 11

Pure melee, I can one hand the zweihander and still swing it pretty quickly. I've farmed alot of Titanite shards from the undead parish though to upgrade the Elite Knight set I got from the Darkroot garden. Generally hard to kill, and my test run against the Gaping Dragon proved it. I'm also planning on augmenting him with the talisman I got and getting heal eventually since I have a tendency of taking unnecessary damage.

Several key things I want to help people with.

Undead Burg

Bridge to Undead Parish

Blightown

Okay! Thats about it, I imagine. Hopefully this helps somebody.

Not in fifteen minutes, fifteen minuter later, I kept leaving to get her food, drinks etc, and she basically never moved but to go to the bathroom for 3 minutes,

I wonder why she just didn't go to the Nexus, but then when she got back, she informed me the Nexus went bye-bye and you still can't pause, which means there's no safe place in Dark Souls, robbing gamers of the mandatory ability to pause, no safety even pause.

The game is dark like Demon Souls, then something just out of blackness with no warning to speak of classic Demon Souls style,

She ran back and there was an enemy there somehow, despite the fact she had just came that way, then she got hit and 8000 souls went adios,

After about 4 hours, constantly walking with her shield up, cutting anything that looked suspicious, was wasted because a random inconvient enemy was placed in a narrow black hallway, on a game with no flashlight(Or lantern),

And after her raging about how bad it was, I thought Demon Souls was enough of the soul series.

Oh god I cannot play this game due to the constant interruptions I always have to deal with especially when I was fighting the Capra demon ugh

Alright i rolled a pyromancer due to it starting in SL 1.
Also,im thinking of joining the Blades of the Darkmoon or maybe the Sunbros.
But that 50 Faith bullcrap ain't looking very good.
Also,Ceaseless Discharge! WHY WON'T YOU DIE!!!!

I'll try to go online once i manage to beat the game once.
Also this game's feel is more of that to King's Field than Demon's Souls even though it has the same gameplay.

Yeah,i did that as well.
Luckily i managed to dodge at the last second and did chip damage until it died.

I swear i needed a better weapon back then besides my hand axe when all i had was limited magic.

I don't have a PS3 of an Xbox 360, so I couldn't play even if I wanted too. Plus, you need an active internet connection to play, right? I don't really have one.

Ah, well, Skyrim seems more fun anyhow.
