totally depends.
but i think heres what usually happens:
guy: goes out drinking with his friend.
girl: goes out shopping with her friends.

after they get home:
guy: takes a nap or goes online.
girl: starts destroying pics of them together.

i think the girl is....

Can't answer something so vague with a definite response, especially when the term 'bitter', can be interpreted in so many different ways. Unless you were just looking to tally the amount of stereotypical and/or biased responses.

Is this a serious question? It's women, and here's why; men fuck shit up, women, are fucked up. It's basic science! Ever hear the expression "Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."?

Too many variables, honestly. Really depends if the guy or the girl spoilt the relationship, and who wouldn't be comfortable reverting back to 'just friends'.

I haven't had a very good time with relationships, so I'm pretty compelled to play Devil's advocate and say the women are most at fault. All the women I've had an interest in, dated, and summarily broke up with have had a tendency to become crossed despite my best efforts to revert back to friends. Nothing really pleasant or anything I want to talk about.

That'd be based on my own experience though and no factual statistic, so that has as much value as a handful of sand in the middle of the desert.

Do you think temperament influences how someone reacts to "getting dumped"? I can recall, for instance having someone break up with me, and while I certainly wasn't unfazed by any means - it really hurts - I didn't go out of my way to lash out at the guy, either. But since I'm an INTP, I tend to internalize my emotions to a certain extent. I'm not sappy.

I do recall trying to downgrade a relationship with this guy whom I'd only dated for about two weeks, and I did it as kindly as possible (that dreaded "friends" discussion): He ended up throwing every flyer in the box I brought with me out all over his front lawn as he escorted me out, actively insulting me as he let the door hit me in the ass. I think that was a tad reactionary, if you ask me.

I don't like this thing about asking to be friends. Quitefrankly you girls are just comforting yourselves by doing that, and if you do that me you'll get a very straightforward "fuck off". Assuming we already are in a deeper relationship, which most likely wouldn't happen to begin with.

Or just afraid of finding an aggressive man who won't take a straight "no, get out".

Women are definitely more mellow dramatic about it from my experience. Txting me poetic shit to try and make me feel guilty whereas I just stfu and get on with it and don't whine about it. If I need comforting I'll go out with my mates to help me to forget, but chicks go out with their girls just to bitch about us and tell them how were dicks and ruined your life. Waa -__-

This is why I don't get into serious relationships. Too much drama.
But if I were to be dumped, and we were in a serious one, I'd go all psycho and do terrible things to the ex.

No one dumps me. I dump them.

So yeah, girls are more bitter after a break up than guys.

It depends. For me I'm not, I'll be chilling and my mind goes into a different place.

If by bitter you mean pissed off and wants to be left alone? men, definately.
women want support after they've had a break up while men heal over time cos
it makes them feel stronger afterwards.
