Tired of watching the same movies, and want something fresh?

Introducing a new service 'Recommend Me a Movie!' is all about serving one's special needs. Now you can ask for recommendations without making a personal thread!

Some simple guidelines to follow:

- Posts should be only about:
1. asking for a recommendation from fellow members
2. recommending films to a particular member whom had requested earlier.

- Being specific and clear (for requesters)
1. Do include what genres and types of films you prefer to watch.
2. If you aren't sure what you want to watch, but hope for recommendations that are similar to certain films that you have watched, kindly include a list of said films in your post.

Format Guideline <-- (To make it clearer and easier for members to identify and help with advice. At least include relevant info.)

List of films to recommend:
- I actually only have one film. HEART STRING MARIONETTE! Oh my god that movie so freakin amazing. The official description doesn't match what this animated movie is about at all. Its about a monster slayer whose father just happens to be the devil. The monster slayer roams from town to town killing his father's demonic creations until a final showdown occurs. And what you think will happen does not happen at all. The monster slayer has a sword of sorrow embedded in his heart that he pulls out of his chest when in battle. The sword happens to sing a song of sorrows right before destroying its enemies. Very trippy. The movies itself has an awesome soundtrack if you are also big into music.

Heart String Marionette is Nightmare Before Christmas meets Ninja Scroll meets maybe a bit of Escaflowne and Enter the Dragon. I am certain that you will have never watched anything like it before in your life. I keep telling everyone I know to go see it because I've never come across anything quite like it before. If you watch it I do hope you enjoy it.

Movie: The Midnight Meat Train
Genre: Horror
Score: 3/10 (really 8/10 and 2/10 at the same damn time!)

Where to watch this? At the house; on the bed; with your significant other.
How was the movie? So this movie is weird. This movie is two movies that meet up in the middle. Now the un-horror part is great! 8 out of 10, Bradley Cooper and Leslie Bibb relationship on camera is perfect. But the rest of this movie is ass. It’s sad because Vinnie Jones is a good actor and he’s the main person but the way its shot was just bad. He has a fight scene with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson but it’s just bad! And the person doing the CG in this movie was laughable! If your trying to laugh with your significant other and then in middle movie sleep if them this movie is perfect for you. Just as soon as the sex scene happens cut off the movie and do your thing. But other then that, don’t watch this (unless you love Bradley Cooper).

Magnolia. So freaking good. Kind of weird but the acting is superb. Also, Tom Cruise as a sexual health motivational speaker haha.

By far, the greatest movie ever will have to be Trainspotting.

Have any of you seen Star Wars? The movie that blew away everyone during the 70s? Having so much popularity is sky-rocketed out of the box office. Well, if you're a fan such as I, you will know who Obi-Wan Kenobi is. He's Ewan McGregor, such a fine, gorgeous man at that. (Not to mention he's Scottish!)

Well, in Trainspotting, you get to see the famous Obi-Wan Kenobi as a sick, rotting, piece of Scottish filth who's killing himself with heroin. I know, I know. That sounds overwhelming, boring, weird, nasty, and for sure depressing. Hear me out: it's now a cult classic. The famous writer, Irvine Welsh, wrote the novel. He's fantastic! I recommend his books, but I warn you; they are difficult as hell to read. Since he is from Scotland, he writes how he speaks. With all slang, and the actually way to pronounce things.

ALSO. Are any of you a fan of Tim Burton? Famous man of The Nightmare Before Christmas? Mr. Jack Skellington, and Ms. Sally the Ragdoll? Or Big Fish? Ewan McGregor played in Big Fish! He was Edward Bloom, his dad!

The movie is hilarious, if you are still reading, and captures your attention with realization of what happens. If you all don't like screaming, blood, cursing, death, and drugs and alcohol. Stop reading, and return to the glorious anime. I saw this thread, and decided to share my interests in movies.

Any fans of Johnny Lee Miller? He plays a huge role in the movie too. Sick-Boy.

I used to use the site mysoju to find similar movies I might like, but it has been down for ages Most of the ones I have watched are based off of Shoujo mangas. Generally anything cute and light hearted but please nothing scary nor tragic with a sad ending. I like happy endings
Genres that I wish to be recommended: Romance, Comedy
Fav film titles that are similar to what I would like to be recommended:
Hana Yori Dango, Paradise Kiss, Kimi Ni Todoke, OHHC, High School Debut, Lovely Complex, Ai Ore,

There are tons of sites out there that are very similar to mysoju. One I normally go to is viki.com. It is similiar to mysoju in that it has lots of dramas on it but it's all done legally like crunchy roll and high quality up to 1080 on the more recent releases. There is no payment required. You just have to put up with the ads unless you have adblock installed. Plus I like watching it with comments on so because most of them are quite entertaining to read along with the dramas.

As for actual Japanese movies, "Train man". Awesome movie about a real life incident. Otaku who saves a pretty looking women on the train from harassment and gets advice from the internet on how to interact with her. Very romantic story.
