Normal is what's accepted by the majority of society, whatever's mainstream, whatever the media wants you to believe.
Or...
"Normal is something people are until you get to know them. Everybody's crazy" - Michael Bolton. Yes, even the crazy 80's hair guys are right.

'Normal' is synonymous with 'traditional'. Normal isn't good, because following tradition is backwards in the modern society.

People seem to be confusing "normal" with "normality". The former is a relative sense of what is deemed to be "within reasonable parameters of a given subject", such that I could say that someone with a twitch in his cheek is "abnormal" compared to the majority of people of similar stature as that man - but given his condition (i.e. Cerebral palsy), it is "normal" for him to have such and such.
The later is a social construct based on what is considered acceptable in a given society. Instead of relativity, we're dealing with dichotomy.
If the point of this thread was to talk about what is "normal" in the relative context, then normal for me is a very broad topic and should be narrowed down to a specific context. For example, "what is the usual (normal) amount of sleep (for you)?" For me, normal is 3-4 hours. This has nothing to do with the prescribed amount of sleep (6-8 hours), because that doesn't refer to normality; rather, ideality. Unless my normal was actually 6 hours, but recently I've only had 3-4 hours of sleep, then that is undoubtedly "abnormal", if not pathological.

Acting normal is acting accordingly to what's socially appropriate.

Normal is being interested in all the things that about 70 percent of the people around you are interested in, and acting like 70 percent of the people around you, I guess.
I can be kinda loud, nice, nonsocial at times (depends on the time of day and who I'm with) . Normal for me is what everybody considers weird. I'm average height, weight, shoe size, etc, though, so people assume I act like 70 percent of the US population, but I'm unique in my own way.

This is a very subjective thing, you're asking about.
What's "normal" say, in Hong Kong is "radical" to the Mongolians.

There really is no such thing as "NORMAL".
Too many variables!

Hm, not sure lets check urban dictionary
normal
A word made up by this corrupt society so they could single out and attack those who are different
normal
One who masturbates a lot.
normal
a statistic based upon a majority
normal
1. An idealistic state of being that remains as such. Because the idea of such a state varies from being to being and any set standard is nonetheless someone elses idea of what it is this condition warrants satisfactory confirmation of being amongst the confirmed members of such class, by the individuals code.
2. Normal is about as concrete as the idea of "love". The meaning is constantly evolved to suit the momentary desires and/or needs of a single person, or group of people.
3. A tool of conformity.
Normal
There is no such thing as normal so there really cant be a definition......
no one or no thing is Normal....normal doesnt exist
Normal
What is "normal?" It seems as though the weirder you are, the more you fit in...so that means that weird is normal. If weird is normal, then that means that if you are normal you are weird, so in order to be normal you must be weird, which makes you normal all over again. Which is weird. It is a perpetual cycle.
normal
1 : a state of being
2 : highly over-rated
3 : being excruciatingly boring
