As a forewarning: Please, I'm not here to breed trolls. If you have never liked RuneScape, that's perfectly fine. Post your opinion, everybody has a right to believe what they want. I myself haven't played RuneScape in two some years, but I just want to make a thread about what it was.

I started playing Runescape when I was about 12 or 13. I was very new to the whole Internet thing, and I fell in love with it. To me, this game was magic and happiness. I roamed the world, doing quests and slaying beasts. Scamming noobs and making friends, participating in intense player battles and groaning whenever I lose another DDS.

I'll admit, Runescape is falling. It has been for quite some time now. I used to love the game, played it for years. It was unique and interesting, and I LOVED the quests. Every one was well detailed and crafted, a work of art. The first time I did the Romeo and Juliet quest, I swear I had a nerdgasm. When I had to retrieve the mythical Excalibur and slay the nefarious demon, I was enchanted by the beauty of it. Gearing up and taking on Elvrag to unlock the right to wear a RUNITE PLATE was intoxicating. I remember the time that Jagex released the "Dragon Plate", being a literal plate that you spin. I thought it was an actual platemail, much to my dismay. It was hilarious. The quest where you had to sneak into the Dark Knight's castle and plant a poisoned cabbage into their stew was AWESOME! It was an honestly fun game. I loved how I could be ANYTHING...If I wanted to be a mage one day, I could! I could also be a warrior, or whatever I wanted. A spell slinging ranger? Hell yes! Most MMO's focus on "Classes" and "Tiers", with preset skills and almost all content based on combat. Do any here remember the time they got their first random event? Suddenly having a demon pop up, and teleport you away to a boot camp was hilarious. Or, not so hilarious when you got the Random Event that summoned a massive plant that...kinda killed you. Good thing they removed that.

I remember training all the skills. From herbology to thieving, it was awesome. I even had fun training Agility, running through the minigame courses. There was honestly nothing like participating in an intense PvP duel, with all risks and all reward. Running out into level 30 wilderness with my DDS and Granite maul, just to get ganked by some guys using the Rock Ring to hide as stones was frustrating but fun. The first time I descended into the deepest wilderness and slaughtered a troupe of high levels was insane! It was addicting. I lost lots, yet I gained lots. Remember when Zezima was the GOD of Runescape? Or when TheOldNite finally passed away, bless his old heart? Actually, that reminds me. I once talked with TheOldNite, and he gave me a hundred thousand gold. I never knew he was famous then, since I had just started Runescape. But...It was cool. I had three encounters with Zezima as well, once just outside Falador, once in the Werewolf-village place, and finally in Party Pete's.

This is a lot of posting. I miss Runescape. I wish I had the time in life to play it, but I don't. Growing up kinda sucks. Does anybody else have any nostalgic stories? Just a bit of reminiscing? Perhaps the time you slew your first Greater Demon, or tried to take on that nasty three-headed doom-dragon? Getting scammed out of all your items, or achieving your first player kill? Making your first ten thousand gold? Anything. I...just want some nostalgic tales. It'd be cool if you could post your username and/or levels.

My character was named Faerycries (My mother, the awesome lady she was, shared the account.) A level 109 or so. I have about a 160 million sitting in my bank, along with Full gold trimmed wizzy robes, Saradomin armor, a Dharok set, and all pieces of Dragon armor asides the Plate. I had a lot of other things, I honestly don't remember what. Making money was easy...Head to the elf village, grab a woodcutting axe and the tele crystal, and run to the magic trees. Chop a bunch down, then fletch them into longbows, string 'em and alch 'em. Made a killing, and trained my Woodcutting, fletching AND magic.

Oh. Also...Please don't flame me.

Note: I have the sad feeling that nobody will reply to this. That's OK, I'll know it's here if I ever want to feel nostalgic again. I miss the freedom of youth...

Well, I guess this was to be expected. Nigh everybody on Crunchyroll is either a weeaboo or a whiner, so they tend to stay in the respective forums for that. We need more gamers here...

Sorry, sexy. I used to be a heavy console gamer, and a year or two back I would probably only post in the gaming section. But anyways, yeah, I played runescape from 03 to 07. Best times of my life so far.

Finally! Thank you for posting. I'm glad to know that somebody else actually played it, and enjoyed it. Every day people I know tell me of how much it fails, and how much better WoW is, or whatnot. What consoles do you mainly play on? I've only ever had a PS1 and PS2. I'm kinda poor, heh. (Note: Poor = Lazy.)

P.S: It's not sexy. It's more like...Dweeb. Do you know Jon Arbuckle, from the Garfield comics? Nerdy dweeb, not very smart, ugly looking and can never get a girl? Think of him as me.

That really annoyed me how some people would compare WoW to Runescape. Sure, they're both MMORPG's, but they're COMPLETELY different. Runescape is a hell of a lot more casual, and you can even play for free if you want. I did try to get back into it in 09 and last year, but I just played for a month, on and off every now and again, watching how the game got worse and worse. Summoning and Dungeoneering, the 2 new "skills" are absolute jokes. Oh, but like I said, I USED to play console games. Now I just play a little bit of PS3, and I often go back to my gamecube, PS1 and PS2 games to get some nostalgia. Other than that, it's just handhelds like the DS, because I mostly play PC games such as SC2 and TF2.

P.S: Wow. And I thought I put myself down.

Oh my beloved three-winged flying pumpernickel penguins! You took the words RIGHT out of my mouth. I would honestly name you an honorary member of my elite squad, but...I haven't gotten around to deciding the name of it yet. It was something between "The great intestine stranglers" and "Murderous rampaging bandits"...As a side note, I have met only one other person who views Runescape in the same way as you do, and that's my mother. I hated Summoning , mostly because of what a grind it was. Expensive too!
I never really did Dungeoneering, to be completely honest. I tried to log in, but it won't let me. I guess my account must have been hacked, because it's still in the high scores...Oh. And, if I may ask, do you have any favorite Gamecube/PS1/PS2 games? I'd love to know what they are. Research purposes only, of course. I'll make sure that none of the information makes it out to the general public.

And don't worry, I don't often put myself down. I just tell the truth how it is. If I wanted, I could say I was a strapping handsome 20 year old doctor with eight degrees in modern medicine and a gigantic...toaster. Because EVERYBODY needs some toast!

P.S: A-HA! I have done it! I learned how to use SPOILERS! Heheheheh. I feel like...I should go and get some coffee.

Sir, I applaud everything about you. But why not combine the two names? The elite squad could be named: "The Great Murderous Rampaging Intestine Strangling Bandits...from hell." Or TGMRISBFH for short. Maybe you could pronounce it like "The Tuhguhmorisbfuhuh." Just a thought. Oh, and unfortunately, there are so many of the best games of all time on those 3 consoles that I am unable to answer. Tragic, I'm sure. My favourite game of all time however is The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask for the N64. So awesome.

But holy fucking cock-blocking bollocks, my mother plays runescape too. This is so coincidental, we're almost distantly related.

...That is...It...I...

Amazing! It may be a bit long, but the shortened version almost sounds like ancient Mayan for some reason. I can see it now! Our enemies bowed afore us, fear and agony dripping from their souls...As the blade is raised, the chant is uttered...

IN THE NAME OF "THE GREAT MURDEROUS RAMPAGING INTESTINE STRANGLING BANDITS (from hell), YOU SHALL BE PURGED!

*Groupies in the background "TUH-GUH-MO-RIS-BFUHUH!" "TUH-GUH-MO-RIS-BFUHUH!"*...My divine spectral pickles, that would be TERRIFYING! You, my dear sir, have incredibly naming sense. Have you ever thought of becoming a full-time bagel walker? It's quite profitable you know! But...I think we should fit ponies in there somewhere. It's great and all, but...the ponies, man. The ponies.

And, wait. Your mother played Runescape as well? I mean...Wow, holy hell! That is a stranger coincidence than I would like to mention. I take it your mom's pretty damn awesome, huh? It seems nowadays that my friends only come over to hang out with my mom and dad, and they leave me in the background. Outshadowed by parents, black as ink, a night descending. Left to the whims, of those who know, the absolute rule of ponies. A random jumble of words, by Terran.

Majora's Mask...Aye, I played that once 'r twice. I ne'er really 'ad an N64, but a gud friend o' mine had 'un, and I often went there to play 'et. Good times indeed. All you e'er here is people screaming 'bout how awesome the Ocarina of Time 'as, but I never 'eally played it either. Too busy, I guess. I should really download an emulator sometime, an' give it a good run-through. Wish I could jest buy me an N64, but 'twairnt my time to shine, I guess. Considering the fact that I'm absolutely penniless and currently living off of black coffee and stale bread...I should really get off my lazy butt.

Oh gods, this post is long. I haven't had a good chat since the slaughter in 1044, aye. Good memories! I hope you don't mind this lengthy post of a thousand interesting strands of letters, but by Zeus's great co-toaster, I'm having a hell of a time! One final question: Have you ever been bitten by a (largish) dog before? If so, where?

I bid you a fine morning as well! Er, if it be morning where you are. Never can tell you know, the cat-clock tends to strike at noon and ne'er afore!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH I just jizzed from the amazingly beautiful awesomeness that thou hast bestowed upon the discussion board known formally as Crunchy Roll. O'er this thread's six day traffic, history of thy legacy shalt not be forgotten, for it was created this very afternoon...nay, it be morning yonder. TGMRISBFH is of course the subject of my revelation. Dost thou understand?

P.S: Short post (and random at that) because I had no idea what to say, and I thought that your efforts to make such a large post couldn't possibly go to waste, now could they?

Ha-ha, perfect. A splendid ending, I must say! I take you for the compliments, they shall go well with my tea and crumpets. You seem to be quite fluent in yonder olde English, quite an unexpected treat! And please, don't feel the need to reply to my posts. I tend to type whatever is on my mind, which ends up being...Strange. It depends on my mood, I guess.

I'm just finishing up Yumekui Merry. Not a bad show, quite unique...Story is a bit off, but that's fine.

Ta-ta! I bid you farewell, and good luck in your journeys.

Oh, and thank you for the excellent conversation. I shall record it! And maybe input it into a story. What a strange tale that will be...Three widows and a black bear?

(No need to reply. Just bask in my awesome, eternal dweebiness.)

So...You...Necro'd a dead thread, to post a crappy gif and a short sentence? What? You shouldn't necro threads, it's basically a warrant for a ban.

I've played runescape since the runescape you know is still
called runescape 2 while the runescape classic is called runescape.

I still play runescape sometimes usually if I purchase the
1 month membership though.

despite having played for so long I'm still not a 100+ lvl and
not to mention my highest skill is somewhere in the 70s.

I'm more of skiller, trying to make money by making cannonballs
to buy myself a full set of dragon plate armour, the only piece
of armor left to buy now is the dragon full helm.Although I tend to get bored doing those stuff so
I usually train my archery and defense lvl to 99 so that I can be a tanker on the pk frenzy.

Hey, cool! That's awesome. I've played for a long time as well, but my account was shared, so it's pretty high level due to that. Never tried making cannonballs for cash, but I might need to...Logged on recently to discover that my bank was empty, and my inventory was full of mud and skulls. The good news is that I had about 15 million if items/cash on an alt, so...

I'll add you sometime, once I get on. I really wish that I could play more often, but my internet connection where I live currently is horrible, so...Yeah. Great to know that there's still someone out there who plays though!

Wow just reading this thread is bringing back some great memories of the old original wildy and the terrible lag you'd get if were lucky enough to get into world 2 then you went to Fally east bank way before there was the ge, and also the huge uproar when they changed somethings like when they got rid of the wildy, or when they increased the hp by x10. But they did manage to get something right like the quests which nearly all of them were great with all of them having different ways to approach the boss if there was one. Also just remembered that there was a time when if you had 99 in any skill even if it was something easy like cooking or fm people would show some sort of appreciation to it but the last time i went on i got trolled by a lot of people for having 99's in wc,fm,fletch, fish and cooking and not something combat related.
