Alright! I don't really have a least favorite studio, but my all time favorite has to be 'Studio Ghibli'.

Saying 'Studio Ghibli' is a cliche I know, but it's used so often for a reason.

Sure there are some studios that regularly put out good stuff like Sunrise, Madhouse or Bones but that isn't the whole argument. It's come to the point nowadays that it's safe to say that any anime studio can really blow you away with something amazing but they can just as easily disappoint you. It should make you realize that the quality or popularity of an anime isn't solely reliant on the execution by an anime studio.

In my mind, the end product of an anime series depends on three things: first is the material from the magaka/writer, second is the production from said studios and lastly is the environment of a series, external factors and luck. An example being what other anime is it stacked up against. Basically if a show is slotted next to something huge like Gurren Lagann, Haruhi or the upcoming Black Rock Shooter than that show won't get near as much attention even though it may technically be just as good or better.

By that argument you are saying what they are doing is wrong. I mean JC staff and seen, seriously? Their shows have been garbage!

I'm a huge advocate for giving credit when it's due to an anime studio. But my point is that any studio can put out crap just as easily as they put out something great and that the quality of some or maybe even most anime wouldn't change if it were in the hands of another studio.

Hmm I see, I. Definitely agree in that case. I think I wasn't reading the first time xD

And thank you for your effort! Got my reply?

But myosin have been doing consistently good. Maybe l the studios follow their formula, and JC and DEEN are just doing it WRONG with adeptions :/
I mean, seriously? Nirarohypn mago's first season starts with Gyuuki? I immediately dropped it.

And JC staff have been crapping all their adeptions :/ lately at least

Thus why I think they are B. A. D.

Yep, I got your latest message.

Anyway, some studios go through dry spells while others thrive. White Fox, A-1 Pictures and Shaft are some examples of studios who I think are on a good run.

Bones, Brain's Base and Madhouse are my three personal favorites though.

I agree about Studio DEEN really messing up with the adaptation of Nurarhiyon no Mago.

It seem as if they dont know how to make a good intro for this anime and they even messed up the second season intro as well. Its really bad and the animation is lame
.

I like Brain's Base animation work are pretty good like Baccano, Akikan, Natsume Yuujincho.

Bones made alot of quality animation work too, they are pretty consistent.I guess Madhouse would be the mother.I met the creator of Madhouse this past summer and the staff that worked on HIgh school of the Dead.....

Can't really say which animation studio is the best or worst. There's personal preferences but I'll give off my opinion.

I despise J.C. Staff. Okay, I don't hate all of their works but... God damn their tsundere-brat milking of Rie Kugimiya. That shit got old after Shana. Then there's their LN adaptions. They usually suffer from the Rie Kugmiya tsundere disease. Yea. That's why I despise their work. But hey, they do have some decent staff.

I really enjoy Shaft for the variation of styles and references. The art is beautiful (see ef - a tale memo/melo) and the animation is so abstract but can't help but like it. Particularly, the "Shinbo" style really does have interesting points to it to attract me. Some will hate it because it's now "fluid" animation but I like how it is, and that's fine with me.

after shana?? that was here fist i thought.. call me tone deaf but i didn't catch on until the four main series I like her in and I am sure we all know what those are.

Hmm.. A studio I hate... ...Damn this is tough.. J.C.Staff nof for the same reason as Asura but the reason is that they do poor and shitty otaku pandering to fans just to make a quick buck.. okay maybe it's the same. My main example is with the rail gun anime vs the manga.. the anime is more calm back slice of life with sfici/dram here or ther "which by no means is bad" but after reading the magna.. misaka was done wrong... "get your mind out the damn gutter" she is such much more of a bad-ass and will not hesitate to even kill someone when she is pissed off. J.C. Staff tends to also take very minor charters like saten-san and make them in to a larger roles "again not really that bad" however they could have covered more material after her levelupper arc was done. So.. hmm.. well here is a prime example... Aria of the scarlet ammo... great manga/light novel, male lead is bad-ass, anime=pussy version of male lead. I can flat out say after seeing a lot of j.c.'s stuff over the years.. if you hear the words light novel adapt, then j.c.staff don't watch it until it's finished airing your might get another yuki merry ending

hmm.. my favorite...pfftt.. well This is a obvious one for me.. Key/Visual Arts

I don't read enough manga to determine whether or not they butcher anything but I also think that gives me a good perspective when evaluating the anime on it's own merits.

Key does have a pretty damn impressive track record though.

yes but when you try to arguee with fans that there is better material out there and the series as whole gets shoved aside due a shitty adaptation then who's to blame? i go people to read the aira manga and znt light novel because of how the adapts where, think of it this way.. 4kids does.. higurashi "not really a studio but the adaption to a western audience is in mind" so they would take the source material shit on it, then hand over a version so they can sell for quick buck. J.C. staff needs to stop this.. however index, kamisama and some their older series 09 below are really good.

No, I agree. I was just saying that I personally don't have enough knowledge of manga to compare the two mediums so I try to judge an anime series by itself. That's all I can do.

Anyway, the majority of the time when a studio does take liberties with the material the end product is not as good as it could be or as as appealing as the original work. There are exceptions to this rule but that is the general consensus.

Personally, Maduse hadn't been making anything good got ms since they made death note. So I dunno about their glorious past......

Good to know since no one is messaging me back!

Sums it up, it was such a well-written manga too...... I think mangaka need to consult Otaku means now days before handing over their manga to a crappy studio.

Madhouse have done so many good shows they almost dwarf everyone else.

Denno Coil, Nana, Black Lagoon, Hajime no Ippo to name a few great ones.

Don't forget the more recent and very good Kaiji, Tatami Galaxy and Redline.

Not only do Madhouse works usually feature great animation, they contain even greater stories.

I agree, if HIgh School of the Dead was done by someone else, i don't think the outcome would have been as good.I am not that crazy about zombie genre but this title was done well. And the staff sure had fun making this one
