All in all I love the roku app. I have 3 of them now. Yes, I am also anxiously awaiting a higher stream resolution for Roku. Come on Crunchyroll, make it happen! You know you want to |

I agree! Please give us 720p/1080p on the Roku app. Makes me sad that anime I watch on Funimation's app looks so much better than CR

I just ordered Roku and it should arrive in a week.
I can't wait to test Crunchy Roll in Roku. I pay that someday (soon) Crunchyroll will offer 720p and 1080p on the Roku. |

I love CR anime on an actual TV via the Roku. Please keep supporting it! The HD thing isn't an issue for me personally, as all our TVs at home are CRT. However, I have noticed that some anime don't appear on there that are on the website.

A play on words? I assume that should read, "I pray that someday...", but considering you would need to be a premium member to view in HD, "pay" is appropriate. avian-reader wrote: However, I have noticed that some anime don't appear on there that are on the website. Have you verified that you have "Show Mature Content" set in your Video Preferences? (It isn't on by default). |

I thought the roku supported HD on CR? I was planning on getting one since I moved my ps3 from the living room for my bedroom and wanted something to replace it for HD netflix and CR streaming. I very rarely watch CR there I prefer watching in my room from my computer laid down on my bed in front of my 34" sony trinitron I have connected to it alongside the 32" lcd I use as a monitor.HD anime never looked so good and was only $20 from craigslist crt is best display tech for anime imo. Its mostly for netflix so I can watch 1080p 5.1 movies when available on my 60" t.v but want to know if I will get HD streaming from CR from this at least 720p when I do decide to watch there.

Nothing wrong with that CRT have high contrast ratio, very deep blacks, and excellent color reproduction make them awesome for anime its even better if you have a 1080i sony trinitron so you benefit from the increased sharpness and detail of HD anime and there just higher quality displays in general. Although if your limited to CR 480p streams they aren't high enough bitrate to give you full quality anime on even a SD crt although they seem to vary in the quality some anime 480p streams are better then then others like Squid girl vs Chitose get you(although this also applies there 720p and 1080p streams). |

Nope, not yet. As you'll note, 2 dots are the most you'll see for quality on the Roku. Assuming the dots indicate the same data rate as they do for Netflix: 1 dot = 0.5Mbps 2 dots = 1.0Mbps 3 dots = 1.6Mbps 4 dots = 2.2Mbps While NicoNico.com did some 720p simulcasts that came in at around 1.0Mbps (0.9 - 1.1Mbps for most), Crunchyroll's bitrate is higher. One website reported the data rates from CR's website (for recent material) as 1.776Mbps for 720p (1.5Mbps for older 720p) and 3.072Mbps for 1080p. I'm not certain if the "HD" indicator is part of the Roku firmware, but you would definitely be seeing 3 quality dots during loading of the video if it were 720p. Don't expect 1080p on the Roku any time soon, as even PS3 and XBOX 360 owners only get 720p maximum (and not all Roku models can do 720p). |

Roku 2 SX has an Ethernet port as well as Wifi support , it also has some games and comes with a bluetooth remote
for them.it has a microsd card slot for extra channel / game storage and a USB 2 port to provide access to your own media files (mp3, mp4, and jpg/png). The iOS and Android apps turn your phone or tablet into extra controller. |

I am a Roku 2XS user, and have been for awhile. The only improvements the CR App needs is the ability to rate animes via the 5 star system, and when I click on an episode or series I'd like to be able to read the full summary/synopsis. Great app besides that, no problems.
