It could be very cheery or cool. Or you can listen to it all day and just rock out with. I love 'Hold me together". It's just so encouraging to me. :)

At a Christmas service when I was 8, my mother introduced me to"Handel's Messiah" (the story of Jesus' life in a powerful and majestic way). She said, "it is the nearest sensation to the elevation of the host known to many christians... In his "Hallelujah chorus", he has the power to say a thing w/ one stroke... When he sets the words.... "Fixed in His everlasting seat...the non-believer/atheist is struck dumb: GOD is there....fixed on his everlasting throne by Handel". It's my mom's favorite oratorio and I'm always uplifted and recharged by it. I hope sometime over the Christmas season everyone gets to enjoyed the the glorious gift that is the "Messiah."

I heartily agree..."The Messiah" is an inspiring and majestic masterpiece. Merry Christmas gpl. :))

A fav of mine is the emotionality thought-provoking "Mary Did You Know" - by Mark Lowry. The simplistic words deliver such a powerful message. This song never fails to pierce my heart.

I came across a powerful vid ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfpK6cNPF7Y&feature=related ) someone made using the song. It's not for the weak of heart, but revealing and ultimately triumphant.

"Mary Did You Know"

Mary, did you know....
That your baby boy would someday walk on water?
Mary did you know.....
That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?
Did you know.....
That your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you've delivered ....Will soon deliver you.

Mary did you know....
That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary did you know.....
That your baby boy will calm the storms with his hand?
Did you know that your baby boy....
Has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby....You've kissed the face of God.

The blind will see....
The deaf will hear....
The dead will live again......
The lame will leap....
The dumb will speak....
The praises of the Lamb........

Mary did you know....
that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary did you know....
that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?
Did you know....
That your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
This sleeping child you're holding.... is the Great I---AM---

How could I just pick one? LOL! I love, LOVE the hymns. One of my most recent favorites is "O Sacred Head Now Wounded", and there is a YouTube version sung by Fernando Ortega that is just beautiful. (((((HUGS))))) sandi
