Tomorrow the so called (in italian) "legge bavaglio" will be voted in Parliament and all the informations website, newspapers online, blogs and websites like Wikipedia may be close or obfuscated (italian sites only of course).
Only because our dear president may be not be able to do his "ladies" affaires anymore without his phone under control and escape from his ongoing trials..tsk!

Here an extract:

The Bill - Rules on Wiretapping etc., p. 24, letter a) states that:
«For the Internet sites, including newspapers and periodicals delivered by telematic way, the statements or corrections are published, with the same graphic characteristics, the same access methodology to the site and the same visibility of the news which they refer.»

Please, let the world know how stupid and wrong our government and politicians are, If this law will be approved our freedom to have an opinion will be in danger!

Here the art.21 of our constitution

Anyone has the right to freely express their thoughts in speech, writing, or any other form of communication.
The press may not be subjected to any authorisation or censorship. Seizure may be permitted only by judicial order stating the reason and only for offences expressly determined by the law on the press or in case of violation of the obligation to identify the persons responsible for such offences. In such cases, when there is absolute urgency and timely intervention of the Judiciary is not possible, a periodical may be confiscated by the criminal police, which shall immediately and in no case later than 24 hours refer the matter to the Judiciary for validation. In default of such validation in the following 24 hours, the measure shall be revoked and considered null and void. The law may introduce general provisions for the disclosure of financial sources of periodical publications. Publications, performances, and other exhibits offensive to public morality shall be prohibited. Measures of preventive and repressive measure against such violations shall be established by law.

Thank You

yeah I know, we don't have a president, we have a clown, but here having clowns, instead of serious politicians, works.

Meh. In order to define freedom, it must be challenged. If the Italian people don't rise up to fight this, they don't deserve freedom of speech in the first pace.

Secondly, Wikipedia has only closed their italian site in protest. They can host their server in any non-Italian country and be free of any fines and restrictions imposed by the Italian law. Their protest will by now have already reached a large portion of the internet-enabled Italian population. And news agencies around the world are spreading the story like wildfire, garnering this law exactly the kind of exposure it wouldn't want.

The ball's in the hands of the Italian population now.
