Is death something to be feared and life something to be valued?

Life most definitely is something to be valued, unfortunately there are many that do not fully appreciate (their own) life until near death... it's easy as a human being to take for granted that which is a constant. Go outside and look around you, really look around you every once in awhile at all the life that surrounds us every day. Birds as they flit about from tree to tree, insects as they go about their odd tasks, squirrels as they forage for food... and so much more with veritable endless varieties depending on where you live and the season... life is happening all around us all the time, we simply fail to see it sometimes.

I'm a big believer in balance in all things, death is the balance to life, and a necessary thing. Should it be feared? No, but it's only natural to fear that which you don't understand. The inherit idea of death, to cease to be forever, is a bit unnerving as it is incomprehensible... what is forever? To be more specific I believe most people don't fear death, they fear dying. How am I going to die? Is it going to be painful, or will I pass on in my sleep? Will I have many things left undone?

My personal humble opinion, both are equally valuable and not to be feared as they are different sides of the same coin.

Don't fear death as it is part of life.

If you harbor a deep fear of death,
it will keep you from living your life to its fullest.

I love this quote. "Death is certain, The hour of it UN-certain"
This applies to everyone & everything.

death is to be expected.. if you spend you're whole life fearing it you waste valuable time bringing you closer to death anyways. Life is to be as valued as much as you wish to value it, some people struggle to find any true value in life at all A. because they're either incredibly stoic or B> because it just plains sucks.

As i've always said earth.. this world is beautifully cruel, it is painful to live it out but what you do manage to live the people you meet (the few good ones amongst the bad) memories you gain are beautiful in their own way.

I don't fear it, I've come to accept it, especially in my occupation.
But...I think other people should value their life's a little bit more...

nope no one owns property in heaven.

You see this is the thing is if an atheist put down he doesn't believe in god i wouldn't try and insult or demean his views because my religion tells me to respect other people's views, Now learn to respect other people's views council house chav .

Now here is the thing atheist's always say and im sure you would say it if we continued this exchange. Show me proof god exists , how about you show me proof god doesn't exist.

The religious insult and demean non believers all of the time. If you all just sat in your houses, or in your churches and worshipped your invisible friend, without it having an impact on my life. I wouldn't give a shit what you believed. Sad thing is, that i am affected by someone elses completely unfounded beliefs. I see FAR more malicousness towards atheists from relgious people than i do the other way around. However, there is far more mockery of religion by atheist, than the other way around.
But that is because we have facts, and proof, tangible and empirical evidence for scientific claims that contradicts the "holy books" We don't have to worry about getting mocked. Unless someone tries engage fanatical nutjobs without a basic understanding of these concepts.

Hahaha Ohh yes. Classic!
The burden of proof is always on the party making a claim. If it wasn't, i could say. "Unicorns, leprechauns and the flying spaghetti monster exist!" And it would have to be accepted as fact, because you can not disprove any of those categorically.
It is also why someone is innocent, until proven guilty. Anyone can make ridiculous claims, it is up to THEM to prove their claims are correct.

And i'm sure that right now, your sub par intellect is going "AHA! Atheists make the claim that god does NOT is exists. That is also a claim, that they must prove!" Incorrectomundo my delusional friend. Non belief is a default position. We did not come up with the concept of god, then went "This does not exists!" We simply addressed the claims that such a being does exists.

Thing is, even if the non existence of god can not be 100% proved, due to the vague nature of said deities. We can address the retarded claims of religion to the creation of man, and the nature of the universe.
Believe in the creation story? Jesus performing magic? Coming back to life? Piller of salt? Parting the sea? Staff to snake? Genesis flood and Noah's Ark?

I don't really care. If I died, I died. It doesn't matter to me because I'm dead already. Life or fear, like I care about this situation.

No one who is still breathing can say...

Death may be harder than life and life may be harder than death...

I am expendable, I know that.
I do not have much of a perspective on life/death.
It's limited; I am the thing that is recognized without value.

....

My existence has a rather vain importance.

Death should be valued and life should be feared

"Those who don't fear death are fools..."

"And those who fear death are cowards."

Basically, don't care about it. Live how you want, and then you die. No ifs ands or buts. Just live > death, end of the road, no U-turns allowed. And hope you go down fighting zombies.

In the end, I fear living too long. Life should be valued, but all the same, so should death. No matter where it goes to.

Death is feared because no one has lived to tell it
