Is death something to be feared and life something to be valued?

On a legal level you don't have much choice. Most countries laws and regulations states that a person don't have the right to take their own life. If they even try to, the consequences will be great, with the risk of getting shut in in a "white house"(for "mentally unstable" people) till the day you think and behave as the rules themselves. In that way you have to value your own life and at the same way "fear" death, or rather the consequences surrounding it.
It is way more severe when it comes to try to kill someone. If you try to, then you will most likely get shut in a sort of jail for a long period of time till they think you have gotten sane enough and payed of your guilty sentence with time and money. After that you will certainly be marked like an big idiot for many years to come, or the rest of your life. Getting a job, apartment etc will be very hard as well, some claim even near to impossible.

My personal view follows the same facts as above but not completely and is a bit more "philosophical".
Getting born is not your own choice and you just get born like that. It is your "parents" choice and you have to bear with with it.
It is pretty useless to "fear" death. it would just make you stressed and anxious all the time. Sure anything could happen like a lightning bolt hitting you while you walk down the street. Still, i rather would tell people to be conscious and careful of their life's and their surroundings. In that way you have a less greater risk of meeting death too soon. Death, sure you will likely meet it some day, but when, where and why is hard to tell till it happens. Thinking on the fact that medicine and health supporting means progresses in a crazy speed year after year, it makes it hard to absolutely say that every human will die some day. These days it is pretty clear a human can live very long, despite injuries, smoking cigarettes, consuming much alcohol, candy, food etc. And if medicine develops much further i think it will come up with a way to prolong life even longer than today, or maybe create human life span that lasts for centuries. If that happens, then fear of death will surely shrunk greatly and the "term" value life will get a more complex and deeper meaning than today. Maybe even cease to exist.

The future aside, to value life is quite complicated. You have got a life and liven through many hardships through your years till the day you become grown up and get a job. Even more hardships will come after that. Thinking on those things it is common for a person to start value her life because the person have been through so much. Every person or creature do what they can with their life's in the way they see fit.
Some spend most time before a computer, while others spend their time with sports or working overtime all year long etc. If they like it then so be it, it is their choice and they have to take the consequences that follows.
So i guess you should value life when it lets you do quite a lot of things you probably couldn't do if you didn't live nor was human.
Some people will surely say, " i have many hard times in my life and they bore me out and life is nothing to value". Hard times comes and goes that for sure, but they will most likely never be there all the time. A life without any kinds of issues, troubles or worries would be quite boring or you would feel spoiled. It is part of life.
But fun times will be there as well, now and then.
Anyone, have some sort of hobby that makes your free time fun and worth the time. It would commonly lead to that you value your life as something good to have and keep in the best condition as possible, even if you live for example 50 years or more.

It should be accepted, but truth be told I probably won't sit around with umbrella drinks if I was dying of cancer or something

You see this is the thing is if an atheist put down he doesn't believe in god i wouldn't try and insult or demean his views because my religion tells me to respect other people's views, Now learn to respect other people's views council house chav .

Now here is the thing atheist's always say and im sure you would say it if we continued this exchange. Show me proof god exists , how about you show me proof god doesn't exist.

What the dear shit is wrong with you, you crazy bastard?
