Haha yes but it's opinion on why you should.

I never said "Never watch another sub because they suck. Only watch dubs from now on"

But I can see how it was misunderstood. People are always very defensive on forums for some reason.

You said it yourself, they use the same group over and over again. Let me ask you this, would you rather hear a new voice every time you watch an anime, or the voice actor for Piccolo (who doesn't know how to change his voice at all) every time?

edit; Also, who came up with the idea of making all people from Kansai sound like rednecks? We get it, that's how they view them and they're further south, but don't give them this shitty southern accent, it's bad enough as it is.

I don't understand why some of you took my post the wrong way. I wasn't trying to tell anyone what to do. It's just my opinion. Everyone has one and nobodies is wrong.

So there's no need pick apart what I said and explain why I'm wrong. Simply disagreeing and then writing your own opinion would have been plenty. Trying to prove me wrong is totally unnecessary.

It`s the title ;-)
"Why you SHOULD"
That word is mistaken, people think from that, that you telling us what to do.

I agree and to add more of my thoughts: I want to help and I mean no harm, but I think this thread's title could be improved because I find it a bit illogical to go for the dub first for shows that needs an ample amount of time to be translated and dubbed. The process of all these take quite a long time to finish and with the tendency of an anime being or not being aired on our local tv screens is already such a pain. Uncontrollably talkative annoying people around doesn't help with this fact either and unless you are cool with being spoiled because of them then why not? Now, time for me to apologize because I know you just made this thread with a good intention of sharing a nice tip for better anime watching experience.

ANYWAYS, dubs and subs both have pros and cons. I admit that dubs are very useful for certain audiences like children who are still unable to read but it's a different story for deaf people.

I almost never watch a dub first unless I don't have a choice. I prefer to first experience the anime the way it was meant to be experienced so I'll watch the sub first and the dub second. If I can't stand the dub though, I'll turn it off.

But yeah, there are some anime where I absolutely prefer the dub over the sub because the script is more amusing, the voices fit better, etc. Sometimes the American voice actors give the characters more personality; Justin Cook playing Yusuke in Yu Yu Hakusho being a prime example. There are scenes where Yusuke's Japanese voice actor remains silent but in the dub, Cook sometimes ad-libbs, throwing in a smartass remark here and there, making the scene more interesting.

Usually yes. But it's a very large group.

It's not a misunderstanding. Your title plainly suggests you're trying to convince people that they should watch dubs. "Why you should go for the dub first". When what you really should have said was, "why I prefer dubs" or something to that nature.

If it's that large of a group, how come I hear so many of the same voice actors over and over again?
