Meh I'm a straight guy and the yaoi situations in Ouran killed me. With that said, they were pretty mild and I'm not sure if I could handle more than it's satyrical nature.

It could be a good story. The idea that if you're not just like the protagonist, you shouldn't read it is a pretty poor one. I'd bet 99% of the people reading Naruto aren't actually ninjas.

dunno...BUT...I look at it this way...there is no "Straight"...there is no "Gay"...there are just people and what gets them off...just because another guy's hairy backside doesn't do it for me...I'm not about to condemn someone for liking it...I don't mind yaoi content (or yuri for that matter)...but most of the anime and manga I enjoy is mindless diversionary entertainment...if it's too serious or takes itself too seriously I'm not likely to enjoy it...but if it's light-hearted...fun...heart-warming or uplifting...I'm all for it...life is too short for depressing anime...or to care about someone's "preference"...

...because it's entertainment...and he probably does not have any hangups about his or anyone else's sexuality...

I guess that's the same as asking a girl why they read or watch yuri. They just enjoy it. An example is saying someone who loves comedy shows has to be funny - which is not true. You don't have to be like something to like it, if you get what I mean.

Though, I watch only shounen-ai. And 'mild' yaoi. I don't really like smut ..
